Hang on minute the op said the manager said they clean 500 cars a day, this must be a mistake,

Can only quote as he did to me

this is 100 cars per garage - 5 garages in total they are working out of

as that Is £2500 a day @£5 a time, even if its 500 a week thats £125,000 a year, if they are turning over that sort of money just for cleaning cars they can afford to respray it,without arguing

I guess I will have to give them the chance on Saturday to rectify and if not then take it further....??
    2007 £1749
    2008 £291.99
    2009 JanMasscara £7.00 Feb megcabot books x 2 £20 XFactor tkts x 2 £58.00 (couldn't go though as they only phoned on day :-( ) foundation £7.99
total so far for 09 £92.99

    Hi everyone

I didn't take the car in the end as there seemed little point, had taken it to Volvo and they said polishing it would make no difference.

its is £1k to rectify the damage so I am going to go and ask them for their insurance details - not holding my breath :-(

    will post some pics later......

Thanks everyone for all your help /advise

Any pics yet Dipsy? Sturll, as Dipsy says above the garage said polishing would make no difference. As for your Audi Sturll, you don't think the dealership left on some protective wrapping/film on the vehicle and the heat from the jet wash almost stripped it? I'm not sure if you have said where the problem area was on the car. If it was bumbper area, I know that Audis have protective films applied for transportation, however this should be removed at PDI stage at the dealers. Just a thought?

IMO it is more likely that the jet washing has revealed a flaw in the paint rather than being to blame.

The paint film used to protect new vehicles is very thick as it needs to be durable.
It would be blatantly obvious if this was left on after the PDI stage.

    Good thought though
  • Regarding the guy who said to use wax...

This is not now or ever a good piece of advice and I am shocked and appalled that Audi have told you to do this.

Wax is a temporary aid to laquer in the respect that it gives a glossy protective coating to the car.

The idea that it would even hide what the op is describing let alone be a permanent solution is ridiculous.
