Hand car wash damage to car

treaclesponge wrote: »And a 'fact' that is not factual! Well done. Calling people a 'tit' and a 'bell end' really added power and stature to your argument. Congratulations. However I (and nearly everyone else on here) are aware that wax couldn't possibly replace clearcoat as its applied as a stage of the painting process. Wax is applied by people in their garages with a cloth. What makes your argument funnier is that you are arguing with a man who paints cars for a living. So far your posts are as useful as a one legged man in an !!!! kicking contest....
Another tit that can't read.
Lets see what the OP says when he has tried it.0 -
No, im sat thinking what a knob end you are. When you read my post are you missing the word that says it worked. I dont know nothing about lacquer or how to paint a car but ill guess its hardly rocket science. What im saying you thick tw@ is that Audi told me to do it and it WORKED. Even someone as apparently slow as you can understand that.
Or should we start with 'the bus was red'
.
what did Audi actually give you to use? a Wax, Polish or a Rubbing compound
As for Painting a car being hardly rocket science get a few tins of paint and try it its bloody hard to do0 -

I think that you will find that this problem won't go away. If i smash the bricks off the side of your house, putting some nice wallpaper up wont make the problem vanish, simply hide it. Pretty much what the wax would do. Its just a layer over the paint to protect it (amongst other things) from crap and birdshit so that when you wash it next time it will come off easily. Another trip to the Estonian carwash superstars will either result in loss of more clearcoat or potentially colour coat.
I will post a picture to make it easier for you to understand - look, no wax!

They didnt, they told me to take it and get it waxed. I took it to a car valet who waxed it and the problem went away.0 -

Has anyone ever thought that rather than damage the lacquer the OP may have actually unbeknown to him damaged a layer of wax?
After all people on here have said its unusual for a jet was to damage lacquer?
Just a thought.0 -
Amazing how many people on this thread are new posters ... wonder how many are related to each other.
Ok so Sturl you should not be name calling, in my opinion you are making yourself look daft by being so abusive.
AndyMonty I have to disagree, I resprayed an old bike of mine and got a nigh on perfect finish. It was my first time at spraying aswell so it isn't that hard. My dad would agree aswell, he has been spraying cars, chassis and many other things for over 45 years!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Your absolutely right.
Apologies for any insults. But lets see how the OP returns.0 -

Perhaps just a lot of people who know what they are talking about who don't want to see someone spend uncessary money on something?RustyFlange wrote: »Ok so Sturl you should not be name calling, in my opinion you are making yourself look daft by being so abusive.

So you had a good teacher then. The OP doesnt necessarily have access to someone with experience to help/show/guide them how to do this correctly. I would say that it would be quite daunting to respray my car, myself with off the shelf equipment.0 -
