  • Hi everyone, can I join you please?

I've put on over 5st in the last 3 years and to be honest I'm fed up of lugging it around. My joints hurt, I get out of breath, I'm tired a lot and look awful.

I know it won't be easy and it certainly won't be quick and may take me a year or so. I'm determined though I don't want to look like this for the rest of my days.

I'm just going to cut down on what I eat, choose the healthy option and avoid cakes, puddings and alcohol and take some exercise, as at the moment I don't really do any. I'll start gradually and work my way up as my fitness increases.

I've already bought loads of fresh fruit this week and some tinned in natural juice for desert rather than miss out completely. I love to cook but I'm a traditional cook and home baking is really my field  when I bake I'm going to slice the cake up straight away and put them in the freezer, I do lots of baking for the kids and lunches for school and it's so easy to scoff far more than is good for me.

I've already made a start this week and so far so good, I've not slipped yet. My son, bless him bought me a small bar of fruit and nut on Monday as a treat, I've had two chunks and keep it in the boot of the car so I won't eat it all :D

I've got 90lbs to loose and I'm feeling positive and can't wait to have a gorgeous figure once again.
I won't buy it if I can make or borrow it instead

    Morning all,
tappy, hope things are ok with you, sorry to hear you had bad news. I always go for food too, but last time I managed to stop because I didn't want to let bad news and a black mood wreck my figure :o - I didn't want to let it beat me.

Welcome purple_sparkles - I enjoy baking much more than cooking meals too. I bake muffins and leave one each and then immediately freeze the rest to prevent munching.

I lost weight by making small changes to my diet, gradually cutting down portions, cakes, increasing walking and chosing the healthier snacks. If you do it gradually you don't feel so deprived and it makes it seem a bit easier.

    Food today will be:
b: Oats soaked in water with syrup and a nana
l: HM leek and tatty soup from the freezer with a small roll
    d: bacon omelette

Snacks - well I've already had a tunnocks caramel wafer... :o but I did walk 3 miles to work this morning :D That makes 8 miles walking since Monday ;) legs ache though :o

Tappy good luck with WI and hope everything works out.

I think I am just about there now, today I am not thinking about food all the time and just looking forward to my planned meals.

B: Porridge with water and honey

    L: HM lentil soup

D: Veggie sausage, sweet potato mash and lots and lots of veggies

S: Not sure, got lots of apples and a banana and yoghurt in the fridge so any of those if I am peckish later.

    Take care all

  • Hi everyone,
Just a little tip. About a year ago i went to see an ayurvedic doctor (indian doctor) and he said the best thing we can do for our bodies is to drink boiling water throughout the day, as much as 6 cups! He recommened filling a flask and sipping from it regularly..
I have started to do this again and my skin is so much better and i feel cleaner..
Honestly try it, its very beneficial.. ;)

  • I know, it's quite a difficult thing to do and an aquired taste... but he said if you want to clean your pipes you don't do it with tea, you use boiling H2O for best results, so i guess it makes sense..
My grandfather drinks it every morning with a dash of lemon juice and he's nearly 100!

A girl I work with does this in the afternoon as she says it wakes her up more than drinking tea or coffee. She says its great for that mid-afternoon slump
  • Hi
    Not too bad a day.
Had pineapple and yog for bfast. Lunch was advocado on ryvita and diner was spag bol made with quorn by my DD. Just remembered it was a birthday in the office so had a jam doughnut, oops.
Still unable to up the excercise. I wake up, play taxi to kids, get myself to work, come home have diner go to bed. Feeling very lardy.

Tappy sorry to hear you had bad news, hope you're soon back on even keel.

Re hot water. I drink 3-4 cups every day at work. Used to be cold from the cooler but then I had 4 wisdom teeth out and couldn't take the cold so drank it warm, since then only go back to cold when it's very hot. A few of us do this but not knowingly for weight loss purposes. Nice to know I'm doing something positive.:T
