Pink-winged - welcome back - glad you had such a good time but so sorry you have come back to fleas and dead plants; as you say, what a homecoming!

Aussie - apology offered! How daft do I feel now?!!

Mrs Mix - glad your dog is over the op.

Well, it has rained then stopped and got sunny, the rained again. Right this very minute the sun is out but any second now it's going back in. Nothing like the last few days but the cooler temperature is welcome.

Anyway, off for an early lunch cos I'm starving.

    See you later.

  • Dazi - I do indeed recognise Birling Gap & the Seven Sisters :):) I love walking along the squiggly river to the beach. I also remember clambering up & down the rickety steps to Birling Gap beach & hunting about in the rock pools. Hope you get back for your fix again soon.

((((jayward))) you have a lot going on at the moment, so look after you.
Aussie - did she not?? oops.... lol!!!!
Pink-Winged, welcome back, even if it is to death & destruction!!!
BargainRzl, good to hear from you too.
MrsMix, glad to hear the dog has been sorted - and don't worry about MIL, as others said it's her loss... Still a shame for the kids though.

Welcome Newbies, you'll like it here :)

Sure I've forgotten things but middle DD glaring at me as she wants to use PC & youngest DD due back from activity club this morning with my mate (who was running it) popping in for cuppa.

do you think its too late in the season to start a veg plot. I have taken down the kids climbing frame from the bottom of the garden (they have outgrown it honest!) and the space is ideal for a plot. bit of a beginner in this field so any advice greatfully received

    sistercas,

I don't think it's too late to start a veg plot..if you begin to prepare it now you'll get a head start with winter vegetables.

If you ask on the Greenfingered MoneySaving board you'll get lots of helpful advice from the regulars there.

Hi everyone, just a quick one - I'm moving offices and my desk is in massive disarray!

JackieO - congratulations - that's great news. Your positive attitude and strength is a great inspiration. G&T's all round once it's a bit cooler :)
    ((jayward)) big hugs for you
    happy birthday Almo :bdaycake:

((Pippa.S)) hope today goes well - hugs for you and your friend too - that is such a lot to bear.

I like spiders too - I think they are great and I love watching them work - it's really fascinating. But then I think most bugs are cool, especially snails :) I spend a lot of time rescuing them if they are on the path after it's rained. :)

Have a good day all, cel x

    Hello again

Dazi - that does look like a fantastic beach. Forgot sometimes how lucky we are living so close to the water.

Jayward - glad you are feeling a little better

Pink - sorry to hear about the plants and the fleas

    Hello Newbies :hello:

Well my day isnt going to plan, DS was driving me mad earlier as he decided that he didnt want to go out (cant keep him in normally) and my sister asked me to babysit her children for an hour whilst she went into the gym. Apparantly now it will be over 2 hours. My neice is driving me mad she needs constant attention (she's 7) so am not impressed as dont think I will get half the things done that were on my list today its my only full day in as well. WIll get her back though, she can babysit DS while I go to Tai Chi tomorrow though she only gets 1 and I get 2.

Here is a little more rant coming - I dont get a break from my children for more than a couple of hours here and there, my sister is divorced (she left him) and has everyother weekend with no kids and he also regularly takes them on holiday. However because she is on her own she beleives that she is more entitled to more breaks without her kids which certain members of my family. She is skint but spends money like water & I try and budget more carefully and I admit we do have a nice house but we earnt it but all I hear from my family is that we are so lucky and poor sister. Its like I get penalised for not being a single parent iykwim. Some members of my family buy my neice and nephew things & holidays whilst my kids dont get anything not even a bag of sweets- they dont even get contacted by them. Anyway do I sound really ungrateful and nasty ? I do get on well with my sister but am sometimes more upset by the actions of other people who assume that as i am with someone with a reasonable income that my kids and myself dont warrant caring about. Also my DD questions whether Grandad loves her cousins more because he is often round there.

Oh I cant beleive how much Ive moaned - sorry. Anyway best get on.

    Afternoon all,

Happy birthday Almo...:bdaycake:really liked Melbourne when we were there in June, nice place to live I think.

    JackieO ...great news on your tests...your positive, upbeat attitude had a lot to do with it, I am sure;

Aussie...so sorry to hear that it is so cold in Queensland...definitely woollies weather!

Mioliere...no panic about the wedding, all will be well, a smiling, sincere welcome is all people look for, so stay cool!

Pink....welcome back from holidays...always a bit of a disaster in the garden I find, although DD4 seemed to manage to keep things alive, if only just!

MrsMix...sorry to hear that you have problems with MIL...mine was never all that keen on grandchildren being under her feet.

Essex girl....there always seems to be a 'needy' member in a family....irritating for you I understand and can't offer you any advice...maybe the rant was all you needed...feel free.

    Jayward...hugs

Welcome to newbies...you will like it here.

Hugs to everyone who is in need or want of one

Weather nice to-day although we had thunder, lightning and torrential rain during the night.

    Have a good day all

    Afternoon all.

    Late again.......:rotfl:

JAYWARD ((((hug)))) for you, I reckon you need it.

    ALMO Hippo Bathday.

MRS_MIX Hope the woofer recovers completely, and they don't find anything sinister when they do the tests on the growth.

JACKIEO Congratulations, wishing you good health for the future.

PINK-WINGED When we had an infestation of fleas recently, Johnson's 4Fleas did the job brilliantly. Got it from Pets At Home.

Well, we had a bit of excitement last night; got home from the CAMRA branch meeting about 11:30pm, and there was a helicopter buzzing about overhead. Only thing we could think was that someone had absconded from Woodhill Prison, and they were out looking for them. ( I suppose they could be hiding in DC's pile of ironing??)

    Gotta go, the BM summoneth!

    Thanks for the encouragement Meanmarie!

Welcome back Mrs Moneypenny - we've missed you! I was wondering where you were!

Essex-girl - I can understand how you feel; it does sound very frustrating. Rant away - it's what we're here for.

Well, I don't know what it's like elsewhere but it's very windy here and alternating between rain and sun and nowhere near as warm as yesterday!

Anyway, I've just had quick snooze so it's back to work.

    See you later.
