    I have the same problem Chris ~ Mr Frog eats really late at night and picks at all sorts of carp like cake, crisps and sweets while sitting next to me on the setee so I can smell every mothfull. I can even taste it :mad: from the smell in the air.

    I have found the best way to deal with it is to throw a real temper tantrum, sulk, huff and puff alot and then stomp off to bed shouting "Oh you're SO insesitive!" ;)

  • Had a very bad day yesterday. This seems an ongoing story this week, must change the record.
    Boss has brought in big jar of sweets which I just cannot resist and after work I stopped for petrol and bought MORE sweets.Ate so many choc eclairs I couldn't face dinner! Then later on was starving so had big bowl of mandarins with yog and honey.
    This morn have had 4 oat biscuits with lemon and lime marmalade. What do others put on oat biscs, they are so dry? I don't want to use butter or spread or cheese and don't eat meat. 2 Eggs boiling to have before work. No idea for lunch, dinner - lots of veg to use up so salad of some sort.

    Hello again all

    Well done on the losse folks..and super well done frogga for being consistant:j way to go Mrs :T

    Back from my walk to the garden centre- got 4 more of those rose arches- 2 of the boxes were bashed so they put them through @ €1..so 4 arches for €6 :T can't wait for next season to get my beans, peas n squash growing up them:D

    Procrastinator.. i know it might seem strange.. but could you use one of the petrol pumps where you pay at the pump -(assuming you have a debit card of course) just thinking that way you won't have to go into the shop bit and face all the goodies -or even just take the money for the petrol out of your purse and lock it in the car when you go to pay;) .... have to confess that when i was back home in the UK i had several bags of choc eclairs :p ..i think it was a comfort thing as my lovely dad used to buy em me when i was a kid... in fact when i think about it a lot of what i ate when i was back home was stuff from my childhood :rolleyes:
    In fact i still sulk that you can't get proper merry maids any more :mad: they changed the recipe -then the name :confused: then still try to convince you they are the same thing :confused:

    Chrisfh -
    Im lucky as a lot of the time my hubbies evening munchies are sesame ryvita type biscuits with a bit of cheese :confused: thats not a treat is it folks :rotfl: He will sometimes have salted peanuts but i only pinch about a dozen then im ok

    I think if you can you need to pencil in snackies if you can... my thing is jelly n fruit...i think it was Rambler who was saying they eat lots.. "ME TOO" i make 4 up at a time :rotfl: .... fruit in the bottom and then when i have some a good dollop of yoghurt and you can pass it off as triffle ;) in fact im having it with hm natural yoghurt at the moment and its stunning..and few cals
    Another thing we have found reduces hubbies "munchy cravings" has been to move dinner time.. i was getting it ready for as soon as he had his shower after work about 5:30ish now its between 6:30-7:00... he has less time to get hungry between dinner and bed time. It was his suggestion and it seems to work -most of the time

    Toniwoty.. Im like you.. I don't binge but when i start its "drip drip drip" all day.. 1 of these, a bit of this, an extra that... in some ways i think its just as bad because you can trick yourself into thinking "well it was only 1 extra potato" "oh it was only half a dozen chips" etc and it soon adds up.... again thats why i keep bowls of jelly, low fat brownies(in the freezer;) ) etc in... then i seem to put more structure into my eating -by thinking -well if i stick to my meals i can have a brownie if i want one this evening.. at 140 cals its less than that extra potato, few crisps, slice of bread n butter ;)
    Perhaps it would be worth you trying it ;)
    right enough waffle
    have a great morning all -will pop by later and catch up again:D

    urgh - morning everyone

    so, last night was a total disaster diet-wise (and work-wise, this morning!). i didn't avoid the booze at all, in fact - my friend talked me into skiving off the gym and nipping to the pub for a g+t on the way to dinner! so i ended up drunk, not eating til about half nine and having pita and dips, bbq burger, potatoes with butter, pudding, everything!! disaster

    and, of course, i'm now hungover, which usually means full fat coke, salty crisps, something stodgy for lunch etc. luckily i'd already made a salad for my lunch today, but seriously think it may have to be bulked out with something a bit more solid. i've got a 30th birthday party tonight so i need a good full tummy before a night on the tiles (or does that sound like an excuse?). i won't get to go home before i go out so will have to find something that i can buy that's reasonably healthy...

    really hope everyone else is doing better, and fingers crossed for a healthier weekend! i'm going out mountain biking for the day on sunday so hopefully that will help a bit...

    Thanks Frogga and Mrs M, I think I need to get some healthy snacks in that we can both enjoy. Like the idea of the sesame ryvita. We don't eat much before 7pm, so it's not like I'm hungry, just becoming a habit for us.

    I love oatcakes with hummus (not for breakfast:rolleyes: ) or a scrape of peanut butter or mashed avocado. I prefer them with savoury toppings, I have jam or marmalade on rice cakes!

    I am well and truly back on the wagon today and feel so much better for it even though I have a bit of a cold starting. Hoping to go swimming tonight if my nose clears up a bit and I am going to make courgette chutney this afternoon so it will keep me occupied for a few hours.

    B: 2 wholemeal toasts with HM jam (no butter)
    L: Probably nothing as I got up late
    D: Spicy oven roasted new potatoes with something, not sure what yet but we have lots of new spuds from FIL's plot to use up and I am not feeling very creative. Any suggestions welcome :)

    S: If I fancy it, a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a cone

    Have a great day and a fab weekend all, I will be back tomorrow with my WI, fingers crossed for a STS after last weekends disaster
  • Okay I'm due to weigh in today... you've all heard the saga of the scales, well DH just got on them and one minute he's 16st 7, the next 17st so we both had a good laugh at that. I have no idea what they're meant to say for me, but this time last week they weighed me at 13st 12 and today it's 13st. Mind you, last week was TOTM so that probably explains a lot of it.

    Toni, please can you put me down as a STS this week, as I feel that because my scales are so unreliable I might be swizzing you all on my genuine weight loss... because I don't want to be Slimmer of the Week if the 12 lbs my scales say I lost isn't accurate. That's not fair on everyone else, right? :)

    Congrats to the losers and STSs, well done! And to those who haven't lost, there's always next week. The important thing is to keep trying!

    Afternoon all,

    Congratulations to the losers and the STSers (!?), special congrats to Frogga on reaching 16.12...told you I could do it!

    Have lost another 1lb this week, happy about that as I have just concentrated on eating as little 'rubbish' and drinking as much water as possible.

    To-day's eats:

    B...2 apricots, 1 pear;
    L... brown bread with hm hummous, apple;
    D...baked fish, peas and hm wedges, salad;
    S....3 pieces chocolate covered ginger, bowl of hm soup, small slice bread

    Good luck to all to-day

    Marie
