Hi all,
Busy day today so not much to report but yesterday was a little bit slippery! Ended up scoffing some crisps and chocolate fingers yesterday as the meeting ran over by a long way so I was stuck in work late without any tea and facing a load of snack food from the leaving do
So today is another day and there is still cake and nuts lurking so I am avoiding the tea room
B: 2 wholemeal toast and low fat spread
L: Nothing yet, lentil soup in the fridge for when I get long enough to get to the microwaveLeftover roast chicken with veggies
S: Apple and banana, yoghurt and NO CRISPS AND CAKE!!!!!0 -
Hi All,
I need to ask for some advice please
I've just been to my dr to check the results of my fasting blood test - all was ok but my bp is still too high and my weight is off the scale. Shes referred my to a dietician and has asked in the meantime I cut out bread entirely and follow a low carb/high protein diet. Shes says thats easier said than done when you are a vegetarian but that I need to give it a go.
So I need to ask for your collective help in identifying things I am able to eat. For a start I dont know what constitutes a 'high' level for carbs, is it a certain % per 100gm? And protein she has siad should come mainly from eggs and nuts/seeds rather than always pulses as they will bulk my tummy out too much without giving me the right level of protein.
I know the dietician will help with this but with the NHS waiting lists I dont hold out a lot of hope for a quick apt. I plan on keeping a food diary from now until the apt as I am assuming shes going to as me to do that anyway and am hoping if I have one with me we can save time and straight down to it.
Any advice HUGELY appreciated.

Hello everybody,
not doing very well at present...made 2 apple tarts yesterday and scoffed quarter of one last night before going to bed! OH has acquired a taste for fruit cake, bought one yesterday in Lidl and presented me with a huge slice after dinner...would have been rude to turn it down would it not??
Weigh in on Friday, am managing to keep f & v count to at least 5 a day so hope that will eventually have an effect, drinking mostly water too, haven't had a 'real' drink for weeks!
Good luck all
