Hi all, been busy for a few days so not made it onto the thread - and now there is a new one
My goal is still to try and lose 3½ lbs - as they seem to be stuck safely to my butt
Went out for the day yesterday to some farm shops/charity shops and fishmongers. One farm shop was lots cheaper than the other
Food today:
breakfast - erm didn't want any but had a pack of crisps
snacks - pear, white nectarine
lunch - rye bread with mild ewe's cheese and sliced tomato.
snacks - english cherries
Tea - smoke salmon omelette - proper farm eggs
Sorry frogga didn't have any marmite in the house to try your recipe
Hope everyone has a good day.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Afternoon all,
Having had a weekend when I can't even remember what I ate or drank, never mind post a list, I am now going full steam ahead with watching myself and trying to lose my one pound a month.
OH and I brought DD2 for a driving lesson this morning, had a look at kitchens, bought some meat and had breakfast while we waited...I had glass of water, toasted bacon sandwich and caff! latte...just having tea now, then off to airport with DS1, DDIL1 and DGD2...they are back to Amsterdam but back on 13th August to live in Cork, so only 3 hours away at most, which will be good.
Have a good day all, congratulations to all losers and hugs to those who are, like myself, struggling to lose anything.

Here you go Toni....
Look what recipe i have just found
HEALTHY FLAPJACKSserves 18
174 cals 8.5g fat 3.5g sat fat each-
100g dried fruit
-
100g oats
-
50g puffed rice
-
85g desicated coconut
-
50g blanched almonds -
-
50g mix of sunflower, sesame and pumpkin seeds
-
100g sugar
-
125ml syrup
-
100g spread
-
mix 1-4 in a large bowl
-
toast 5+6 and add to dry ingredients
-
warm 7-9 in a small pan and cook gently for 2 mins to thicken
-
stir the syrup mix into the dry items
-
turn out onto a lightly greased and lined non-stick oven tray
-
mark out into 18 and place in the fridge for at least 2hrs to set before serving
I think that these would make a great base for varying what fruit etc you add... you could use coco pops instead of crispies for kids, choc chips etc:TI reckon that if you put the bowl of mix into the fridge to cool slightly you could roll small balls of it like truffles to save cals and make them go further..bet they will keep in the fridge for a while...ooooooohhhh and just to keep frogga happy im sure they would be perfect eaten with mashed nanas -just so i use all the ingredients :rotfl:-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

10past6 - am glad you're feeling a bit better! I think you need a more filling breakfast - porridge was a good idea or I find eggs(poached or scrambled or boiled)really keep me going with a slice of wholemeal toast - anything wholegrained is good as they are slow release so keep your sugar levels up, you could also try a sliced banana with your cereal.
Thanks for the idea about porridge, somehow I missed Katt's post above, however, I think I'll give this a try, is Ready Brek the same?Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

Ooooh meatballs and dime bars?
YUK !!! at meatballs.....the veggie pasta's nice though:think: and the blueberry dessert.......
I didn't want any lunch as I'd had my breakfast at half ten but an eccles cake leapt into my mouth and now I feel really bloated _pale_
Just sent OH to the shop for some Andrews salts. my mum always swore by them to 'sort you out' when0 -
Hello taplady
Thanks for the idea about porridge, somehow I missed Katt's post above, however, I think I'll give this a try, is Ready Brek the same?
ready brek is more refined than porridge oats so will not fill you up for as long but its probably better than cornflakes!
MRSM - I know what you mean about the muesli - on SW it is only 28g  which is about 1 big mouthful:D so I bulk mine out with a banana or just have a bit more!;)Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hiya:hello: ,
Seems like ages since I last posted but have been keeping my beady eye on you all. Welcome to all you newbies, it's great to meet you.
I feel like Frogga's avitar at the mo, and can only put it down to the two slices of seeded bread with HM blackcurrent jam I had for lunch, groan. The problem with all this lovely fruit and veg we're growing is that I keep eating it! Peas straight from the pods, yum yum, hardly any have reached the cooking stage.
I will wait till Thursday to WI and then decide what to do about August, if I haven't put on it will be amazing.
Can I recommend Oatabix with fruit (banana, grapes etc) and a dollop of set yogurt with SS milk as a very filling breakfast and it lasts in the tum for ages. RS said she found the oatabix bite size very filling to.
Signing off as its gone pitch black and the thunder is rumbling, so much for walking the dogs at present. Don't fancy getting soaked and frazzled  .
Have a great day all, and watch out for the toad!!!!!!
