if going through the Quidco / mobiles.co.uk route then its worth knowing that if you use the code VCCOM at the checkout, you get a free BT JABRA BLUETOOTH 2010!! worth about £20 or so!

I am with o2 already (simplicity £20) is key for me to keep my number, would mobiles.co.uk be able to do that?

I placed an order at 3pm today with mobiles.co.uk via their website. My order status is still "pending". I phoned the sales and customer service line but they have gone unanswered all afternoon! Fingers crossed the order is processed and has guaranteed dispatch tomorrow (18th) as promised on the website. Has anyone else ordered today and had it processed successfully?

It has just been cancelled. Boo Hiss. Apparantly their policy is that they need 3 years of address history in the UK in order to be able to do a credit check. I have only been here 2.5 years. This isn't an 02 policy, as my partner has a contract plan with 02, which started over a year ago! Does anyone know what 02's credit check policy is? I may need to go to them directly and miss out on the £60 cashback.
  • Hi Guys,

Might sound obvious/stupid, but I've got a 1st gen ipod touch 32gb and I really, really want to upgrade to a 16gb (minimum) iphone.. what's the cheapest way to do this? is there any sort of trade-in deal offered (UK)? any help/advice much appreciated. thanks!

    Hi,

I want to get an iPhone 3G S tomorrow.

I'm on a one month rolling SIMplicity tariff with my current 3G phone (O2 XDA Orbit 2).

If I buy one PAYG and DON'T use the SIM that comes with the phone, simply use my existing SIM card, will my existing contract which includes unlimited O2 to O2 and free unlimited Web browsing simply continue to work as normal?

If it does, then the not being tied in for 18 or 24 months and not having to buy a web bolt on after 12 months and not having to use a PAC code to take my number to PAYG will be great! I can pay for the iPhone using my Halifax BOS credit card at 0% interest and pay that off over 12 months or so and still have the handset as a softener for the next upgrade.

If anyone can clarify that I've got my thinking right on this one, I'd be grateful for confirmation.

    Regards

    Thanks dolfan,

I just called my local O2 store to check if they had stock in for tomorrow (they have) and I asked the question of them. I got the same honest answer as you've given. I simply buy the iPhone and put my existing SIM card in, my contract continues and Bob's your Auntie's husband!

    Cheers :j

No Problem, I am paying £20 per month so it works out a lot cheaper than an Iphone tariff. I did go into an o2 store to ask this question and the girl told me a straight lie and said it would not work, but she was wrong. So when I found out the truth I went in to tell her what I thought of her customer service:eek:

I cant make up my mind what to do !

I feel under pressure because the Quidco cashback deal ends tonight.

Is there any chance that the iPhone 3G S could drop in price, say after 3 or 6 months ?

Did this ever happen with the iphone 2G or 3G (excluding when they became superceeded by the later versions).

I dont want to tie myself into a 2 year contract.

I want the 32Gb phone on the £34/month tarrif - but this means the handset is £274 !

With Quidco I "should" be able to get £55 cash back and I "should" be able to get £58 from Fonebank for my old Nokia N73.

This will bring the price down to £161.

But what are the chances of getting the £55 cashback from Quidco ?

And what are the chances of getting £58 for my old phone from Fonebank ?
