Morning all
Lost 1lb this week which is a surprise as i stil feel like i have swallowed a beach ball :T still it will pas in a day or so.... so thats the first ity bit off my August target :j
Mariel... how spooky... When we were back in th UK hubby was going to the chippy and i asked him for a cheese n onion fryit... and he hadn't a clue what i was on about -he thought i was trying to make him look daft by asking for something that didn't exist :rotfl: he is from bedfordshire im Nottinghamshire and he has never heard of themand after that they didn't have any in  ... then again they don't do mixes where he comes from.. you know where you get a tray of chips with peas or beans on??? and they don't do gravy
oooohh does anyone else remember "savouries"? they used to be stunning... like a meat thing shaped into a really fat sausage like thing? a bit like a frikadella but much nicer. oh you have me started now
Right -moving away from the thoughts of chippies now
Marie... glad the barley seems to be working :T I got that out of that nutritional book i got whilst back home...glad its earnt its keep allready:D
Pebbles -some of Gillian Mckeiths recipes are lovely... I got the meal planner book whilst back home but does your book have the recipe for the falafel in by any chance? if so could i pretty please have the recipeI used to love them..but this book has veggie/bean burgers in but not the one i want
10past6... nope you wouldn't want to live with us then... i can't stand being warm -as soon as i get up im downstairs and swinging the french windows open... it has to be super duper cold for me to even shut the windows:p and the bedroom ones don't close no matter HOW cold it gets
Lainie... glad that your son isn't badly hurt... probably shaken up more than anything. Hope your nerves have settled a bit this morning too..
Food today -- Brekkie - gonna have 2 slices hm super seedy bread toasted
- mid morning - jelly with blueberries and cherries
- lunch -kraut salat with tuna/swetcorn/mayo
- mid afternoon - natural yogurt with a splodge of compot
- dinner -making a pasta sauce with aubergine, courgettes(from garden), onions, mushrooms, peppers, and frozen peas...a dollop of cream cheese n herbs, dollop of wholegrain mustard then putting chorizo in hubbies and im having some smoked salmon in mine.... putting pasta under hubbies but i will probably just have the sauce -i use big chunks of veg so its lovely n crunchy
- supper -25g seed/nut/fruit mix
Its our 6th anniversary on Monday and hubby has the week off now -so if the weather is good we are going to make up a picnic and go to the lake for a wander and some lunch .... I have everything in to make a nice pack up so thats a bonus.. plus i should be doing lots of walking to burn it off:D . Today is the end of my 1st week of the August grocery challenge and i have only spent 2c :j and have the rest of the months meals planned -so i should need very little -im on a mission to save as much as i can

Didn't know you were from Notts Mrs McCawber. So am I! Whereabouts?
We were laughing about my son's strange habit of liking gravy on his fish & chips the other night! ugh!
Hope the weather stays fine - got lots of veggies to pick when I get in from work.
Off to work now with my little pots of seedy snacks & grapes.
Hopefully a good day for everyone today.

Morning all!
Lainie - glad your DS is ok, I knoe what you mean about it being the worst hour of your life - I felt exactly like that when my DS had a head on car accident and we were rushing to the hospital.
i agree with what you said about it not being a diet:T we've got to be careful for the rest of our lives but as you said we can still have the odd night off - I did last night with my curry with the girls;)
10past6 - hope you enjoyed the muesli!
well done to MRSM and everyone else who has lost this week:T
I am 5 ft 6 too! always thought I was 5ft 7 till I measured the other week:D
I'm 10st 2 ATM which is ideal but keeping there is very hard! I could never get to the lower end at 9 stone as I would look too gaunt. It took me a year to lose nearly 2 stone and that was at a pound or pound and a half most weeks but it all added up.
Off to work later and sleeping in so am taking some food with me, just need some inspiration for lunch as I'lll look like a jacket spud if I eat any more:eek:
I've got a HM mushroom quiche for tea with some salad and a couple of new spuds. For breakfast I've had 1 tiny slice of toast and will probably have something else before I go.
See you all in the morning!Do what you love :happyhear0 -

Hi all,
Mmm chips and gravy - can't get that down here - and if you do stumble across a place offering gravy then it's runny bistoBest thing about Manchester - chips and proper thick gravy. I got told I'm not a true southerner coz I like chips n gravy
Feeling poorly again today. Trying to work out what I could have eaten with sesame in - but think there must something else making me ill too
Food today: one ginger biscuitworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
:hello: MorningEveryone, Happy August :hello:(OMG it's August ALREADY!! )
I can't believe that I'm posting this but, it's been a WHOLE YEAR since I first went on the Daily Thread moaning about my weight. A few people joined in and soon we were all vowing to do something about it. Well, a year on this little frog is still vowing  some of us have done really well, and one of us has lost nearly 8 stone :j If any of us need proof that if we just stick to it, then it will come off, just look at what MrsM has achieved. Right in front of our eyes too.
So , with that thought in mind , I AM REALLY GOING TO DO IT IN THIS NEXT YEAR!
Starting TODAY, I am going to be good for a whole month!!! It's Auust 1st today and I just weighed myself. I've been a piggy wig all week so was expecting it to be horrible but it said I've stayed the same ish. The scales wobble alot (under the strain) so I'll go with the highest which said 17st 6lb.
RS and I have decieded not to weigh now for a whole month. We will weigh again on Sun 31st August, which is the day before I start my new job. I have one month to loose some more to get more comfy in some new clothes for work.
I would love the scales to say 16st 6lb by then and it's defo doable. My friends from Manchester were going to come down at the end of August so I was going to have that week off. However, they have had to change their plans and it looks like they'll be comming down in the half term at the end of October instead. That felt like a sign that I didn't have any excuses not to stick to it completely in August.
I am gonna have a treat every Friday of a small packet of salted peanuts. Otherwise I get really cheesed off. I am however gonna aviod the sugar. It is just carp at the end of the day and has no value does it? I know the nuts will feel like a treat but they are also very good for me and it's good fat so it's not all bad.
Well Guys that's the plan anyway. I will really try and I know it can be done. I know I didn't do as well as others but I am 2 stone down from last year so I guess that's better than 2 stone up!!
Good luck to all of us that keep fighting the fight. New month, fresh start, new Frog on the waySay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Okay so first, a confession. I forgot to mention yesterday about the 5 chilli coated peanuts and one chunk of mint aero I had with my lunch :rotfl:but now I have that off my chest...
I am a loser!
I just weighed in, only a week after last doing so, and I've lost 8 lbs! I'm so happy, a week off the snacks and I've shed over half a stone. I am now down to 13 st 6 lbs. Still got a hell of a way to go, but it's a cracking start. I must get exercising as well, that'll help to get some more off. The link reckoned I should be about 9 st, but I'll be happy to get down to 10 and keep it off.
It CAN be done! :j
