Hello,
I dont know if any of you will remember me, but, I used to post here, then I disappeared. So, Im back again.
Have not been good at all, infact, ive been very very bad. Im now up to 11 stone, and since im the height of nothing, I look like an egg with legs:p .
Have been eating chocolate non stop, and im ashamed to say, have not had a proper dinner in days:o . The past couple of days, I have had an extremely sore stomach, and it must be my body saying "enough is enough", so its time for a change, and I mean a proper change.
Hopefully if I start to eat proper, then I will start to get more energy, and have a better attitude rather than the lazy, I cant be bothered attitude that ive had for quite some time now.
Anyway, breakfast is going to be cereal, 1 slice of toast, and a bit of melon. If I have a bigger breakfast Im hoping I will be less likely to snack until lunch time.
I was going to make canelloni for dinner tonight, but, wanted to make it was bolognaise instead of the usual spinach & ricotta. Do you think that would be okay, and if I make a white/cheese sauce to pour over the canelloni once ive filled the tubes with the bolognaise, and then shoved it in the oven for a little while.

Hi All,
Well done all the losers. I too am full of good resolutions, though hampered a bit by the fact that I am going down to London to visit my daughter tonight. We are going to a party on board the Queen Mary this evening and then meeting up with my sister and nephew in Windsor tomorrow. Plenty of meals out will no doubt be involved.
I have lost 1lb this week but as I'd put on 2lbs the week before am still more than a fortnight ago. Looking at the calendar I weigh the same as I did at the beginning of July and only a lb less than at the beginning of June so must do better. I am now 10st 9lbs and but am only 5ft 1ins so still look quite round. However, I am in size 12 jeans now which is an improvement. My DS is getting married at the beginning of November so I have that as a target to be 9 and a half stone by. It is possible at only 1lb per week but going by past results I am going to have to try harder.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Well done anyone who has lost, and Alexelisey Wow!!!! well done.
I am having a "ladies who lunch" day today, with my friends, so we're going to a carvery. I am hoping to have more veg than anything else, as I took dh out for lunch on Wednesday, and due to circumstances beyond my control (long staying visitors) yesterday, we had a chinese takeaway.
After today, I would really like to behave foodwise, only eat when I'm hungry, and try to make it healthy food. I know what I'm supposed to be eating, but it's so easy to snack when I'm tired.
I'm not setting an August target other than to weigh less at the end of August than I do now (14 stone 12 lbs still!!!).
Take care all of you0 -
wow, well done alex - a real motivator!
unfortunately, it's come a little late for me: i had far too much to drink at the concert last night (like a proper giddy teenager, i had the band writing on my chest afterwards and everything, haha, i'm far too old for that type of thing!) and then had fast food on the way home.
i'm now a bag of crisps and 2 bottles of lucozade into a horrible hangover at my desk - going to have to try really hard to burn it off on a run tomorrow. really glad i went to the gym before i went out though, makes me feel slightly better about it!
a heavy weekend coming up as a school friend is visiting from abroad so a girly get together, but i'm going to try hard for some healthier options (even it i'm not good, i can be better!)
have a good one everyone0 -
Phew, wot a lot of posts since yesterday:eek:
Welcome newbies and returners:hello: Well done to the losers :T
I'm pleased that I've gained a pound as I thought it would be more:rolleyes:
Yesterday wasn't toooo bad, the bubble and squeak was really nice, a small portion but enough and the apple tart with pecan ice cream was to die for:drool:
I had a few new potatoes and courgettes at tea time as I wasn't really hungry but with going dancing I needed something so that was all I had yesterday
Dancing was hard work last night, he had us doing lifts  I felt really sorry for the guys having to lift me;) and I've pulled a muscle in my chest now which is really sore this morning.
I finished reading the Marissa Peer book....interesting, I'll listen to the cd in a bit and I've decided to make a concious effort to avoid the bread/wheat as I know it bloats me. I will try to cut down on the dairy too as that's another thing that affects me but I'm being sensible about it and just going to make healthy choices.
I've been to MrT's this morning (day off today:D ) and will get the house cleaned later, it looks like a midden, not helped by OH being off yesterday and doing absolutely nothing:mad: :wall:
Brekkie was porridge with raisins, almonds and flaxseeds, I'm not even a bit hungry at the moment but will make some carrot and parsnip soup for when I am and tea will be sweet potato and lentil burgers with cabbage.
See you later folks :A0 -
hello everyone! just found this thread and i think its the one for me, even though i'm not that old style! PLZ CAN I JOIN??
i'm 33 and a mother of three young uns (5, 4, and 20 months). I'm 5.5" and weigh 13 stone 4lbs which is 85kg which is only 4kg less than my hubby! I kind of half heartedly try to lose weight, but having seen the fantastic Awesome August challenge, am gonna try to lose as much as i can in August.
My hubby is away for the next 3 weeks - first time he has been away for that long in 7 years of marriage - so i wanna loook good for his return. Plus it's our anniversary in October, so if i can get started now that will give me the incentive to keep losing it til then!
My main downfall is lack of excercise & fruit but instead having loads of chocs and biccies - which i am stopping as of today!
Breakfast - oats cereal with s/s milk
lunch - steamed rice (microwavable) chicken breast pieces & salad
evening - roast chicken and steamed veg (microwaveable pack again!)
Snacks will be fruit and will only drink water.
Am taing Adios after every meal as well - don't know if it does work, but makes me feel like i'm doing a bit more!
Bought a Wii fit about 3 months ago and used it twice, so gonna get that going every morning, before kids are up. ALso going to "borrow! my sisters small trampet and bounce around for a while!
Wish me luck guys, you all seem to be a supportive and inspired bunch. I'm trying to picture whisking my hubby away for a night when he returns as a reward for losing weight, so that's gonna be my picture in my mind!0 -
Hi Mrs M
found this recipe for falamel hope it helps.- 1 cup dried chickpeas or 16 oz. can of chickpeas or garbanzo beans.
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 3 tablespoons of fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 tablespoons flour
- Salt
- Pepper
- Oil for frying
Place dried chickpeas in a bowl, covering with cold water. Allow to soak overnight. Omit this step if using canned beans.
Drain chickpeas, and place in pan with fresh water, and bring to a boil.
Allow to boil for 5 minutes, then let simmer on low for about an hour.
Drain and allow to cool for 15 minutes.
Combine chickpeas, garlic, onion, coriander, cumin, salt and pepper (to taste) in medium bowl. Add flour.
Mash chickpeas, ensuring to mix ingredients together. You can also combine ingredients in a food processor. You want the result to be a thick paste.
Form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a ping pong ball. Slightly flatten.
Fry in 2 inches of oil at 350 degrees until golden brown (5-7 minutes).
Serve hot.safc forever

Hi All,
Just popped back to say I have put a link to show the knitted projects I have made since I started back in June trying to keep my mind off eating. I've loads of things made but not much weight lost. Perhaps I need to cut back on the knitting and have a few more long walks again!!

Hope it works. Off to London shortly on the bus so just been to the secondhand bookshop and done a swap - 3 of my old books for one new one. That way I can leave the book behind once I've read it and not cart it around with me.
