I have been an iPhone 3GS customer for a year now with O2 on a 18 month contract. Really wanted the iPhone 4 so decided to do early upgrade offer from O2, but instead of going direct i stopped by a Phones4U store in Leeds and was offered £300 for recycling my old 32gb iPhone 3GS (better than any deal i found online). That helped cover off my early renewal fee as well as offset the cost of the handset itself.
For those that are thinking ahead to next summer when Apple is likely to announce yet another iPhone, i was told by Phones4U that they will also offer to buy out my existing contract after 12 months, allowing me to upgrade early for free! Will have to wait and see if that will be honoured or not, but was happy with the deal i got.

Through mobiles.co.uk
There's a "refurbished" tab when you search for Apple iphones on contract. (Sorry the hyperlinks don't work!). They are on the o2 network.
You can also get £60 cashback from topcashback.co.uk0 -

Anyone have any idea when Tesco will get more phones in - quite keen to get my hands on a phone and tesco's £20 a month, 12 month contract seems like a good deal?0

I phoned my local Tesco mobileshop this afternoon and they said to try again in the morning as they had no idea when they would be getting a supply of them. Apparently the website was wrong in saying they would be available in store on Monday morning. Unfortunately you can't reserve one over the phone with a deposit so I'll probably miss out when they come in as won't be able to go straight to a store in the morning.0

I've been waiting for the iphone4 for ages and on payg so starting to get a bit annoyed at not being able to top up my phone in case they suddenly get into stock! is it really worth waiting or are the costs expected to go down in say 3 months? tesco's 12m deals look good but looking at the old 12m deals for their 3gs, they're only about £30 less in price after all this time. Is there a new model expected to come out in X'mas or is it summer? The reception problem and other issues seem to be a deterrant as well, I'm just wondering if they'll fix these and come out with a better model soon?0

Suggest people go into a tesco store if they want to buy the iphone through tesco for the 12 month contract. Our experience was one of waiting for 3 days, always being told "it will be with you today". When it arrived with 20 minutes to go on day 3 it had no SIM card - so useless.
The best tesco could offer was to order a SIM card to be sent for delivery in a further 2 days time and for which we would have to wait in for all day again.
We cancelled and returned the iphone. We will not use tesco Direct again. As I look at websites/blogs i see many similar stories.0
