frogga - is it a good book then?
Yes matey it really isIt's the one I was talking about the other day "10 commandments of loosing weight" . When I was a kid I thought Morrissey wrote all his songs for me, and now I think that about this book too
.......................................... by the way Morrissey did write all his songs for me, he just doesn't know itSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Hello everyone - got up late today so just had a late breakfast of a small banana and 4 pretzels with one low fat cheese slice. It was lovely! I got this big jar of pretzels in Costco the other day because they said fat free and they are really nice, but not so nice that you could overeat them IYKWIM. I am trying to have no bread ATM so they make a nice change and 4 of them is only 80 calories.
I had a horrible nightmare last night about totally running out of money and this morning I am resolved to sort out my finances. I have been unemployed for the last year and a half, but I got 2 year's salary as a pay off so have managed quite well - but the end of my capital is in sight so I will have to get a job - I don't claim any benefits other than Child Tax Credit and don't want to start. I just am so nervous because I had been in my last job for 21 years and I don't know how I will cope in a new environment. I really want to re-train in something like aromatherapy or reflexology or something like that, but again I am nervous about going on a course.
Day 5 of no bingeing and it is all going okay, but today I have that "hungry" feeling - the one where you want to keep looking in the fridge:eek: I am DETERMINED not to let Frogga down though and will resist all temptation for definite!
Hope you are all having a good day! Taplady - hope the cold is soon better! Patchy - hope you are feeling better too!
Toniwoty - I HAVE seen the egg/toast gadget but don't fancy it really.Jane

Hi RS ~ long time no speak
I know EXACTLY what you mean about going back to work. A friend of mine was in this possition 3 years ago. She NEEDED to do "something" when she found herself as a single mum to 4, yes 4! After relying on OH wages for years she was suddenly alone.
She did a Beauty Therapy course at Suffolk College and three years later she qualified and runs a business from home (in her Garage!). It has completely changed her life and as an aside she went from 18st down to 11st without even trying. It was her new "full" life that took her mind off the eating. She even now has a new chap who is really smashing
And by the way, you would NEVER let me down even if you did have a little binge. Our friendship is about much more than that. I know if I phoned you at 3am in the morning you'd be there for me, don't worry I wont test ya! A binge will visit both of us again , of that I am sure. But if and when it does it WILL NOT BE THE END OF THE WORLD! We will put it behind us a KEEP GOING!!
I am going to get a gadgetI'm gonna get a Toasted Sandwich Maker so I can do the Tadpoles Melted Cheese and Toasted Jam like I had when I was a Tadpole :T

If you can - get one with removable plates - so you can stick em in the sink to clean em - it's easierBut even if it says they are dishwasher proof - don't believe them as the non-stick stuff comes off and you then need to buy replacement plates
I like baked beans and cheese - marmite and cheese was one of the few things I like marmite inOr choc spread and banana is good too, oooh or banana, honey and cinnamon....
Think I'd best be writing asking for new plates now the non stick stuff has come unstuckworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
RS - as for the new job - I was in mine for 11 years when I changed job type so I know how you feel.
Remember though - you never know what you can achieve until you actually try!
You might love the therapy course and love the work - but if you don't at least you will know and won't sit there wondering "what if"working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Afternoon all,
Golly got alot of catching up to do. First big ((((hugs)))) for the poorly peeps and hope you're feeling better soon.
Big congats to Mr & Mrs Frog and McC, I hope you enjoy many, many more happy years together.:T
Just to introduce myself to the most welcome newbies. Well you might as well call me Granny (am I really the oldest one here, please say I'm not  ). I'm 55, have been with DH 20yrs, married 17. Have four kids from previous marriage, DS1 32, DS2 29, DD 27, and DS3 25. DH and I have one son 17yrs, the only one now living full time at home. I've worked in a bank, as a child minder, in supermarkets, as a gardener, a cleaner and as a home carer for the elderly. I needed surgery for prolapsed everything 2 yrs ago and haven't got my act together since workwise. I do voluntary days with the local councils countryside services which I love. Foodwise I was bilemic in my 20's and have yoyoed since my teens. However I reached my all time high last year and decided enough as enough and to do something about it. No faddy diets but a change of lifestyle. So here I am with you lovely like minded peeps.
On the kitchen gadgets list I've got:
A Kenwood food mixer with shredder and liquidiser attachments.
DH's breadmaker (his pride and joy)
A hand held blender
a microwave
a kettle
a toaster
and my pride and joy....a twin oven Rangemaster. (my old cooker went in a skip and I had a great time throwing bricks at it!!!!!:rotfl: )
Well folks I have to report a 3lb loss (down mainly to the tummy bug, gurgle, hic), and for the A IN A target to get under 11st. To be 10st 12lbs is my ultimate goal, still will be classed at overweight at 5ft 4.5ins, but that's enough for me. At least I've managed to come to a decision at last. By the way I've now lost 5 stone and I'm a very, very happy bunny:j :j.
Hope you all have a great day and keep up the good work especially Frogga and RS, what a good idea doing it together :T .
Bye for now, Suz"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." Unknown0 -
Hi gang, since becomming an os'er I have fell in love with Lakeland and every gadget imaginable! I have a growing collection including:
panasonic breadmaker (used masses)
tefal actifryer (use couple times a week - one of my best buys)
a mini smoothie maker (new addition but using about 3 times a day currently)
microwave (used daily)
toaster (used rarely)
george foreman grill (shelved)
a steamer (barely used can't be bothered to clean it lol)
yogurt maker
oh that's it. Not as much as I thought
Food today b- banana smoothie, not had lunch yet and prob spag bol for dinner (must not use garlic - have interview tomo!) On the subject of working, I'm currently as SAHM (although I do go out on occasions) but have an interview tomo. Am REALLY not sure about it, I'm not worried about the job just SOOOOOOOOOO worried about leaving my son  he is 15 months and the job is each morning, every day, I can't imagine being away from him for so long. Still DH thinks it will be good to have more money so I applied thinking I wouldn't even get shortlisted and whaddaknow, they invited me in for an interview  So I will have to see what the place is like and besides, I might not even get the job eh?
Have a good day all :T:xmassmile:rudolf:0 -
Hi All
wow, i can't believe how many gadgets you all have - i don't even have a microwave!! although i am enjoying the breadmaker that i have on loan at the moment, only problem is that i keep eating all the bread
well, the weightloss has been a disaster for me so far: my first WI and i've gained 3lbs, eeeeeeek!!! i was out last thursday and away for the weekend, so basically a 3 day heavy drinking binge, pausing only to eat fish and chips etc. i dread to think what the result would have been had i not been good last week before going away! so, back on the wagon for me now hopefully - fingers crossed
and for my introduction (and i feel guilty having read all of yours - my life is so easy, i have no excuse for being overweight!): i'm 28, single, now sharing a flat with one other girl who is very healthy so hoping it will rub off on me! i have an office job so spend 9 to 5 sat on my backside in front of a computer, but try to be fairly active outside of those hours. my weight has yo-yo'd since leaving school, i reached my target of 9st7 with slimming world a few years ago but don't want to go back on any kind of 'regime' like that, scared of becoming obsessive and would rather just 'eat healthily'.
have a great day everybody!0 -
