There's quite a lot- mostly good abiut Ebico - the co whose brands are Equipower and Equigas- on this sub forum. Search the forum on the three words and I think it will help you make your decision. They are a virtual power supplier, buring their power from other cos and in my area its from Southern whose service is very good in my view- as a customer. You'd have, were you an Ebico customer here, much of the functionality of Southern's website for things like submission of readings on line or by an 0800 number, I believe.0

jpdh wrote:Yeah me too, I switched gas & elec in Feb/Mar via the simplyswitch link on this site which should pay £30 cashback. Never had it. Can anyone please help?
Cheers.
I believe the deal is that the cashback is paid within 60 days of the switch actually taking place - normally by credit to the account you nominated for paying by Direct Debit (assuming that applies).
So, are you sure the 60 days has elapsed yet? I seem to recall from previous threads that SimplySwitch have quite a good record for paying cashback. (Actually, I'm waiting to find out for myself, having only recently switched from BG to Powergen.)0 -
what do you advise for this please.
current provider approx £320 a year elec only no gas
current provider capped till 2010 £420 a year.
new provider online billing uncapped £225 a year.0 -

To be absolutely clear, are you saying that all quotes are for elec only or just that the current provider just supples elec?
I ran the capped deal trough Excel and for your current scheme it xomes out thatits costs would need to rise about 13.5- 15% p.a. to cost as much as the capped sdhme that is on offer. How pessemistic are you? On the surface the online deal does represent a saving but when did that co raise its prices, are you and any partner happy and confident with an online service, what have you read about the provider? Perhaps if you reveal which co, some friends here may comment. Have you looked at EBICO, which also is mentioned in this forum?0 -
There's nothing on their site about the £12 cashback. Has anyone used them and got their cash?0

Hi, I got my cashback from them. When you do the switch, you get an email with details about the cashback.
They sent a cheque to me once the switch had been completed (can take 6 to 8 weeks)0 -
Hi
I've switched too, thanks to Martin's prompt.
I spent an hour or so working out my consumption in kWh for gas & electricity. It was a bit tedious - a spreadsheet was required!! But I decided it was a more accurate way of working out which was the best provider for me.
I was with Powergen, and the 2nd best saving on the list......was Powergen!! But on a different tariff. I had to work it out carefully & check I'd got the right tariff, etc. But the upshot of it is that I should save over £100/year
Unfortunately, because I was already with Powergen I couldn't switch through the websites. However a quick phone call directly to Powergen and I was switched straightaway (although I had to persist - they weren't keen to move me!!)
Easiest £100 saving)
Thanks Martin0 -
fed up with p.... poor service from Npower:mad: and the price hikes so thanks to Martin and team i am going to switch to Powergen and save £150!:j
I will also get £12.50 cashback from link :T and am going to see if I can help Mum & dad save money on Staywarm scheme:beer:
Any tips on the scheme would be greatly receivedAndyboy :idea:0 -
I just don't know what to do. To cap or not to cap. There is a significant difference in price. £200 per annum extra for capped. My instinct tells me to go for non capped. Please, masters of all knowledge, share your wisdom.£33 (£10 a day challenge)0

Hi Money Saving Experts!!!
Watch out for British Gas conning distraction or bad mathematicians"!!
I attempted a switch on internet to British Gas Click Energy for the electricity supply 10 days ago.
According to all switching websites, suggested by MSE.com, its offer (paying via Direct Debit) was the cheapest with:
A. 8.350 p/kWh for first 225 kWh and 6.338 thereafter /quarter
plus £ 15 off the first bill.
A week later I received a letter confirming this figures, with a form to set a Monthly Direct Debit of an amount strangely £ 15,00 over my usual montly bill. I got suspicious
6th of June(today) I called them up and with my biggest surprise:eek: the call centre said that since the 20th of March 2006 their rate has always been set at:
B. 15.037 p/kWh for first 225 kWh and 8.817 therafter /quarter!:A
I told them to hold on the line but I couldn't open the Click Energy Rates on their website https://www.house.co.uk (can anybody check for me?) to have a counterpart there and then.
Then I checked on British Gas Click Energy on all the suggested Comparison websites and..
watch out all the Comparison websites on Click Energy rates are wrong, disinformed, not updated!!
showing this time different rates , but still totally wrong!!
C. respectively 10.729 and 7.732 p/kWh!!!
who's wrong? :money: Martin bring some light pls!!:money:
Comparison services? British gas confirming by letter and denying by Call centre? Me? Which Tariff is right A.,B.,C.?
Two more funny:rotfl: things on British Gas Hilarious statements that I can't keep in:
1.
"Every 60 seconds someone switches back to British Gas." ;
The Guardian/ads May9 2006
"BG has lost 350,000 domestic customers this year..";
The Guardian/Financial May20 2006
Some quick maths:
4 months(Jan-Apr)= 120 days= 2880 hours= 172800 mins
350,000(lost customers)/178,800 mins = approx. 2 lost customers/min:rotfl:
"In the last 4 months BG lost 2 customer every 60 seconds!!!"
Are their engineers that bad in maths??!!!??? Or the Financial figures didn't get inside BG head office!!! Let's wake 'em up!!!!:D
2.
Why are they winging on their website (https://www.house.co.uk) to watch out on unreliable Comparison websites, whereas those websites are even showing better (but wrong!) prices than they really do?
To have a sane laugh just go on the alarming section
Switching Sites-The facts:eek: with inside
* Switching sites may not be as impartial as you think (mmmhhh..)
* Switching sites don't always have all the latest deals ( tell 'em to keep it quiet)
Sorry for my rough english! I hope I'm totally wrong.
Maximus will definitely switch to Equigas and Equipower . At the moment the cheapest for real!!!:A0
