brown sauce is a valid food group. It's there on all those pie-chart thingummys they show you along with carbs and protein, but they tend to use invisible ink. You have to look at it like you look at those magic eye things.
So basically, it's essential.Weight loss to date - 8st 13lbs :j0 -
brown sauce rocks! i'm sure it's got a lot of sugar in it, so you don't want to eat too much of it, but i can't imagine it's easy to overdo it, it's such a strong flavour.
if you enjoy the meal much more for having it then i say go for it!
and welcome to purple-sparkles - you've come to the right place and sound like you have the right attitude. please don't be afraid to come in here and 'fess up if you hit a bump in the road, i think that's the best part about this thread, there'll always be someone here to get you back on track
today for me:
b - porridge
s - satsuma
l - left over tuna and vegetable pasta
s - orange
t - tuna and yellow pepper sandwich on the train, satsuma, plum
party tonight so a few boozy drinks will probably slip in, but it's a week night so i'll be taking it relatively easy
have a great day everyone0 -
Thank you all for the lovely welcome
So far so good for me but it's still early days and I'm no saint but I'm not thinking of food unless I'm hungry and as I didn't buy anything that was unhealthy I should be able to stick to my plan - for the rest of the week. I'm thinking of it more as a journey than a diet as I hate the word diet.
I'm going to have porridge in a bit for breakfast and then I've got to go to work but should be home by about 2.30 time for a quick baked potato and salad which I love, before meeting my son from school. I park the car about a mile from school and walk the dogs to school and back to the car with my son, we live about 2 1/2 miles from his school. I used to walk there and back twice a day before I was given a car - I think that started the weight problem, but as my joints ache so much these days it's a bit too much for me to start doing straight off again but I'll build up to it over the next few months. It's a lovely walk through a bid of wilderness and a pond with the swans, ducks and herons on it.
I'm rambling now..... wishing everyone a lovely dayI won't buy it if I can make or borrow it instead

I loooooovvvvveee brown sauce but it has to be HP. Great on bacon, cheese on toast, scouse, eggs I love it!
Well yesterday was a good day, no slip ups and proper meals so I am happy to be back on the wagon again
B: Porridge with water and skimmed milk
L: Lentil soupVeggie burger with SW potato wedges and baked beans. This is my ultimated stodge food tea because it feels like a fast food burger meal but tastes better and doesn't have as much grease or crap in it
S: Probably only an apple as I am trying to make sure I can have a full size portion of dinner
Have a great day everyone0 -
HI all
Here I am again, rolling in all lardy and fatty, after having completely lost my way, I am a found sheep (or at least I hope so) halleluyah! :rotfl:
After successfully losing more than 1 st over the last year or so I have started putting on more and more weight, not been on the scales but feel it around the middle and see it around the chin(s).
I have also gone back to a ridiculous state of non-fitness, having given up both aerobics and yoga for quite a long time now.
I haven't been feeling 100% for a long time, nothing that the doctors can find wrong with me, but just very tired and achy and on and off a bit depressed, so this is where I am now.
I shall start posting here again hoping to get the inspiration and strenght to do something about my health, weight and fitness, let's hope that it lasts this time!
I haven't got around to planning the full day's meal today yet but just had breakfast of granola, linseed meal, pumpkin seeds, walnuts and low fat cherry yogurt, with 3 dried apricots for iron, drinking green tea.
Edited to say what food I am having today now that I have sorted it:
Lunch: a slice of rye bread and a tin of mackerel in tomato sauce (I am falling off the 100% veggie wagon in the hope that more omega oils bring me back on my feet sooner), salad of celery and red pepper with little olive oil
Snack: 1 packet oatcakes, 1 glass apple and blueberry juice
Dinner: Aduki beans and root veg stew, couscous, apple.
Good night all!
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
