Hello everyone - I jsut had a quick read through of the thread and welcome to all the newbies!
Marie - I get the swollen ankles thing too - I definitely know that mine is made much worse if I eat sugary foods or too much bread and pasta - don't know why. I find that if I don't get enough sleep that also makes it worse.
Right! I am in such a bad mood today. I have eaten rubbish for two days and my cast is getting on my nerves and I am trying to decorate in the front room and DD2's bedroom and the kids keep messing everything up and it is driving me MAD. I have just removed 2 bath towels, a dirty plate cup and glass, dirty knickers and socks and two empty water bottles from the front room table. I don't do well when the place is messy - it gets me panicky.
I have decided that my target for August will be just to go the WHOLE month without bingeing and any weight loss will be a bonus!
I haven't had anything to eat today because I am so angry with the kids for the way they are carrying on...
I hope to post later when I am in a better mood!Jane

floyd - I get bored of food too. I have to mix it up a bit as otherwise I give in and eat fattening foods.
I try and buy more expensive but healthy foods as treats for myself. So I buy tinned boneless salmon or smoked salmon, expensive ciabatta rolls for a change, cherries, white nectarines etc. I only seem to like expensive fruit(or I buy low fat oven chips when I really want the chippy)
I find if I do that, then I enjoy my lunch or tea and don't go routing around for something "else" after I've eaten. So go shopping and think "what is healthy but tastes lovely" (and don't walk down the biscuit, cake or chocolate aisles!!).
rs - I woke up well grumpy today - not sure if it's coz of TOTM or just the hot weather - OH insists on having winter weight duvet on all year round :rolleyes:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
its not that there's anything wrong with them its just that there's better choices which are healthier and will fill you up for longer and not leave you hungry again a short time later possibly reaching for snacks. They are very processed which means your body digests them very quickly unlike oats or whole grain cereals which are slow release and keep you going for longer.
Many thanks for the that :A I hadn't thought about them in that way, see, one is never to young to learn :rotfl:
Once I finish the stock of cornflakes I have in, porridge it will be.

How many times have I told you to put your dirty knickers straight in the laundry?Honestly RS , that really is the limit!
Hope you are all having a nice day. I'm bored. Tadpole 1 said "bored people are boring" "there are plenty of things you could do ; read a book , get a game out, tidy up et.c" But they were all boring suggestions so I thought I'd just mope around and sulk and get on everyones nerves instead
Well, my determination to be good today lasted right up til breakfast  Am really getting on my own nerves now. The Tadpoles and I are going out for the day tomorrow and then on Friday 1st August I WILL start again, againIf I can get a few days under my belt I'll be OK.
It's our 18 wedding Anniversary on Saturday so that will be an excuse to eat badly too. But If I dont get a hold of it shortly all the weight that I lost since May will go back on  SO I will REALLY try to be good for all of August like RS. NO PIGGING AT ALL Surely even I can do thatSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Newlywed... sounds odd but have you thought about single duvets? out here you can't get double matresses you get 2 single ones that join together so you can have different firmnesses and you get single duvets too...
I can't believe anyone is under a duvet at the moment  our gets rolled off and on to the floor when we go to bed.. we have 1 sheet, that normally ends up in a heap until early morning when it cools and hubby reckons i wrap myself up in it so he goes coldwe have both windows open and the fan on at the moment...
If OH insists on the winter duvet i would wait until he went to sleep and then fold it back so he has a double layer on himthat might do the trick..i am mean
:rotfl:
Marie..
the only other thing i have read that i recall is that barley is good for fluid retension-looked it up and it said to pour 1litre of boiling water over 100g barley grain and leave to stand for 3 hours then strain and drink inplace of water (think i would have to add a bit of dilute/squash to it)
Right i will get off and catch up on everything else..have a great evening all and keep up the good work...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

I have tried the roll the duvet onto him - but I find my shoulders get cold in bed sometimes - and I don't really want to be wearing a t-shirt
We did have a sheet and a duvet cover last year and so the duvet ended up all on him and I get the sheet. But he doesn't really like the sheet as he gets tangled up in itMight just sneak the sheet back on when I change the bedding and say it's that or the summer weight duvet
The heat is more noticeable on nights we have the kids stay - as then we make sure we have our bedroom door locked all night- other nights the door's open and seems a bit cooler.

Hi MrsM :hello: Me and Tadpole 1 made candles
They look nice and I have sneakily dissappeared now it's time to clean up
About the duvet thing ~ I have a King Size duvet and a double quilt on top. I also have a duvet under the sheetI am cold blooded don't forget and I honestly get chilli at night. We do live near to Felixstowe so the breeze from the sea comes in through the windows. I did take my socks off last night though so it must have been warm

Hmmm maybe my hubby is a frog!!!! Nah don't think so, he walks round the house in just shorts for most of the evening and days off so he can't be that cold bloodedworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi Everyone, another newbie here!
well, after a big push before going on holiday at easter this year i've slipped right back into old habits and have put on a stone on top of my bikini weight, eek! i've read back through this thread and it seems to be working for you guys so i'd like to join you please?!
my current weight is 11st4 (eek, i'm 5'6!) and so my awesome in august target is going to be 10st8 (8lbs loss).
i know this is probably a bit optimistic, as i also have weekends away and birthday parties this month but i have a wedding to go to at the end of september and determined to look nice in my dress (i'd really love to be 10st by then)
thanks for the great prompt and here's my first daily post (just hope i can stick to it tonight!):
b - fruitnfibre w skimmed milk and a bit of all bran
l - cheese salad sandwich, yoghurt
s - melon
d - cauldron sausage with some veg (whatever's left from this week's box) and maybe a couple of crackers w cheese
cycled into work today (10k each way) and maybe go for a lap or two of the park when i get home, see how i feel
good luck everyone!0
