Am I crazy in what I have planned?

I have ordered 2 iphone 4's and plan to sell one on ebay to help pay for the other.

I am now having major second thoughts as have heard that I could be scammed out of it (buyer claims empty box so asks for money back).

It was my way of getting a cheap iphone.

Has anyone done this and been successful? Any tips maybe?

Thanks for giving tip on how to get a free iPhone.
Seriously though. Get a good delivery service, and only sell to someone with at Least 100 positive feedback (like me:))

There is always this risk with anything on ebay, however I would note that when you purchase your iphone (at least from apple store anyway) on the receipt is the IMEI number for the phone. Naturally the first thing you would be doing in such situation is getting the police to investigate if the phone is in use... a block would be placed on the phone, and the "scammer" would be left with a brick.

I am not sure how easy it would be (or if it is indeed possible) to unbrick such a phone, but I think given this it is pretty pointless for someone to try and pull this scam if they actually want an iphone.

My T-mobile PAC expires in a week as I haven't been able to acquire an iphone 4. I'm not sure whether I should move it onto a PAYG sim, though this will have to be T-Mobile unless I unlock my phone. I can't ask their advice as they are somewhat dishonest with their advice.

    In the same boat here!

My PAC code expires on 31st July (currently with O2) and I'm holding out for the White iP4. I will be going for the Tesco offer, so if they have not had the delivery of White iP4's by 26th July I will just get a Tesco PAYG sim get my PAC/number moved over and wait a few days for stock to arrive then get my Tesco PAYG number moved over to my iP4.

The good news is my "early termination fee" has been refunded and I've been given a £10 a month loyalty discount.

DoTesco supply a PAYG iphone micro SIM?

I wouldn't risk it, in fact I actually advertised my pre ordered one on ebay, it was making £600 odd but I bottled it and pulled the auction.

Too many scammers about, especially for the phone being so desirable.

    GGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has been covered several times before. Phone insurance is a waste of money. Speak to your home insurers (contents) and check to see if you have "away from home" or "personal possessions" cover (same thing - different name). If you do, they are probably covering your phone anyway so just ask them to confirm this. If you don't have the cover, ask for 2 quotes:

    1. To add the Personal Possessions cover with £3,000 limit & including the phone
    2. To add the phone only

Both quotes will include an admin charge, so ask what this is - it's a fee you pay to cover the costs of providing the paperwork so is only a one-off. Sometimes, for your own peace of mind, it's worth having the phone specified anyway. This should cost you a couple of pounds only (after the admin charge).

The excess on PP cover is usually £50, so double that of the mobile phone insurance. The cost, however, is lower and the cover better. Mobile phone insurance does not cover theft whilst unattended (ie, you are in a cafe and leave your bag on the table whilst going to pay and come back to find it's been stolen). PP cover not only insures your phone, but your bag and its contents too!!

    STOP WASTING MONEY!!!!!!!
In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move.
