    Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Aussie I'm usually too tight too (I print it off at work, no need to pay for paper or ink that way), but when it's not me paying...:D

Not in the new house yet, it seems to be taking ages. We settle either 8th or 15th August, depending on the vendor's solicitors and whether they get their act in gear. Can't wait!

I'm surprised it gets that cold up where you are too, but then I don't actually know that much about the winter climate of those regions :o

Good morning chums, had a terrific thunderstorm during the night which kept me awake for ages .I hoped it would cool things down a bit but the sun has just started shining again .
I spent a good hour last night watering my pots in the garden as well:mad:
So hot and sticky last night ,just had to have a cream soda ice cream float ,yummy.Too hot even for my G&T:eek:
Saw the oncologist yesterday and she is very pleased with all my results so far .She has said I can return to swimming again which is great. I have been put on Arimidex for 5 years which is a cancer inhibitor so fingers crossed that all will be well. I see the surgeon next week, and hopefully she will sign me off for at least a year. Things are definitely looking up at long last .Its been quite a year but I'm not sorry its almost over:j When you are told that you have this rotten discease you think its the end of the world but it's not, you just have to think positive and hope for the best .I certainly wasn't going to let it get to me I am far too cussed for that .My husband always said I was a stubborn old thing and I think he was right .
My eldest DD is in Florida at the moment and I'm off with the youngest and tribe to Norfolk at the end of next week. When we all finally are back from our jaunts I am going to take my two smashing DDs away for a nice week-ends break as a little thank you for all they have done over the past year.
This morning I am off to visit my eldest DD's ma-in-law in Barnehurst She has arranged for a link-up with my DD in Florida via their web-cam so I will see and speak to them at about mid-day today. Apparently they are having thunderstorms at the moment Fingers crossed that I will be able to get through o.k.
Hope you all have a nice day and <<<hugs>>> to all those in need
    take care all

Jackie0 - I'm so glad that your results are so good. You've been an inspiration to us all they way you have handled what has been a dreadful year for you. Good luck with the surgeon next week and enjoy the swimming!

    Good Morning All

Almo - Hope youve have a great Birthday  .

Many Thanks for the hugs re my Dad, didnt speak to him yesterday as went out for the day but will probably today, my sister did though & he sounded better. I think its just hard when you parents start seeming old iykwim.

Had a brilliant day at Frinton yesterday, the beach there is lovely. There was a nice sea breeze which kept us cool all day. The only downside was the traffic in Frinton but it was well worth it. Kids originally didnt want to go as its about 1hour away but I had to promise both on them they we will go back again. Nice as well as there are no shops or anything by the beach so just cost us the picnic and some diesel.

Today will be bit of a catch up day - paperwork, washing and ironing so hope it stays cooler. DS will play out most of the day and DD will too if she can get hold of her friends, if not she will occupy herself hopefully.

Lamb chops with home grown runner beans for tea.

    Have a great day.

Oh and JackieO - good news that the doc is pleased with you. We are off to Norfolk/Suffolk border end of next week too, cant wait.

Good morning everyone  We've had rain, too, so I'll need to dry my laundry indoors.

Good job I got plenty of time in the garden yesterday ;) I picked the rest of my cherries, and have a batch of jam on the go. I harvested the shallots, so will prepare a load of them for pickling today. Sadly, my garlic has white rot, so I need to see what I can salvage :o

Other Old Style jobs for today:
    • ironing
    • baking
    • prepare and chill chicken pie filling for DS's return tomorrow
    • pasta sauce for tea
    • get more chicken corn
    • start packing for our camping holiday :j
Took DH and DD to see Mamma Mia! What a brilliant film - the first film in ages that I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed a copy of :o And the soundtrack :T I've put Abba Gold onto my MP3 - the tracks are just the right speed to run to ;)

Last night I went to see my friend who's emigrating for the last time before she goes   Her DD was there and she wants to come and see my DD again.

    Morning all
Glad to hear it's all going so well JackieO.
I must go to the bank today as hubby finally got his cheque, he's gone to work today so we were up just after 5 to get him to the station on time.
It's cool here at the moment so I will do some ironing if it stays that way.
I'm doing savoury mince & new pots & veg from the garden for tea.
    Have a good day everyone
    Hugs Hester

Hello everyone, its bright and sunny here in MK, we had drop of rain, but not much just enough to wet the ground. However it does seem a few degrees cooler and more bearable. Going off the work shortly and DS to nursery, going to have new pots, pasta parcels and veg tonight. OH got paid yesterday, so we were a bit naughty last night and had a takeaway - chinese, been a long time since we've had one of those, it was lovely. Did nothing last night but think I needed it, tonight there is an ironing mountain to tackle.

    Morning everyone

    Almo Happy Birthday

    JackieO: Fantastic news

PenPen: Totally agree about Mamma Mia. My DH bought me the soundtrack as a surprise loving it in the car.

Off to work again today. Got a meeting with the boss this morning its already been cancelled twice so hopefully it will go ahead so we can get on with the project.

Tonight I'll have to tackle the ironing pile, its massive. It rained here last night and is rather grey so I won't be putting the washing out today but I'll stick it on the maiden before I leave.

    Have a good day everyone
