Ooooh Mrs M, those brownies are right up my street ..... got a jar of morrello cherries in I don't really know what to do with, do you reckon I could use them instead of the cranberries? Then again, choc and cherry brownies in the house..... might be a bit risky even hidden in the depths of the freezer!!:p
I'm delighted with the new bathroom flooring, what a difference!!:T
Toni, my August target is going to be 3.5 pounds.... which would take me to my target of 8 stone 7:D Should be do-able if I keep my halo on but it's been there for a couple of weeks now and must be about due for a big style slip.... probably the second I arrive back in work next Monday morning!!0 -

Hi all
just thought i'd list some useful weightloss tips that have been passed to me.
1. Dont drink alot of water just before eating as it stretches your stomach and then drains away quickly leaving you feeling hungry quicker.
2. If you find portion control hard using a smaller/dish plate helps as it looks more.
3. Frozen grapes or bananas are a great sweet tasty treat for this time of year.
4. Try not to eat on the go as you wont feel like you've had anything.
5. Meal plans are great and they can save you money on shopping to , if you find sticking to them to hard then just chose 7 breakfasts , lunchs , dinners and snacks and then mix and match.
If anyone can think of any please add and i will when i think of more i know there in there somewhere.

My top tips would be:
- Weigh out your cereal. I now have 30g I was prob having more than double that when I wasnt weighing it
- Reduce the amount of pasta/rice/cous cous you have and increase the amount of veg you have instead to make up for it. I now have 75g pasta/rice (used to have 100g) or 50g cous cous
- Have planned healthy snacks at regular times rather than grazing throughout the day/evening.
- Dont eat your evening meal after 6PM
Food planned for tomorrow:
B: 1 weetabix 1 toast & OJ, L cous cous salad, D bolognaise, S yop/fruit
Take care everyone

Just a quick check-in to say that myAugust target will be 4 lbs I am going for a realistic one this time as I never seem to be able to hit mine!
P.S In Home and Bargain today I spotted that they had a tiny little weighing scales (for food) for 99p, just the job for me weighing cereal in work as it fits nicely in my desk drawer :T0 -
Hi thanks for the welcome & useful tips.
Not had a bad day today although had to change my meal plan when I had a distress call from Mum.
She thought her fridge/freezer was on the blink but after a mercy dash from straight from work (without lunch!!) it turned out she had turned it off at the socket & not noticed!!
Breakfast: fruit & fibre & skimmed milk
Snack: Grapes
Lunch: force fed fish pie by Mum!! (should have been prawns with home grown salad!!)
Dinner: HM Chicken Korma & rice
snack: SF jelly with fruit
See you tomorrow!!:j New Year, New You = 1.5lb/12lb:j0 -
ready brek is more refined than porridge oats so will not fill you up for as long but its probably better than cornflakes!
Thx for the help, I'm learning as I'm going along here, so, may I ask? what's the problem with cornflakes? I've had a bowl everday for years, I even have a bowl at supper time :eek:Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -

its not that there's anything wrong with them its just that there's better choices which are healthier and will fill you up for longer and not leave you hungry again a short time later possibly reaching for snacks. They are very processed which means your body digests them very quickly unlike oats or whole grain cereals which are slow release and keep you going for longer.Do what you love :happyhear0 -
I will have a good day today....I will have a good day today......
Wholemeal toast with banana and a drizzle of honey for brekkie, egg and cottage cheese salad for lunch and cauldron sausage, mash and cabbage for tea. Fruit and low sugar jelly for snacks and a swim at lunchtime,!:D0
