:hello: Good Morning!
Hoping it will be cooler today as I thought I would melt yesterday. Aussie will think we are wimps!
My ironing is piling up as well, had to laugh at the "wanted criminals" in your ironing pile DC, I used to put an old tablecloth over mine with a plant balanced on top to make a feature our of it!:rotfl:
Happy Birthday Almo :bdaycake: hope all goes well with the house move.
 Great news Jackie O you deserve it after being so brave and inspiring. Enjoy your chat with dd on the webcam today.
I still have Penny to walk not sure if we will do the long walk or wimp out and do the shorter route!
Off to set off the bm with a wholemeal loaf for the packed lunches.
lunch today will be left over pasta with left over pasta sauce (made using up all sorts of veg like aubergines, peppers, courgettes, runner beans etc., piling up in the freezer and a jar of passata, slug of red wine, basil all processed together)
Dinner tonight will be kedgaree followed by fruit salad (from freezer - I will get to the bottom of it one day!;) )
Have a lovely day and stay cool!

Morning everyone
And a very happy birthday to Almo. Enjoy your day.
Jackie O I mentioned in a post I lost yesterday how pleased I was to hear that your mammogram results were clear. You are truly an inspiration.
frugalswan good luck with your phone call today. I hope you get the venue you want.
Aussie you can rest assured that if I can ever afford to visit Oz, Lamb Island will be on the itinerary.Don't think I'll visit you in the winter though. No lettuce soup in winter.
Pen Pen I have only heard great reviews for Mamma Mia! I'm hoping to see it today with DS and DD.
Need to get some chicken out of the freezer for dinner tonight. Will probably do a stir fry as I have some noodles in the freezer taking up valuable space.
Glad I got all the washing done yesterday as it has been raining since 5.30am and doesn't look to be brightening up at all today. Still it means I can focus on getting the house back in order as there are bits and pieces from our holiday lying all over the place.
Have a tremendous Tuesday one and all. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

This is just a quick hello for now,
(((((((((HUGS))))))))) for all in need today,
I havent read through yet but will catch up when I get back.
I am off to a funeral at 9:30 so am in a bit of a rush, off for a shower when I have drunk my tea.
I have never been to a burial before ,its always been cremations, so I am not sure what to expect ,it is a catholic funeral so it will be quite a long one, so my friend says.
My poor friend she has had a lot to bear these last few weeks, first her husband died, then a week later her friend and now 4 wks later her mum died suddenly.
I will be back later

Not got much to say today  Just the usual - clean out the animals, bit of washing, bit of ironing blah blah blahMight make some Twinks  And a cake
I was calling Twink's hobnobs 'Twinkles' until miss troo had fits of laughter. I asked her exactly what was so funny and she said 'Can you remember what I used to call 'girlie bits' when I was about three years old?' :rotfl:I am a coffee bean0 -

