I spoke to O2 yesterday about upgrading to an iPhone now that I'm due an upgrade.
Straight from the word "Tesco" I got offered a free reconditioned iPhone 3Gs 16Gb, on their £30 a month tariff for 18 months.
That seemed reasonable to me, so I went to upgrade and they didn't have any in stock and was told to call again at the end of the week.
I asked if they would honour the offer they'd just given me, and the guy said they couldn't because their offers change. Is that right? Or can I call when they're in stock and say this is what's been offered to me?
I'm not going to be actually going through with the upgrade until after the 7th in the hopes of getting a better deal on a 3Gs.0 -
I bought my 3G through Carphone Warehouse on 23rd Dec 2008 so my 18 month contract with O2 is almost up. Can I still haggle a deal with them on a 3Gs after my contract expires? Wondering if I should do it now or wait until the 4G comes out :-S0

Help required upgrading to an iphone Ideally a 3Gs 16gb through Orange where i already have a contract coming to an end.
1st problem is when i upgraded last time i did so 3 months early and they failed to tell me that my new 18month contract would actually be 21 months with the 3 months tagged on top?? can they do this without informing you?
2nd problem i only want a 18 month contract and have around £40 per month to spend? can i do this and not have to pay for the handset, or is this only available with 24 month contracts?
If anybody has had any luck sourcing a phone FOC on an 18 month contract for around 35-40 per month can they let me know how?
Would i get a better deal switching providers?

Has anyone imported an Iphone from the US in the last 6 months?
If so
- Did you have to do anything special to unlock it?
- What were postage costs?
- What taxes did you have to pay?
Cheers in advance.0 -
I'm a current customer with 3 and phoned to ask for my pak code. They offered me:
16GB iPhone
Internet talker package (300 mins any network, unlimited internet etc...)
1000 txt top up
...for £20 per month on a 24 month contract.
Sounds ok to me. What do you think?0 -
hi,
i'm thinking of buying unlocked second-hand iphone.
what would be best sim-only deal for me.
i don't make many calls, send approx 150 texts a month & would access web for probably no more that 1 hour per day.
i saw O2 deal for £10 a month which gives 300 texts & unlimited web.
is this best for me or would another deal be cheaper. i saw some payg where you pay by MB, but I have no idea what a MB equates to in terms of web usage.
i'd prefer a tesco deal as collect clubcard points, but their website not very clear on charges for web usage.
grateful for help received.0 -

I upgraded my Orange contract today - 32gb iPhone 3GS for a one off fee of £89, and then £35 per month for 24 months. For this you get 600 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet.
Not sure if this is any use to you, but I phoned o2 and Tesco before upgrading and they couldn't offer anything even remotely close to this deal.
HTH.
EDIT
My contract was due to end on the 6th June and my £20 per month discount would have ended too which would have meant me paying £30 per mth anyway - plus you get 7 days 'cooling off period', so come the 'announcement' if the iPhone price looks like it might drop suddenly I can send this one back and go on PAYG for a while until it does0 -
