  • I have looked at surgery, but the costs are prohibitively expensive and I have heard that trying to get in done on the NHS is not an easy proposition. Who did you have yours done by Shelbell?

Another mad moment - just walked 3 miles in my lunch hour to save £1.50 parking and 3 miles worth of petrol.

Surely that must have burned off the sneaky curly wurly I scoffed earlier?

Will sleep well tonight I think....

Mine was NHS, and not too difficult to get done. I'll PM you so as not to over-run the thread ;)
    Weight loss to date - 8st 13lbs :j
  • Hi there
Lost 1lb but the trouble will be keeping it off and losing another one. Had very light meals this weekend so that must of helped. Today had cereal for bfast and am eating luch now, ryvita with cottage cheese and sliced tomato. I shall be going out this eve to the first party for xmas. There will be lots of nibbles and I know I won't be able to resist so I am only eating light now. My downfall is crisps. I try to stay away from them but our hosts know I like them and put them in front of me (will be sitting so can't just walk away.) I try to make sure I tuck into the carrot sticks etc but the crisps call loudest especially later on when the wine has started to do it's work. What do others do in this situation - one we must all face at this time of year. I hate being the party pooper and refusing (no will power either) and it's not fair to the hosts to refuse all their offerings. I used to eat a good meal before going out in the hope I would snack less but no joy so now I am trying to eat less in the day to counteract the damage.

  • Hi everyone,
Well today went well. Got up at 5.30 am for work, had my porridge (the packs done in the microwave) it was quite nice, but if i had more time then i'd cook it in a pan.. A small banana mid morning, finished at 2pm then came home and had tomato on brown toast with olive oil and pepper..
Then I made some potato and leek soup (lovely) and had fruit afterwards.. And i'm not even hungry at all :j

Now roll on day 2, i'm also going to the gym tomorrow, i'm off, so i plan to spend a good few hours there

Anway, good luck to everyone else! ;)

    Good Morning All :hello:

My book arrived yesterday so today is my first day of low carb/high protein/vegetarian. I am really worried though about the cost as the recipies all call for lots of cheese and seeds/nuts. If any of you have any suggestions about where might be the best place to buy them I'd be most grateful.

I'm used to getting up and eating straight away and having a large mug of tea but am not allowed that now so am sitting here with a mug of hot water instead feeling very sorry for myself.

    Todays meals (as per drs request) are;

    B-Scrambled eggs with 1/2 a tomato.

    L-Goats cheese and pecan salad!!

    D-Asparagus baked omlette type thingy!!!

What has happened???? My cupboards are full of pulses and pasta - I'm not sodding well allowed them!!!!!!!

Hope you all have a fab day,
    Al x

    • No snack unless I go to the shop
    • Turkey curry and rice

Not got weighed as the scales will only tell me to get off again. Will wait till Monday and see if I get a nice surprise.

Just want to publicly say thanks to Shelbell for all the help and advice over the PM's.

Edit 12:22pm: Forgot to add that I did 1hr on Wii Tennis yesterday. Will go for a 1/2 mile walk after lunch today. Think this is turning very much into a dairy but will refrain from posting multiple posts per day.

    Hi Kiwichick
I got this book out of the library a while back as I'm veggie and finding it so hard to lose weight but I gave it back untried as it seemed impossible. Have you found a supplier of the protein she advocates (sorry can't remember what it's called) she seemed to use this heavily. I did cut down on my carbs for a while but I cook for my family and couldn't make them do the same. Good luck and keep us updated, perhaps share a recipe or 2.

Well last night was hard. Not a carrot stick or tomato to be had. On the plus side the only crisps were dorito's which I'm not keen on so tell myself I hate them to lessen the temptation - once I start....you know how it goes. Most of the fayre was meat, as a veggie I only had an option of 3 items so was very restrained. Did let myself lose on the puds though-2 HM mince pies and a small slice of mandarin cheese cake (said 'light' on the box.) Should have said no to the whipped cream - ah well.

Bfast today cereal followed by pineapple and nat. yog. Lunch will be ryvita and cottage cheese. Have just put a bean casserole in the SC for diner.
