    Hi all

Thank you so much for the warm welcome, this is a fab thread and you are always so kind and helpful!

As always, well done to the losers and good luck for the less-than-losers!

Meanwhile on planet Caterina: the road to hell is paved with good intentions of course! today I was meant to start again, but had a relative visiting and I accompanied him to visit London. In the rush to go out I forgot about breakfast and had a small but lovely h/m blackberry muffin at my friend's on our way to the station.

Then at the British Museum cafe I had a gorgeous slab of strudel (the best choice slim-wise I felt, full of apple and very little pastry).

Then to Loch Fyne restaurant where, with the £11 for 2 courses (inc. 1 glass of wine!) voucher, we dined like kings for not very much money at all. I had some bread and butter while waiting for my starter of smoked salmon pate with oatcakes. Then had a mackerel fishcake with side vegetables.

I gave my relative my glass of wine as I do not drink alcohol.

All in all so far so good, for a "normal" day, but really not a very careful "diet" day.

I could have avoided the bread and butter at lunch and possibly be better organised in the morning and have breakfast so I would not fall on my friend's muffin!

I do not regret the strudel or the main lunch as they would have fitted in a normal diet day, if I had been careful in other aspects.

Tonight I was planning to cook a very calorie-rich risotto with mushrooms and saffron, and a mozzarella and tomato salad, but as it happens my relative is unwell, the kids want to order a pizza, so my DH and I are going to eat the leftover "Hippy Slop" from last night, which is a brown rice and veg stew really! We add hot water, some defrosted cooked aduki beans and turn it into a soup. This, at least, is good for diet as it is full of veg., rice is brown and organic, and there is very little fat.

Wish me luck for tomorrow, the day I am really starting over!

    Love to all

    Caterina
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Sorry I had to rush out this morning, OH was impatient as usual ( he loves spending money!) and then kept me waiting 10 minutes while he finished something off....grrrrrrrrrrrr!

    Had a salmon sandwich for lunch, very plain, no butter, just a little mayonnaise and salt and nice chunk of home baked salmon;

    Dinner was beef stew, which had lots of veggies in, followed by an apple;

Snacks: Large plum, pear, 4 pints water.

Weigh in to-morrow, not very hopeful as it has been a very mixed week.

Sleep well, everybody, especially the newbies....advancing senility means that I have already forgotten your name, when we have all been here for 10 years will probably remember!

    Evening all,

Apols for the short post before - busy, busy bee that i try and bee. Anyway i managed to stick to my food today.

I don't know how I'm managing not to binge so far. Just a brief history - been overweight all my life - a product of using food .(for various reasons) During this time, i've managed to lose and put on weight, but this feels different. Perhaps its because i'm taking it seriously, perhaps i have my snacks all organised, perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.....

The one thing i know is that tomorrow i need to keep on my toes - and i'm alright with that - because i'd rather that than gorging so i take each day as it comes.... If need be - each minute...

And of course, i know i can always come on here and read how everyone's doing - so keep posting - i need you all :A

    Food tomorrow

    3 wheetabix and milk
fresh pea soup and 1 bread and turkey
    frozen fruit and yoghurt
something for dinner - no idea right now - something from the freezer??
    jelly....

    Keep positive everyone.....

    morning all!

good luck to those weighing in today!;)

    welcome to Misty:hello:

I've got 4 days off now:j am waiting in this morning for a workman to fit an airbrick in my lounge. I have been given loads of apples so am going to make some crumbles for the freezer - healthy oaty topping on mine I think with a few added nuts.

I have been stuck in a rut lately with my evening meals - its difficult to plan because DH and I eat different things(no meat for me) and I feel like a change but just dont know what to do. I just cant seem to get my hear in gear to make any plans and my veggie cooking is not up to much.
Anyway so far I've had 1 slice of toast, will let you know later what else I come up with.
I might throw some soup together this morning - I've got lentils and a sweet spud somewhere.

Have a good day all x

    Hi Everyone,

Im back again, you will all be fed up with me coming and going, but, I was diagnosed with depression by the doctor, and I was comfort eating, and basically he told me not to bother about the eating side of things just now, so, I wasnt, and now, im not kicking the a**e of 11 stone :o .
I had been trying to fight this myself, trying to fix out my house, etc, and it just wasnt working, so, now you know my shameful secret.

Anyway, my SIL has just emigrated to Canda (another thing im so down about, I loved her to bits), and she was staying with me for a while, so, now that she is away, and I have to say Im a bit better in my mind, I thought I would try to start the healthy eating again.

Today the plan is as follows:-

    Breakfast - cereal

Lunch - soup (out of a tin im afraid)

Dinner - HM margarita (sp) pizza with salad.

No doubt I will have the odd bit of chocolate today, but, im going to try to limit it to one or 2 fun size bars.

Im ever so sorry that I keep coming and going on this thread, and I really do hope no one minds me coming back.

Jackie - welcome back! of course we dont mind you popping in and out. I'm sorry to hear of your depression, my closest friend is suffering greatly with this at the moment and it is so hard to watch her struggle. She too has a weight issue which is't helped by only eating once a day. I'm trying to encourage her to have 3 meals a day but she finds it so hard.
I hope your depression soon lifts. x
