I'm on 3, having been on O2 and Voda, and for the first time ever I can truly utilise 3G speeds everywhere on my iPhone...Brilliant network IMO.0

Hey everyone
New on here
Been thinking about getting an iPhone recently and read the iPhone page on the MSE website.
Seen that tesco is a good deal all round, however shows out of stock on all of their iPhones on their website.
And 3 seem quite good, however not to sure about them, with the signal problems that other people on 3 i know have had.
However people i know with an iPhone and on 3 have said there coverage has been good, and people on here seem to say its good
Not sure though, because checking on the 3 website, they say their is no mobile coverage in my area
So started looking at the vodafone options.
Cheapest (when you go off overall cost at end of contract) is 75 mins, 250 texts, 1GB data, £30pcm, £759 total cost for 18 month.
However, if your looking for a short 12 month contract with vodafone
£480 for the 16GB iPhone 4,
Then get a sim only iPhone contract, £15pcm, for 12 months, = £180
£660 total over the 12 months, works out £55 a month, but if your already on vodafone (as i am) im sure you can haggle them
Plus theres cashback of about £100 or there abouts, so not a bad deal overall,
Think il threaten to leave vodafone, see the best offer they can give me but maybe go with tesco0 -
I've been with Vodafone for years, I spoke to them yesterday about upgrading to Iphone 4.
They won't negotiate on any of the price details not for contract or buying the phone. They did offer to buy my old iphone at not a bad price so there might be come degree of flexibilty there.
Good luck and please let us know if you have any more success with Vodafone than I did.
Otherwise will be off to Tesco in January for me when contract expires.0 -
the one plan on three with the iphone is almost £40 a month for 24 months when you include tax.....0

Hey All,
I'm surprised no one hasn't mentioned Threes new 'The One Plan'.
It will definitely benefit those who use lots of data, as its truly Unlimited data, plus you can use it for tethering!
Announced last week, I think its something like £25pcm, 2000 X network minutes, and 5000 Three to three min/text. and I repeat Unlimited data no cap!
Their marketing hasn't been updated, so most places are advertising it as 1GB still... but do a google search and you'll see the press coverage.
If I hadn't signed up to Tesco on their £20pcm 12month IPhone4 plan a couple of months ago, Three's offer would have denitely been the option for me. Not that I'm complaining much as the Tesco deal is definitely the second best around imo.
I can't find the iphone on this planEven if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.0 -
i ordered my iphone 4 from tesco just tonight.
i had previously ordered one on orange about 2 weeks ago, then when it arrived, i realised it was only 250 texts/month (i have no idea how i managed to confuse the orange contract with the O2 one!) anyway, so i contacted orange and im returning that one in the morning. they were pretty helpful and i will receive my full refund once they recieve the phone and scan it in at their end.
so i was about to go with O2 and then i seen someone on here say that tesco direct are sellinng the iphone just not on the tesco website so i gave them a call and ordered the £20/month contract with no fuss at all.
Also, when i contacted Orange, i rang about 6 times in total on seperate occasions and each time, they took ages to pick up the phone, one time, i was on hold for 45mins!
With Tesco, i had my call answered within seconds then i accidentally pressed hang-up so i rang straight back expecting to this time be on hold for a while, but no, my call was answered within 10 seconds
So far, it is the best customer service i have recieved from any of the 3 providers i have been with.0 -
hi a friend recently renewed their orange contract, and got a really low retentions offer with 750mb unlimited data well fair use data package included, and unlimited texts and a lot of mins etc. anyway they got the samsung galaxy s and they really wanted the iphone.
if they bought an unlocked iphone 4, would their sim card work in the phone? i mean if they cut it so it was a mirco sim card etc. im worried more about the data and network side. can you use a standard tarrif on an iphone phone or does it need to be a iphone tarrif or sim activation??
just worried if they buy the phone, the standard 3g sim tarrif wont work? help??0 -

It will work fine. The hardest part will be cutting the sim to fit.====0 -
I followed purplebubble27 as well, although the telesales person could only say delivery in 2 -5 days, I ordered from Tesco last night and it arrived half an hour ago! Very impressed and pleased.0

Hi all,
The Tesco deal is the one that interest me the most at the moment, just wondering what people that ordered with Tesco think about the call quality and the 3G speed? I read in other forums many users had issues with signal strength and the 3G being too slow...0
