It's not fair! We gals have to keep to about 1500 calories if we're going to lose weight. Some of us would kill to be allowed 2000. Goes off to sulk...;)

Trust me I realise I'm luck to have a higher metabolic rate. Although I have a binge level of 2134, I know I shouldn't really eat any more than 2000, but my average for the last 100 days is 1660 kcals ( as I'm writing this I realise it sounds really anal in a way, but the whole point is I have to work at stopping my binging as much as anyone else.)

Some of my binge days could have been in the 3000 kcals which is were it gets scary

    Todays food

    B- 2 toast and turkey
L- Soup and 1 bread and turkey
    D - Turkey roast
S - My oh so lovely jelly

    Kcals about 1400 I hope!!!

    Good luck to everyone:A

  • Only teasing, Rambler!;)

I've had a bad few weeks, food-wise. Three weeks in France, with the inevitable four or five course meals and the wine (oh, the wine!) have taken their toll and been followed by some social occasions where eating was necessary in order not to look rude.

However, I've just weighed myself and after a week or two back on normal eating I'm only 1lb more than before I went to France. That's still too much, mind, but at least I've proved that I've established an eating pattern (not a diet) that I can maintain, so that if I overindulge occasionally, the excess weight just slips off without my noticing when I get to normal eating again. That was my primary objective, so I'm really pleased. :j

  • Hi everyone,

I'm back and feeling really motivated. Have got all the things out of the way that were ditracting me and now I'm really focussed on my weight loss again. Have lost for the past couple of weeks so know I am back on track, no more yo-yoing for me!

    Food today:

    B - Shredded wheat, apple

    L - probably a batchelors pasta n sauce

D - thinking along the lines of baked potato & savoury chicken rice

Have a great week all and I now really want to join the september challenge!

    Morning all,

I am hoping for a good day today as I felt a bit crappy about the way I look yesterday, which normally would have sparked a binge but because I was so busy I didn't have time to even stop for a pee!

So I shall try to get back on with being saintly and do some exercise next week to speed things along a little.

B: Bran Flakes with semi milk
    L: Carvery out somewhere
D: Probably not very much, maybe a tuna sandwich if I am hungry.

Have a good day all :)
  • Afternoon all, welcome slm and natty!

Oooo-err, think I'd keel over after a couple of days on that copenhagen diet!

Been busy decorating my bedroom over the weekend, its not finished yet but really pleased with my efforts so far and haven't had time to even think about food which is an added bonus! Had weetabix and 'nana for brekkie yesterday, sarnie for lunch, beans on toast for tea, today will be more or less the same.

Biglass, I went to see Mamma Mia last night, loved it!!

Anyhow, off to get lunch then back to the decorating. See you later folks:D

    Afternoon all,

Had 2 rashers, 2 sausages, piece white pudding and several slices fried potato for breakfast, going to have apple and banana for lunch and crab tagliatelle for dinner...might have some fresh pineapple for pudding, snacks will be more apples and maybe some stewed rhubarb.

    Welcome to that newbies

    Have a good day all

  • Hi, please can I join in? In the last 2 years I have put on about 1 1/2 stone and I wasn't skinny before :). I love cooking and as I tend to cook only for myself I do eat well and eat a lot. My weaknesses are pasta and massive bowls of microwave popcorn, hardly healthy but a quick and easy snack. I need to really look at lunches and not snacking at work, there are always biscuits and cakes and when you are running about it is really easy to grab a biscuit on your way out. I think MSE is a fab tool for encouragement and I have been reading how you lot encourage one another and I would like to get in on the action :)

Can I join? Currently 11 st 3 (although scales change by up to a pound within 5mins :() and only 5 foot 4. ideally would like to get back to pre-quit smoking weight of 9&1/2, but if can get back to pre-OH weight of 10stone would be happy :D
Have lost about 10 pounds in last 6-7months by not giving self same size portions as OH but seem to have tapered off now :(
Was always a pretty healthy size 10/12 until got together with him and started eating (and drinking) way too much! Now 14 can be snug :embarasse
Would really appreciate any advice how I can get kick-started again. Work full time, 8-6 or 8.30-7(ish) plus some weekends so tend to cook in batches, or make quick meals during week. OH does cook but tends towards the roast dinners and belly pork type meals (at least belly pork is cheap eh?) We eat FR or organic pork and poultry, but will eat any sort of lamb or beef (pork/poultry is welfare choice) and find it hard to persuade OH that a meal without meat is a meal! I can't eat shellfish but love fish, but seem to be in a rut with it...
I LOVE my food (quitting smoking does amazing things for taste buds-I smoked most of my adult life (well child-life as well, quit nearly 4 years ago when was 26 and started when 12:eek:) and refuse to compromise on quality and welfare, but love meals made with thrifty (and hopefully cheap) things.
really want to lose another stone by end of october but realise that is silly, so my aim is -9 lbs in 9 weeks-is this doable?
