    Hi all,

The Tesco deal is the one that interest me the most at the moment, just wondering what people that ordered with Tesco think about the call quality and the 3G speed? I read in other forums many users had issues with signal strength and the 3G being too slow...

I'm with Tesco and totally happy with the 3G signal and call quality, no drop calls or anything. I live in London, not sure if that makes a difference to you. Ive had the iPhone4 since September and so far there has only been one incident when the 3G was down in North London; where I work, but it was back up by the evening

I've come over from Vodafone, who I felt had excellent 3G coverage, but tbh I cant tell the difference.

Remember, Tesco piggy-back the o2 network.
  • Anyone know what the Tesco upgrade after a year is likely to be? Will it be a new iPhone or would you have to pay for it. Hope the question melds sense.
  • Concerning the three network deal where you pay 99 upfront/30 a month with 300 mins 500mb dl etc, has anyone tried changing after a couple of months to the 500 mins/1gb dl tarriff? To start on this tariff its the same monthly fee but its a 149 one off payment instead of 99.
So you could pay 99 and get 300 mins then after a couple of months ring up and say you need more minutes and seeing as they are both 30 pound a month they should be able just to move you over to 500 mins for free!

When I rang up three to enquire about their deals the advisor said that this was possible. He was a little unsure but checked with a collegue who said that there is nothing stoping someone from doing this. Just seems an easy way to save 50 quid!

    Has anyone tried this?
  • Very close to phoning up Tescos and getting that £20/month deal that's popular round here.

Has anyone who's done it had any problems with PAC codes?
Just want to cover everything before I finally take the plunge!
    Aug 2009 - £50 McVities Comp
Aug 2010 - iPod Shuffle (Scotch tape comp) + Bangzo.com book (Carol Vorderman's detox)

Just be sure you want it, as if you use Tesco's 14 day return policy, they'll burn you for data/sms/voice use.
  • Thanks watcher - been waiting forever to get an iphone so I won't be returning!

On a minor note - can I get clubcard points with this purchase?

Yes you do, at times they do deals like double clubcard points for purchasing.

Ok guys, please check over this and tell me if my logic is sound.

    iphone deal comparison with 3

    iphone 4 32gb

500min deal, £239 upfront, £30 per month, with £64 cashback at quidco=======£895 over the 2 years

    or

the one plan(2000 mins etc), £159 upfront, £35 per month, with £106 cashback at quidco=====£893 over the 2 years.

Have I missed anything here ? Is there a better deal ?

I know 3 are a bit iffy, but I have been with them for years now and theyve been fine.

    Thanks for reading.

Been on phone to 3 this morning and managed to get an iphone 4 16gb on upgrade for £349 upfront and £20 per month on a 12 months contract with 300 mins, 5000 texts and 500mb data. I was offered much more expensive deals to start with but when I said I want to cancel and move to tesco, I was offerred this deal. Although I still had just over 2 months left on my existing contract, they have also set me free from that for a small charge of £7.84. I am very pleased with it myself as overall it is going to cost £589 for 12 months which is the cheapest I can get from anywhere, what do people think of this?

you can upgrade after 11 months on 12 month contract but you have to pay the advertised price of iphone4 and you can do that on phone to customer services 4455
im on staff tariff and was told to just get a new contract after 12 months i do get the 10% off the price of iphone4:D
i will be doing that in 3 weeks:D
