He also has a huge chocolate cake which will last us all week:rolleyes: but I will incorporate small slice into my diet rather than stepping away from the dietwell thats the plan anyway!!!

Hey Gang....had one of those days where you get the need to keep poking stuff in yer gobbole cuz you know you'll be sitting on the loo forever & a day...or is that just me
I KNOW I've had these times--about three times a year--since I was a kid; it's a really weird sensation---like stuffing a suitcase & having to sit on the lid to make it lock:o Thankfully it's been slightly better food choices in later years, with big bowls of cereal being the No1 must have.....p'raps my body is craving summat from the minerals catagory:rolleyes:
MrsMc, do you not need to bake the healthy flapjack once you mix the wet & dry together? Just wanted to check cuz this recipe sounds really scrummie:p I've also noticed it says 'low fat spread' in your latest recipes--would this be from the ultra-new cookbooks you've acquired? I was wondering if your sister's health team had given any advice on things like processed food, following a discussion we had on here about a million posts ago when we were all talking about various sweetners, butter vs low fat spread, supposed "diet" foods....sorry if I've spoken out of turn:o
What can my AIA Challenge be:rolleyes: ......I've still got a coupla days so can I get back to you on that?

Well I'm going to have a go. I'm currently 14 stone and 5 ft 1in and I want to get down to my pre-family rearing weight of 10st 7. I haven't been that weight since I left sixth form. I'm not going to try and do it all in August, but I'm starting by cutting out ALL snacks and drinking more water. I'll see how I go. Losing a stone in August would make me pretty happy!
*hugs*

Hi MummaF
Nope....no cooking of the flapjacks required..i haven't tried them myself yet..just spotted it after Toni mentioned wanting to use oats + puffed rice thingy majiggies :rotfl:
Both that recipe and the choc brownies are actually out of the slim at hom mags -obviously not word for word because of copyright laws etc
I haven't spoken to my sisters Medical team -because she didn't let us know how bad she was ... not even her hubby -but then the Drs told her that at least him and my niece NEEDED to know -so the docs told them... Sis never wanted to know a timescale or anything -which i don't blame her for at all - i wouldn't want to know either i don't think.
Thats why now my Dr is having to contact her specialist (luckily i had a name and number) to find out what ovarian she had exactly, and what gene they need to be checking on me... as soon as i know im on the phone to my niece to give her the information to make sure she goes and gets sorted -even if i have to go back and drag her... I would like to have thought that the medical team would have had words with her -but i don't think they have
I had changed what i was eating when i started on her a year ago... then when I found out what sis had, i decided to start a defence attack with my own body... thats why i got the nutritional health book and the gillian mckeith one-the strange thing is that i eat most of the really good for preventing/fighting cancer stuff anyway -so i haven't had to change much.. i have increased my wholegrains etc...
and i have cut down on the animal fats -so on the very rare occasion i use spread i have some dairyfree soya spread -which isn't low fat (that i got whoopsed and you can cook with it too).... the recipes i post ..i say low fat if they do -but i don't use low fatand the only artificial sweeteners i have now are when i have my SF jelly
..but i love them sooooo..i do cram them with fruit mind :A :rotfl: ..when these have gone though (and i do have a few) im going to start putting fruit through the juicer and making my own jelly -so i haven't gone back to low fat/sugar stuff... mind i buy very little "made" stuff anyway..
and noooo you haven't spoken out of turn at all.. i don't mind folks asking me anything
Have to say that this book:-
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Guide-Nutritional-Health-Overcoming/dp/1844830101
Is one of the best books i have got..i only paid -i think £4.99 in the "bookworks" and its full of recipes as well as info on what foods have what in and what they are good/bad for
right im back off into the garden -then im having my lunch.. i went out into the garden straight off of here this morning so missed brekkie and mid morn snack -6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Afternoon all,
For a few years have had a problem with swollen ankles...not so bad if the weight is down a bit, but my left ankle is huge at present and doesn't seem to go back to normal at night...anyone got any ideas which might help...for instance I know that parsley tea and celery are both helpful...anything else in the same vein from one of you clever people. Usually drinking extra water helps, but doesn't seem to be helping and at present I think that there is not going to be any weight loss on Friday...help!
Have just eaten 'breakfast' a few minutes ago....apple, banana, three slices homemade rye bread with cream cheese...going to try to stay with drinking water most of the day
Have a good day all

Hi all,
Think I might have to overhaul my food choices at the weekend because although I eat sensible foods, I find it a chore to eat instead of enjoying it. Perhaps I have been eating the same things for too long, partly because its so easy to pick up a frozen soup portion and eat porridge in work as I have a huge bag of oats in my desk drawer. Everything else seems to take too much planning or involve bread/potatoes/rice/pasta which I steer clear of as I get terrible blood sugar swings even with seeded wholemeal and wholegrain versions. Might have a look and see what everyone else has for lunch and try and use those as a template. I leave for work at 7.15 and don't get home until 7 or 8 so I don't have a huge amount of time for cooking which is why soup suits me because I cook a huge pot at the weekend.
B: Porridge with half skimmed milk half water
L: HM veg soup, an appleScouse with beetroot and red cabbage
S: Skinny cappuccino (made me feel really sick, think I might lay off coffee for a while)0 -
Hi all,
Food today has been:
Soaked oats with raisins and chopped nana
grapes, nectarine, pear
ham, egg and tomato baguette- from the sandwich man - but there was no mayo in it
Tea will be chicken and pepper wraps.
meanmarie - have you tried raising your feet up - in the evening sit with your feet slightly higher than your hips (on another chair) or at night put a pillow under your feet to raise them slightly? It's meant to help the lymph glands drain or somethingworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
