    Morning everyone

    Happy Birthday Almo
Great news about your results JackieO
Essexgirl - beaches without shops etc, my favourite kind, this is where we used to go when mine were young, nothing there at all, but used to bribe kids for the long walk up the cliff that the ice cream man might be there, 9 times out of 10 he wasn't :D

No doubt Squiggley will recognise it :D

Pen-Pen - I agree about Mama Mia, I have registered on play.com to be informed when the DVD comes out. I want the soundtrack too, even though I have the Abba gold cd and the abbamania one.

Candy when my DD was pregnant I started buying something each week, sometimes it would only be a bottle of baby oil, but it soon adds up, I thought I would make a little basket up, I ended up getting a large wicker washbasket :rotfl:

I was going to do a blitz on HW today as its a bit cooler but agency have just rung and asked me to take some ID in, so thats a trip to Hanley for me.

Better get on or I will never get the bus.

Have a good day, (((hugs))) for those who would like one.

Morning all, It is cooler here today so took advantage and have been ironing on the patio, nearly finished. Was distracted by the scruffiest baby robin I've ever seen he's so cute he kept hopping around me when I was weeding y/day. Got some of the weather proofing done on doors and windows, the ones in the shade, hope to finish today.

Utility room ready for flooring but will buy it tomorrow as DH gets 10% off at B&Q on Wednesdays, I fancy some black and white tiles. See what's reduced.

Got some YS duck breast for dinns tonight, salad and new pots. fruit for pud.

JACKI O, I have been asking about you for ages, GREAT to see you back with EXCELLENT news.

    ALMO, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Off to catch up, ((((((HUGS to all in need))))))))))
  • Morning all,

Newbie so hope it's ok to join in.

MY house looks like a bombs hit it - combination of work, college and me just being too lazy!

Anyway going to finish watching Jeremy Kyle and then I shall put on my abba cd and get going!

    Have a good day all.

    Morning all

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALMO  .

JACKIEO glad to hear your good news.

HUGS TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS ONE THIS MORNING.

We had a storm last night and everything is much fresher here. Work was boiling, not good for the patients or staff. It got better as the shift wore on, but I still need to look for another job as the pressure is still huge. The bonus was I got to see my lovely doctor who I haven't seen for ages. I've had a crush on him for years and he really is a lovely man.

Mum and Dad are coming around for lunch so I should really tidy up. I have counselling today and they are going to look after DS whilst I go.

    Have a good day all.

Hello everyone, been reading the daily thread for ages, and you seem a lovely bunch,I've been plucking up courage to join in.At home during the day I sometimes feel the lack of people to talk to,there aren't many neighbours around then.Yesterday I weeded my next door neighbours front garden,so got to talk to a few passers by:cool: ,our house is set a long way back so don't usually see them.
I'm off to take the dog out shortly,I have to scan the area to check for other dogs first,he's so enthusiastic he literally pulls me over.We sent him for training, and in all other respects he's really good, but not that bit!The trouble is people see him bounding over and get a bit worried- they don't know he's a big softie so I don't blame them at all.We rescued him and he was never socialised, being a mastiff cross he's on the large side, about 10 1/2 st. last time the vet weighed him !

One hour later...well I just had a nice surprise,my brother called with a colleague and asked me to put the kettle on,they were in the area and it was brew time.Luckily he called to say they were on the way so I just had time to bung all the breakfast dishes in the DW and make the kitchen look respectable;) Don't want them thinking I just sit at my laptop all day, do I ?
I took the dog out as soon as they'd gone, good bit cooler today,so it suited him much better.
Anyway, better get something done, will do pork chops done in the Remoska tonight for tea,and I think I'd better do some baking to put with DH & DS2s packed lunches, struggled to find something from the freezer last night (sure they sneak extra out when I'm not looking)
I hope everyone has a good day.

Squiddly I don't recall Almo saying my nether regions were cold. :naughty:  :D But I dare say they have been. ;)

JackieO That's great news. The weekend away sounds fun. I love spiders too. (soda floats I think you call them)
    Catz I already do. :p:D

DD & I are off to see Mama Mia at some point too. I've already seen the musical on stage and loved it. I loved Abba when I was a teenager. :p
Our furniture that we were due to pick up on Saturday is still not here. So will have to cancel the car ferry & truck that I just booked yesterday.

Talking about scones, I found a recipe the other day which I'm going to try over the weekend. It's this one. Sounds pretty nice, will let you know what it's like.

Well off to have a shower & hit the sack. Enjoy the rest of your day. Byeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Oh, Jayward - sending lots of (((hugs))) to you. No wonder you're feeling sorry for yourself - you have a lot to contend with at the moment. I hope things start looking up for you very soon. Happy Birthday to your DS.

Mrs Mix - how irritating - it's just as well you are used to it - some people never change, do they? (((Hugs))) to your dog.

Aussie - I now think you are VERY strange - how can anyone love spiders? What's so lovable about them? They're specifically designed to scare as far as I'm concerned, especially the killer varieties you get over there! And - you've just reminded me that it's coming up to spider season over here!

Welcome to Moneysavinghornette and RosyRed - we're a lovely bunch on here and you'll be given a very warm welcome!

NickM - our milkman comes really early - I just think he prefers early starts and early finishes and, also, there's no traffic about which makes it easier. There may be other reasons, though; I don't know if some milkmen have other jobs or commitments like looking after the children while their wives go out to work? I've never met an unhappy milkman - they all seem to love their work!

Well, I must go and get some work done. I've just been to the bank and then the shops to stock up on bread flour which I forgot when I did my main shop on Friday. I shall have a house full of wedding guests at the end of next week so I'm trying to plan the catering side of things this week! I have a feeling that next week is going to be slightly hectic!

    Anyway, will catch up later.
