As an example - Apple Store via Quidco - Bottom left hand corner:

No cashback is presently available on iPad, iPod nano, iPod classic and iPod shuffle purchases.
Apple are paying cashback on the iPhone 3GS but not on the iPhone 4.

Hi I am new to Quidco so I had a question.

Is it safe to assume that Quidco will only give cash back via online deals for the iphone 3GS?

    Cheers in advance

    Hi

Does anyone know for sure that if you already have the 10% loyalty discount with Orange, and you upgrade to the iPhone with Orange, you get to keep that discount?

If so it then means an 18month contract with Orange isn't so unaffordable for me!(I'm weighting up if I can get away with with 150 mins/250 texts or if I'd have to go up a bracket!)

    Thanks

It depends where you buy your iPhone 4 from. If you buy it direct from the Apple Store, then you'll not get any cashback as they are only paying out on the 3GS as stated above.

However, you can get up to £40 cashback if you purchase an iPhone 4 on contract from Vodafone or Orange. Three currently offer £80 for pay monthly contracts, but if you go to their website you can only pre-register for the iphone 4, so you wouldn't be eligible for cashback.

Trick is to read the small print on the retailer's Quidco page. It should say exactly what it does or doesn't pay out on.

Quick note to anyone dismissing Three's iPhone 4 deals because of stories of poor coverage/customer service. I have been with Three mobile since 2006 and have never found cause to leave. I'm currently planning to upgrade to an iPhone 4 with them later this month.

Coverage has always been excellent except in some very remote areas where all providers struggle. In fact, I have often got a strong or even full signal where friends and colleague on other major networks have had none at all. Three also have the best 3G network of all.

Customer service is all handled by an Indian call centre. However, put any prejudices aside and you will find the staff extremely helpful and well trained.

You can return a phone to Three and cancel your contract within 14 days BUT you must not have used it to make or receive any calls or send/receive any texts. As you can't guarantee you won't receive a text or call, the best thing to do to check signal in your area before purchasing a contract is to ask a friend on Three what their signal is like.

One thing to note though is that public WIFI such as Openzone or The Cloud is not included on Three's tariffs. So if you planned to use that a lot then maybe you ought to consider another network.

Beware. Three have locked out 2G on the iPhone so if you really heavily on 2G coverage as 3G is poor where you are then you will have problems. If your screen mostly says G or E then you will be dependent on 2G. Many have asked on the Three Blog and as yet the moderators have ducked the question. Because 2G is provided by Orange when Three coverage isn't available I fear that Three is cutting its cost in order to provide one of the most competative deals but at the expense of coverage

It seems there's no iphone4s out there?! Applestore say there's a three week wait, Tesco Mobile has no info. on delivery times and my local Bluewater Apple Store don't answer the phone!

I thought the only decision I had to make was whether to buy the phone outright from Apple or take out a Tesco contract, although I'm not really clear on how best to set it up with the former.
