Yes it is very funny and strange how with the 0845 number you get all the options then they cut you off saying they are very business i've try ringing 9.00 oclock on the dot for half hour and did not get through they got the cheek to say they are open from 8.00am - 8.00pm.
My child tax credit is now been reinstated and the lady told me to just check my bank to see if the money has been sent.0 -

No it is a priority line, who ever you spoke to was telling porky pies, I hope you got a name and I may be wrong but IIRC anyone who has an 0845, 0870 type number has to allow the use of a normal number as well, I think there is a website where you can check these.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

Received tax creds award for 2010/2011 showing a large change in payments as they assumed my daughter was leaving full-time education.Had been trying to get through for weeks to advise that my daughter was staying on into 6th form at school. Wrote to advise them on 4th June. No acknowledgement received. Started calling them again but had same trouble as everyone else again and again. Rang the 01355 359007 number and got through straight away. Very helpful. No questions about if I was calling from abroad or not. Maybe they have stopped getting snotty about it because they are aware that the main helpline number it totally bogged down? Was advised that they had received my letter and the information was now on the system. Should be ok from September. Phew.
If you are getting desperate, ring the above number.0 -
Ive been trying all yesterday and this morning as i wanted to order a claim pack but keep getting the 'were very busy at the moment' message follwed by hanging up. Tried again today at 12.45 and to my surprise it actually started ringing and then started playing music. Was on hold for 15 mins before my call was answered! Thank goodness!!! Seems like im one of the lucky ones! Good luck to everyone trying to get through hope you're successful soon.0

I have been trying to get through for a few days now too - need to inform of a change of circumstances. It's only the second time I have had to call them and I am very surprised at how bad it is. I held on for 40 mins yesterday during the time that their website says is their quieter time usually. Held for another 20 mins today.
I am phoning the 0845 number which is annoying me. When I looked at Saynoto0870, there was a discussion about them not taking your call if you phone on the international number and being really rude. Has anyone experienced this?
I managed to get straight through on 01355 number, when I asked why I got through so quickly the lady said it was a number for people abroad( why do they not have to sit in ques to ???)
They shouldn't be helping people in the UK on that number so I was best not to call it again but she offered to help me this time.0 -
I've been ringing and ringing and ringing.. and admit it's getting rather stressful! :mad:0

I went to saynoto0870 and tried the 01355 359007 and 028 9053 8192 with the same results .
I tried the 01355 359007 and got through straight away I rang 9.00 oclock on the dot couldn't believe when i got through because with the 0845 it was a waste of time and energy.0
