Just to introduce myself to the most welcome newbies. Well you might as well call me Granny (am I really the oldest one here, please say I'm not  ). I'm 55, /quote]
You're notI am I think but that's only in body, in my head I'm still 21
Rock would it be mean of me to suggest we rename you fossil ??0 -
I just got in from going to lunch with my sister and her carer (my sister has Down's Syndrome). We went to a local pub and I chose a jacket potato with chilli and side salad without dressing. I have to say that the chilli was the most rank thing I have ever tasted and I couldn't eat even a mouthful of it. I was quite hungry too but decided that I wouldn't eat anything so just had a lime and soda and have just come in and had an Activia yoghurt, nectarine, apple and cup of tea. I think that is real progress for me because until now, if something like that happened to me, it would throw me right off course and I would come in and eat a load of bread and butter or similar - so I am quite pleased that I managed to resist. Mind you the chilli was so horrible that I don't know that I could eat much - I had one mouthful and I can still taste it as I keep burping - ugh!
Thank you all for the encouragement about the job - I am going to look on the internet for courses and see if there are any near to me - I need to find a job of some sort soon!
I listed a load of stuff on Amazon the other night and it is still selling well - it is sooooo much easier than Ebay!Jane

Perhaps us gurlees with a bigger numbers on our birthday cards are just following Cyndi Lauper's example of 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun'
I'm with Rockie on my brain definately being younger than my body....I see peeps I was at school with--they're all growed up & responsible & wearing suits, whereas I'm happiest watching Disney Channel & still cutting out rabbit shaped sarnies for the offspring's lunch boxes:rotfl:
My gadgets include:-
my panasonic breadmaker...bestist thing EFFA IMHO, cuz I can't find the space for proving hand made bread
stick blender...not used as much as I thought but still handy
2nd-hand food gizmo that slices & grates & would probably make cakes if I read the book:o
microwave...handy for porridge in the winter but little else:p
another mixer jobby...but discovered the value of beating the beejeezas outta fat with a wooden spoon when cake making so hardly used lately--excellent anger-management therapy;)
I'd really like summat to prodice julienne strips from carrots, cue etc, so may just invest in a new potato peeler:D
Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

how much does it cost to run your yoghurt maker?
I just looked on lakeland. They had sachet 5*200g scahet for £10.
Not sure how much yoghurt you can get out of that.
it makes a kg of yoghurt at a time for each sachet - not sure how much is in an individual pot but I'd say you'd get at least 10 out of that - the difficulty is not having too big a portion. It is also possible to make it without using the sachets using whole longlife milk and a bit of natural yoghurt then flavouring it yourself.
I stock up on sachets when Julien Graves have a half price sale(thats how I bought the YM;) )
There is a whole thread about easiyo yoghurt making hereDo what you love :happyhear0 -
