    morning!

shelBel - well done on an amazing loss!:T

Mardatha - I think the corner yoghurts are quite calorific compared to the mullerlight ones but they taste so much better and surely are better to have than biscuits and cake I think.

Work again today so not sure what i'm eating later but for breakfast its 1 small slice toast(wholemeal with marmalade) and 1 weetabix with added fruit and seeds(1)

Hope you all have a good day!
    Do what you love :happyhear

    mornin' everyone.

popped in to see how everyone is :hello:

    I'll be back this afternoon....

Hi to newbies and welcome back to the AWOLs. With only a 6 weeks to Christmas and the weather getting more drab it's good to see moral here still going strong.

    catch you all later :)
  • Hi all. I hope its ok for another new poster to join the thread. I have been a some time lurker of the thread while I plucked up the courage to post.

I have been overweight since I started high school (thats as far back as I can remember anyway) and Im now in my early 30's. I am now in excess of 440lbs, I say in excess as thats where my scales give up and just say 'FFFF'. I have lost weight before, I used one of the weekly slimming clubs to get down to about 18st but life changes meant that the weight went back on and more to join it.

I dont know whether its good to have a target or not but Im planning a trip to California next August and need (would like) to lose a hell of a lot of weight before we go, preferably about 10 stone.

The trouble is I have tried all sorts to try and lose weight, the clubs, the gyms, and all they seem to do now is simply stabilise my weight. I played American Football for a year and my weight stayed at 385lbs for that year. Ovbiously once I stopped I gained again.

Is 10st an unrealistic target for 9 months and if not I just dont know how the hell Im going to lose it. But I know I have to because if I dont they simply arent going to let me on the plane.

Understanding what foods to eat is a problem for me. I know people say about carbs and protein and stuff but I honestly dont understand what it all is. I dont know what has carbs and what has protein, I dont know if they are good or bad.

I would just love to be able to find something that shows results for me and that I can stick with.

Any and all advice greatly appreciated.

I thought I would all the food that I am planning for today.
    • B. Bran Flakes with mixed dried fruit, s.skimmed milk, coffee
    • Banana
    • Leftover pasta (sauce, vegs, meat, pasta)
    • Apple
    • Oven chips, sausage (grill), beans
At the moment we are trying to use everything in the cupboards and freezer while we pay a couple of big bills so I know that chips aint the best thing but its all that we got for tonight.
  • mornig everybody!

welcome debtmustgo - i think half a stone in a month is a very achievable target

and WOW, well done shelbel, that's an amazing loss! if only i could be anywhere near that motivated!

1lb off for me today - i was hoping for 2 but think i probably scuppered that with the 1.5 cheese sarnies at 2am when i got home on saturday night (oh, and the pints of cider, gin, sambuca etc), and then soooo much hangover food yesterday (including nigella's peanut butter ice cream sundae, why does she have to make it sooo easy? and with things that i have in the cupboard??).

still, a pound off is better than nothing - just must try harder!

    today:
b - rye toast w. soya spread and veggie pate
    s - satsuma, plum
    l - spaghetti ragu
    s - satsuma, apple/plum
s - some oatcakes on way home from the gym
t - leftover cauli cheese with kale, probably pad it out with something else

    have a good day everybody!
