I think my biggest problem is wine
OH could drink for england so often find self sharing 1 or 2 bottles at weekends or before days off
Could really do with advice to help us stop this (if I mention we drinking too much he gets defensive though...) and I do like a wee drink so don't want to quit completely. I would be happy with a glass or two on a weeknight but he needs more-any advice0 -
Well I've been off on my hols and just caught up with you all. Had a nice time in Austria with plenty of walking, cycling and swimming (bread, cheese, icecream and wine  ). Hopped on the scales this morning and am 10st 7lb, but am hoping that after a day or 2 off the alcohol I'll have only put on a 1lb
.
Hotcookie101. You could try just getting the small bottles of wine, some of the supermarkets have a good selection, which can limit the amount you have. Depending if you're having red or white, white you can 'water down' with soda water to make it a longer drink. To resist the temptation of wine I've been buying bottles of cider (although some of them contain 6 units  ), but if I have a pint glass and do 1/3 or 1/2 cider and the rest soda, it does the alcohol hit, can last 2 or 3 evenings and is quite :money: .
Seems the toad has been doing his rounds again, well done Frogga for giving him good kicking, you know yourself that if you'd been allowed to take next week off, you'd have been really annoyed with yourself, especially when starting your new job.
Anyway - better go and see if I can catch up with the Grocery thread at all!0 -
Hi all,
Welcome to the newcomers - and yes everyone's welcome!!!!
Best advice i was given was to write down what i ate - especially on my bad days so i can never say i should be losing weight after eating a ton of food.
Next try and plan what your going to eat - you don't have to stick to it, but at least it should give you a framework and stop any massive binges.
Try and find some low fat comfort food - but make sure you allow yourself food you enjoy too. This is about losing weight not restricting yourself so make sure you have your treats.
If anyone else has any others - we could put them together in a sticky or something???
Hugs always

Today I ate leftover chinese deep fried salt and chilli ribs (probably about 2/3 of an orginal portion, v bad for me I know, but I didn't get a reply whether it was safe to freeze), a very small (less than ladleful) bolognese, with 70g pasta
Plus 1 bottle of wine  and lots of black coffee
I said it was my weakness0 -
Not been too bad today, ate bread with dinner which I hadn't planned on but have had 3 apples and lots of water, so not feeling too guilty.
Welcome to newbies...slm, natty, Sian and hotcookie...lots of support available and advice given here
Going to bed early to-night, had two late nights in a row and I'm too old for that!
Sleep well all,

Well the meals I had planned for today went out the window, thought we were meeting at 1 for lunch so didn't have any breakfast but as it turned out we didnt eat until 3 so I was starving.
Had a turkey carvery meal with 1 small stuffing ball, 1 roastie and a small yorkshire and lots of veg. Then came home and had apple and blackcurrant loaf with custard on it but thats all I have had today so I should be OK.
Off to my friends tomorrow so some form of eating out will be involved, I will just have to be careful.
Take care all X0 -
Hi All,
Can I join? I'm not overweight in the BMI sense (but only just at the edge of my limit!) as I've lost most of my baby weight easily enough. But the last 12 lbs are proving impossible! And I've been 'trying' to lose it for over a year now. So obviously I need a good kick up the backside. Maybe I'm just getting complacent but I think I'm just too tired to diet as my youngest hasn't slept through until recently (he's 21 months).
So I'm trying to lose 12lbs to go back or at least close to my pre babies weight. I'm trying for a double whammy of calorie counting (allowing myself 1800 but not counting fruit & veg calories) and running (3 times a week).
Today I've had:
B: Bowl of Grape Nuts/milk/sugar
L: 1 Slice toast & scrambled eggsPork stir-fry and Noodles, eton mess
Snacks: 1 Corn thin and 3 oatcakes smeared with Jam.
In total around 1600 calories but as I said I don't count fruit&Veg (except potatoes)
No exercise today though...
Thanks and good luck to all!0 -
