 Just had phone call from HSBC saying they believe my credit card has been defrauded.
Said the transaction for my iphone this morning was declined and my card is no longer valid.
Ran through previous transactions, all were valid.
That's the second time HSBC have called me up in the past year saying that 'my card numbers on a list' - 'Destroy your card and we'll send out a new one'.
Of all days - Now stuck on hold to mobiles.co.uk trying to make sure the order is cancelled their end before re-ordering. Need to start a fresh otherwise it'll mess up the Quidco.0 -
Okay so if I follow the logic of this - does that also mean.....
If I downgrade from £34.26p/m to £29.38p/m and I only have 8mnths left on my contract, that instead of having to pay out £274.08 (£34.26 x 8) to buy out my contract, that I'd only need to pay out £235.04 (£29.38 x 8) to buy out my contract instead?
Because that'd seems like fuzzy logic on the part of O2 to me.0 -
Some companies calculate the early termination fee at what your origional contract was, Dont know about O2, But I know T-mobile do.0

Yes the tariff can be reduced after 9 months, however at £30 you only get 75mins and 125 Texts a month where as at £5 more, you get 600mins and 500 text a month.0 -

Yep, Orange do as well, you would have to leave the contract running till the end to make it work out cheaper as buy out will be on the original contract tariff.0 -
O2 have advised me there's no termination fee other than paying for the remaining months. What I want to know is if I can downgrade and then buy out the contract at the new downgraded rates?0
-
Yes you can do this so it would be £30 x by remaining months left to run0

why are people with in-contract Iphone 3Gs even thinking of breaking out of their contract to 'upgrade' to the new one? The new iphone does not add that much extra hardware functionality on top of what the OS 3.0 ipgrade will give anyway? Ask yourself, do you really NEED the compass? do you really NEED Tom Tom ? (it will probably be overpriced anyway, and rumours are you will have to buy Tom Tom's own cradle to get the software to work). The additional HSPDA data speeds on the new 3GS are not supported by O2 (yet) and tethering tarriffs are well overpriced. On top of that, I think the voice activation thingy is largely a gimmick which most people will not use anyway. Do you really see yourself on the tube/train/bus in the morning saying out loud 'play songs by Kylie' ??
IMHO if you have a 3G Iphone, just stick to it, upgrade it to OS 3.0, downgrade to simplicity monthly contract with data (£20) when your 18 months are up and upgrade to the next gen Iphone this time next year.0 -

Why not think about it? That's all I'm doing - thinking about it. It's a better spec phone with regards to memory and processor.0
