Last week i went to the gym nearly every day, worked out for at least 45 minutes then my sister came over today and never noticed I'd lost a thing! I therefore think it's my diet..
Can anyone recommend some meals which are filling and low in fat.. I love food, but will and can easily follow a plan when i set my mind to it..
I'm 10 stone just now, and would love to get to about 9 - 9.5 :j
Thanks!!
Don't forget that exercise can help develop muscle-tone and muscle weighs more than fat. So although you may not lose much weight by going to the gym, you may improve your muscle tone and so look much better.
But the real way is by reducing any excessive calorie intake (especially unnecessary fats and sugars which are 'empty calories') while, at the same time, increasing exercise levels.
Good Luck - I'm sure that you can lose half a stone in a month with sensible eating and extra exercise. The first month of any diet is when you lose the most weight.
:j :j :j :j - a few starjumps to help get you started!

I keep being tempted into "naughty" things...I'm not gaining but not losing either so I really must sort it out!
Food plan for tomorrow:
Brunch (expect we'll sleep late!): scrambled egg on soya and linseed toast with grilled bacon and mushrooms
Dinner: s/c chicken with roasties, parsnips, carrots, swede and peas
Snack: narna
I know I should do 3 meals a day but on Sundays it rarely happensWill try get some exercise in by gardening.

Evening all, welcome marthada, everyone's welcome so feel free to just join inand debtmustgo I second the gain-muscle-look-slimmer info, and muscle gobbles up more calories on a daily basis too, so helps long-term weight loss.
I've had an interesting few days food-wise, what with graduation and having visitors here, we've eaten out loads. I've just eaten what I felt like, but overall think it was moderate, not weight-loss amounts, but not weight-gain either. Had sweets n crisps last night:o though but was then really sick in the night:rolleyes:, I still feel rough, but slowly improving. If nothing else, weigh in will be interesting this week.
Have a lovely evening everyone, jay xxAnytime;)0 -
evening!
welcome to Mardatha and debtmustgo! :hello:
Commiserations to Floyd x
been at work today - long 10 hour shift
B - 2 x toast and jam
L - roast lunch minus the meat - spuds, butternut squash, sweet spuds, cauli and leek cheese, sprouts, broccoli, carrots and yorkies.(think I got all my 5 a day in 1 meal:D )
small portion xmas pud and custard(only a few spoonfuls honest!:D )
D - possibly spaghetti on a slice of toast. Dh wants custard so I may have a bit on a banana.
Long 11 hour shift tomorrow with an evening meal out too so need to be good the rest of the day.
Hope you've all had a nice weekend.Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi everyone :hello: thanks for welcoming me on board.
Well i'm totally disgusted with myself this weekend, i think I've consumed a zillion calories.. examples wine, creamy curry, bacon roll, crisps, sweets, cake, chips....yuck the list goes on.. I was working a 12 hour shift today, never took anything in with me and bought crappy food from the canteen, i'm so annoyed at myself...anyway...
TOMORROW IS MY BIG DAY!!! :T
I'm having porridge for brekkie when i get up at 5.30am  a banana for midmorning snack, a baked potato and cottage cheese for lunch then some HM soup (still to make it) and some fruit for dinner. I also have ryvita, nuts and raisins and apricots to snack on just in case i hypo , my blood sugar can drop quite quickly and i end up all shaky (i'm not diabetic though) Lets hope i dont reach for the quick fix and shove a mars bar in my gob :rotfl:
Wish me luck!!
