evening all!
I've not got a remoska either - so it must be trendy not to have one frogga!
The best way to clean a George Foreman is when it is still warm is to put a few layers of wet kitchen roll in and shut it, then while you are eating your meal it steam cleans itself and is really easy to give it a quick wipe over afterwards, and I agree with using it as a sandwich toaster - we do it all the time!
Have booked tomorrow off work as i'm still full of cold, hasn't ruined my appetite though!
Patchy - hope you feel better soon xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Evening all
I don't have a remoska YET but im fighting the idea..supposed to save a lot of fuel...Im a kitchen gadget freak -but i do spend a lot of time in the kitchen and do cook allsorts -in my defence-on the gadget front i have:-
- slow cooker -used heaps in autumn/winter
- juicer -used a fair old bit actually i have 2 -mum gave me hers
i she only used it twice so i put it away -just in case :rotfl:
- electric meat grinder/sausage maker -used every couple of month -but only cos i make big batches at once-best machine EVER
- BM -used to use it loads to make dough -now i do it by hand
- food processor -used in fits n starts
- stick blender -used lots
- coffee perc
- eggy boiler -my baby as i can't boil eggs
- yoghurt maker -just retrieved from the darkest depths of a packing case
- oooohh an electric pasta maker/cutter -like a giant play doh machine for grown ups.. used twice so far
- tefal steam cuisine steamer -used all the time -best steamer ever
- toaster
- micro
we did have a george forman -but hubby scrubbed it  ..the best way to clean them is to put a tray at the bottom, switch it off then use a pot sponge to squeeze water down it whilst its warm..it loosens stuff up brilliantly:D
Right back to the topic
Food today changed... had jacket with cottage cheese and salad for lunch and i just had a portion of thai curry, noodles and naan bread -all HM and from the freezer.. hubby offered to fetch a gyros but i wasn't wasting €15 so i did that for me n hubby had HM chilli(from freezer) and noodles..and it was done in under 20 mins..so less money, less cals and quicker than a takeaway...ohhhh and tastier :T
Well i got some super whoopsies today... in the end i got €61.21 worth of stuff for €22.98 :j so i was a happy bunny -best of all most of it is stuff that isn't needed this month -so next month should be even cheaper :T
Angelnikki... im soooo sorry about the brownies :rotfl: get em in the freezer
Patchy -hope you are feeling better soon
Newlywed -can you get one of those non stick liners like in lakeland -(home bargains do em cheaper) then put half on the bottom plate, your food on top and then fold the other half over..no sticking -no mess
I would rather go to the dentist than the hairdressers... me hate folks faffing with my hair
Right im going back to my x stitch -have a good one all-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Awwww *blush* thanks! I feel great for having done it, just seeing it written down is a real boost. I'm not sure what to put in the challenge target, is that where I say how much I want to lose? I want to get down to 10 stone, so I have another 48 lbs to lose but I don't know how much I can shed in August, I'm just taking it as it comes.
Today has been:
B - milky coffee ("blue" top, 2 sugars as usual)
L - beef sarnies on HM bread, and 6 chilli coated peanuts
D - Shredded duck and pancakes with hoi sin sauce and sliced leeks
Trouble is, I fancy something sweet now... must resist... must resist... :rotfl:"...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0 -
Hi
Can I join please? I really need to lose weight and you are all so inspirational. I have 5 stone to lose so I am here for the long haul. Like most people sugar is my downfall, would loooooooooooooove to hate sugar!
Thanks everyoneMake £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.0 -
Ooh Mrs M - how can you hate the hairdressers? I love it - it is my most favourite thing in the world having my hair done! I go at least once a week - but it is still quite MSE because I know the hairdresser and she doesn't charge me hardly anything - I really only pay for colour and I have that done every 8 weeks or so.
Beanie - glad you got to the dentist.
Taplady - hope the cold is better soon.
Patchy - hope you feel better soon.
Rockie - where do you get all your energy from?
I gave my George Foreman away when the non sticky all came off and it became a pain to clean. My latest gadget is a Cookworks multi-cooker - like a huge electric frying pan thingie that you can use to fry, stir fry, braise, slow cook, griddle and all kinds of other things - it was £16.99 on Ideal World and so far I use it every day. Used it today to make potato cakes for kids breakfast, and then again to make cheese toasties for DD1's lunch.
I am a total gadgetaholic though - I have, stuffed in my cupboards:
An ice cream maker (not the posh electric one - never useit)
Breville Sandwich maker (never use)
food processor(use now and again)
blender(almost never use)
stick blender(use sometimes)
electric whisker (use fairly often)
Kenwood Patissier (use ALL the time)
Simply Yoghurt Maker thing (hardly ever use)
Deep Fat Fryer (used once and too much of a faff to clean)
non-electric pasta cooking thingie ()
electric bag sealer (almost never used)
Kenwood mini chopper a la Delia (use lots and lots)
citrus press (never use)
slow cooker (about to give away to my sister)
coffee grinder (almost never use)
Shopping channel Turbo cooker thingie (don't ask)
Tefal electric steamer (use all the time)
electronic WW scales (use lots)
mandolin thingie (never use)
super duper veg peeling thingie (sliced the top of my finger nearly right off so only ever used the once!)
No wonder I am broke (and fat)!
I made a lovely vegetable hash for tea - just mixed up steamed chopped leeks, carrots and green beans with mashed potatoes and then baked it in a buttered pyrex dish for about 40 minutes till it was really crispy on top and sides and bottom and had it with roast chicken and gravy. Had a Solero for afters.
I was watching the cooking channel after tea (I'm broke, fat and a masochist) and the Barefoot Contessa was making hm marshmallows and they looked FABULOUS - a quick text to Frogga got me back on the straight and narrow though, as I was starting to get the urge to bake.....
Hope you are having a good evening!Jane

Hello all,
Very late to-day as I met a friend for lunch and it lasted 4 hours! Really enjoyed the session, was a bit miffed that when I arrived home at 5pm I had to cook for OH, DD2 and DGD1...they had been here all day doing nothing...sorry OH had mowed the lawns, managed to drive lawn mower off bank and I had to hook that up to car and pull it back onto the path...GGRRRR!
Welcome to Vodkawitch.
RS...you must have a huge kitchen to keep all that junk....sorry, I have become allergic to gadgetry so will not be getting a remoska...I already have toaster, sandwich toaster, George Foreman, electric steamer somewhere in a shed as I could never get the hang of it, breadmaker (gift which I rarely use), rice cooker..which I love, coffee machine, processor, stick blender. Not getting any more as I couldn't cope with the cleaning!
To-day I have eaten:
B. slice brown bread and butter;
L. Spicy chicken stir fry with noodles, 2 pts water, coffee;
D. Butternut squash risotto...lot of butter, cheese and wine, small piece baked pike.
S. Fruit or slice brown bread with cream cheese.
Sleep well

Evening all, welcome vodkawitch:hello:
I've lost 2lb woooHOOOOO!!:D :jHad a rotten night's sleep last night..... back to work this morning after 2 weeks off.....but that cheered me up no end, and work trousers feeling decidedly more roomy than 2 weeks ago cheered me up even more!! Really need to start swimming again to firm up some wobble but that's on hold for now, pools too busy in the school hols.Is it even possible to firm up 47 year old wobble do you think???
:o
Good luck this week everyone!0
