Beware. Three have locked out 2G on the iPhone so if you really heavily on 2G coverage as 3G is poor where you are then you will have problems. If your screen mostly says G or E then you will be dependent on 2G. Many have asked on the Three Blog and as yet the moderators have ducked the question. Because 2G is provided by Orange when Three coverage isn't available I fear that Three is cutting its cost in order to provide one of the most competative deals but at the expense of coverage
Three have now fixed (or backtracked) and Three iPhone users can now roam onto Orange's 2G network when out of a Three 3G area.0 -

The old business rule of supply and demand springs to mind. The fact people want it and it is in short supply means people are happy to pay a premium. So I imagine Apple will be pretty pleased about the outcome, even a flaw like dropping reception doesn't seem to have dampened demand.0 -
Hi, i'm a student looking to buy an iphone. What is the best deal for me? I can't afford a lot upfront, around £200 and i'm looking to pay around £35 a month though i would prefer the shortest contract possible with unlimited txts and something like 350 minutes. Any help would be much appreciated0

I assume it's for iphone4?
If so, it will also depend on how much you are paying up front for the handset.camusalbert wrote: »Is this a good deal?

I'm very interested in going on Three's iP4 tariff however I live in Sutton, Cambridgeshire and when I went on Three's site to check the coverage I got this result
You can use your mobile to make calls, send texts and use the internet in most outdoor locations. If you're inside you may struggle to get a signal.
Maintenance
There is currently no maintenance planned for your area.
Check your Mobile Broadband coverage here>
Not looking good, not sure how accurate these coverage checks are as the sales person in the Cambridge Three store said that I should be fine for calls and text. I will be using our Wi-Fi at home so i'm not worried about 3G but I do need to be able to make and receive calls.
Long shot but anyone on Three's network in the Sutton, Cambridgeshire area? is reception Ok?0 -

Hi there
If you don't know anyone on Three, get a PAYG sim and shove it in an unlocked phone in your house. Cann the PAYG phone and see what the reception is like. That should then answer your question about call reception and let you make an informed decision on the iPhone.
If you talk nicely to the Three Store, they'll probably give you the sim for free - especially if you explain they may get a sale out of it!!In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -

I think I have found one of the best deals around from Tesco for the 16gb iphone4. Anyone know about the tesco network/coverage? I have never used them before but they are the only one that offer a 12 month contract... don't want to be tied in a 24 month one...
oh by the way, just got an email from tesco saying that they will have stock on Monday but have to be quick... i have to wait till August anyway until my current contract ends, so hope this info is useful for someone else...
iPhone 4 16GB Black
12 months contract- Handset price: £229.00
- £35 Tariff 12 Month iPhone Contract (750 minutes, unlimited texts , 1 GB mobile data and unlimited BT Openzone Wifi)

They use O2's network, I spoke to them last weekend and even when you are with Tesco Mobile your iP4 will show O2 in the top left corner.
Tesco Mobile for the iP4 seems like a good deal. I'm currently looking at them or Three but not sure if coverage will be good at my house on Three.0
