I phoned them last week, and again today told someone would get back to me both times, I won;t hold my breath, seems the cashback offer was a scam to get us to swap through them

    FYI

Cashback is not paid when you instruct Energyhelpline to switch supplier. It is usually paid about one month after your new supplier account has gone live.

If all goes according to plan, switching supplier will take 4/6 weeks, therefore 2.5 months [10 weeks] is the norm.

I have used several "Cashback" websites to switch supplier and all operated in a like manner. Cashback was either deposited in my bank account or a cheque sent to my home address.

    Have a little faith.

July 05 is way too long to wait - Something must be wrong.

I've used Energyhelpline twice and received cashback from them within the allotted timescale. It was Martin who persuaded Energyhelpline and others to share some of their commission with us. Switching cashback from this website is not a scam.

Click the link below and check out Energyhelpline’s cashback questions and answers.

Did you choose a supplier that Energyhelpline will not pay cashback on if switched to? Did you call Energyhelpline to:

A: Check that they pay cashback when switching to your preferred supplier?
B: Conduct the switch verbally with them and if so did you mention their cashback deal? Did they state that cashback will be paid to you?

Hope the above is of some use to you.

The cashback Q and A page loads,

    http://www.energyhelpline.com/mhl/p...ef=Cashback&p=1

But the "yellow image" they talk about appears nowhere on all top 40 of the gas and elec providers in my list and I could not find any mention of their cashback scheme other than from this link fastflys kindly provided.

I am wondering if the so called £60 saving Npower (on their own website) state they give, would be included if I was to swicth with energy helpline anyway.

Can anybody help on this ??

    Thanks

The link below shows the £12.50 cashback text (in yellow) below the phone number in the top right corner of the screen.

    https://www.energyhelpline.com/cashback

So that has answered my own question.

Does anyone know about my £60 "refund" that I mentioned in my last post.

i.e. would I get that if applied to NPower through energy helpline (as well as the £12.50) ?

    Any help gratefully received

  • I agree with connor.

I've just been looking at U Switch and energy help line and both of them seem to think my bill should be 560-570pa when doing the calculation myself I think it should only be 510 (at least 10% less), ignoring the "loyalty" cheque for 1 months direct debit that Atlantic send me every year.

I think the problem might be that a combination of U Switch/Energywatch using the wrong figures and also Altantic being more than a little vague about what tarrif I'm on (the bill doesn't say anything). To give them the benefit of doubt I assumed I was on the domestic standard online tarrif (as I definitely have a standing charge) however although this seemed to be the cheapest Atlantic package the comparison sites still came out too expensive.

Good luck to those still looking for a cheaper deal.

    WARNING.

I've just been doing some price comparisons as I've just got the letter from Powergen detailing the new unit prices.

THE PRICES PER UNIT SHOWN ON BOTH ENERGYHELPLINE AND USWITCH SHOWN IN THE RESULTS IT GAVE ME ARE NOT THE SAME AS THE COMPANIES ARE ACTUALLY CHARGING.

For example, Energyhelpline gave British Gas Click Energy (Electricity) as 9.513 for the first 225 units and 6.701 for the rest when the actual price is over 16p for the first 225 and over 10p for the rest. Similar story with the EDF group results. I very nearly signed up as it made B.G a whopping 40% cheaper but it is only because I'm cynical that I asked the salesdroid on the phone what the unit prices were just to make sure.

CHECK THE UNIT PRICES BEING USED IN THE CALCULATIONS AND PHONE THE COMPANIES TO CHECK

    Can anyone help me?
If I switch away from British Gas can I keep the HomeCare / Maintenance that I have with them? Or do I have to source my servicing and emergency repairs elsewhere?

Apologies if this has already been asked elsewhere, but I can't find it!

    Thanks