I'm surprised it gets that cold up where you are too, but then I don't actually know that much about the winter climate of your nether regions
Aussie, glad the new supermarket is good, sounds strange having to get the ferry there though. I didn't realise it got that chilly there either - talk of thermals, log fires & muffins just doesn't "fit"..
Thundered here a bit yesterday evening & rained but it still feels so humid & heavy out. I love summer & sunshine, but this is just too hot & sticky for me.
Frugalswan, fingers crossed for the phone call then, must be a very exciting time for you J And how can you be thinking about thick fluffy blankets?!? Just the thought makes me melt a bit more…
Happy Birthday Almo :bdaycake:
N9eav, can you not have a word with the auctions & see if they have a double you could exchange it for??
JackieO – that’s an idea for my DD’s later, I might buy some coke & cream soda, & let them make ‘floats’ too, they’ll enjoy that. It’s lovely to hear you sounding (still) so positive & determined, you really have been inspiring.
Hope all those washing/ironing/packing for holidays get it all done in time. Haven’t seen MammaMia yet, but want to. Everyone who’s seen it has said how entertaining it is, sounds like just what’s needed.
Nice to catch up with my mates yesterday for coffee, I tried to be bright & cheerful but one of them said I seem “cross” rather than upset as she thought I would be & that about sums it up atm. I’m sure it will wear off if I keep occupied… And there are a couple of lovely OSer’s who are doing something very generous for me too J which has also given me a lift.
Anyhow, today pottering at home, am going to see if I can get a few boxes so I can properly sort out the boot sale stuff in my cabin & then bung it on freecycle. Also found a wooden mantelpiece someone can have.
Anyway, have a good day all.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
morning all,
we had a terrific storm last night, the rain as lashing down, and the thunder was so loud, little dog was hiding under the small table in the lounge. Its a bit cooler today which is nice, I'm sooooo glad I mowed the lawn in the swealtering heat yesterday  .
Going to pick my dd up today :T , she has been staying with a friend for two nights and I have missed her sooo much, its too quiet and everthing is staying tidy, little dog has slept on her bed, I think she is missing her too.
The stories about hubbies made me laugh yesterday, mine is not too bad, but the most annoying thing about him is that when he uses something he just leaves it lying around, does not put it back where he got it from, I find all sorts of things all over the place, and he seems incapeable of putting his cup in the dw, he leaves it and the spoon in the sink, which is right above the dw, I will forgive him though, cos he gets up every morning and brings me tea in bed :A .
Got some cold chicken and ham for tea, will do some mash and pickle, nice and easy, I need to pop into lidl when I pick dd up, I have run out of parmasan and theirs is delish, not sure I need anything else, but will have a look. Also need to nip into homebase to get wire stuff for my strimmer. Will then come home, and snuggle on sofa with dd, if she will let me.
Happy Birthday Almo xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all:D
In a rush to get to the docs for an asthma check, then into town to buy baby things:j :j DD's going crazy with hormones at the mo, her bf is quite scared and worried[STRIKE]I would be too[/STRIKE]   but she's mild compared to what I was like:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Anyway HUGGLES, CONGRATS ETC to all in need today, and I will be back later on with a shed load of baby stuff, my Mum's telling me don't buy till 12 weeks but...................:oI know she's right but .......:o

Kaat Lady - I agree, I've not been sleeping much because of the heat. It was probably about 4am yesterday. But in the process of being awake I found that our milkman comes at 3am. Any idea why?!
Mioliere - We had lots of rain too but it still feels really hot. But maybe that is just in this room, I haven't been outside yet.
Almo - Happy birthday
Well I decided it would be a good idea to go on a bike ride today with my friends. Which would be good, only it's quite hot still, and I have to cycle about 3 miles until I meet up with my friends. And I haven't cycled for years. So, it could be interesting to say the least :S0 -
Morning :hello:
Happy birthday Almo :bdaycake:
JackieO - :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j
((((hugs)))) to Pippa.S and anybody else who needs them.
Hope all are well - not meaning to ignore you but life is a bit mad at the moment!
I have at least one evening (Wednesday) and one whole day (Saturday) that are not spoken for at all this week, which means I need to strike a balance between doing necessary cooking and housework and doing NOTHING AT ALL which we all need to do once in a whileI need to remember to take some meat out of the freezer this evening because tomorrow night the plan is to make a pork and peanut butter pasta sauce and a Thai green chicken curry, both for the freezer.
On Saturday I MIGHT decide to get the train to Bromley (about 15 mins) to explore the new branch of Lakeland  or on the other hand I might find something to do that's less likely to end up costing me a fortune
Meanwhile I am working (reasonably) hard, and going to the Proms. Last night was an interesting concert - two Beethoven pieces including the 5th symphony, and a modern oboe concerto in the middle. This evening it's 4 pieces by 4 different composers (including the Bruch violin concerto). Yesterday I even went to the lunchtime chamber music concert (not very MSE, as it's not included in my season ticket, and I had to get into work REALLY early to justify such a long lunch break!) which was fab.
Got to go now, snowed under at work, and my boss is on holiday which makes it a great opportunity to get things done without interruptions.
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape
