welcome mintedby30! you've certainly come to the right place - these guys are the kings and queens of healthy recipes, and it's great motivation to come in and read about everyone's success (and the odd little slip up of course!)

    reasonably good day for me:
    b - porridge
    s - satsuma
    l - bean stew
    s - satsuma and apple/banana
t - not sure yet, not much in the fridge, maybe tuna pasta or something

out for dinner and fireworks last night but quite pleased, just a couple of (large-ish) glasses of wine, baked potato w. veggie chilli, followed by hm flapjack. also made a birthday cake and some of the icing may have found its way into my mouth!

away for the weekend but staying with friends and i hope it will be reasonably healthy, out mountain biking one day but i think there will be some drinking involved as well, hopefully they'll balance each other out!

    have a good day everybody

    welcome mintedby30!!:T

OH came home for lunch (10 mile round trip), to give me a hug :D He knows I'm a bit down about tomorrow and came to stop me from attacking the crisps at lunchtime (seeing as he has already hidden the chocolate! :p )

Feeling much better and a bit more positive, we picked a recipe for tonight's chicken and I'm off for a walk between the showers - clear my head a bit.:cheesy:

I think I really need to join in on this! The cold and grey weather is making me feel like eating constantly, you'd think I was planning on hibernating!

I also have my wedding to think about, I get married in March and obviously fitting into my dress and looking good in the photos is a concern :D

I'd like to lose at least 7lbs though if I could lose a stone it'd be ideal. More than that though I want to eat healthily and not snack on junk food because snacking is expensive :rotfl:

Today I've been good so far and am all planned and ready

B - porridge made with water and a spoon of jam
    S - 1 banana, 2 satsumas
L - 2 small rolls with ham and a cup-a-soup (need a new blender so can make own soup to bring to work)
D - smoked sausage, red pepper and mushroom pasta (but a sensible weighed portion!!)

I went for a walk in my lunch break and have to walk to and from the bus stop on the way to/from work. Also going out food shopping tonight, pushing the trolley burns cals right? As long as I stick to list/budget and don't buy cakes :D

Good luck to the rest of you lovely people in here, you seem so friendly so please excuse me just jumping in.

it sounds like you already have your motivation sorted, but we will try to keep you on the straight and narrow!

oh, and shopping definitely burns calories - it's almost like the doctor is telling you to do it ;)

  • Welcome:hello: and good luck newbies, and well done the losers!:T

Having a bit of a mixed week.... Monday's fresh start went well, as did Tuesday (did 34 lengths at the pool which I was very pleased with... nearly didn't go at all!) Last night was a disaster... cheesy baked spuds, bangers and beans at friend's before going to bonfire, several handfuls of haribos while at the display and full fat hot choc and bickies after.... nice though!:p Back on track today but it is a huuuuuuuuuge struggle... I'm another one who wants to constantly shovel junk down in the winter:o Had a big bowl of HM leak and potato soup for tea with a small roll so full up now and there's no tempting goodies in the house so think I can safely say today's been a success... hope I can say the same for tomorrow!!

Moneypooh ((hugs)) and best of luck for tomorrow.
  • Thanks for all the lovely welcome messages, you're a very friendly bunch! :j

Been good today, just had baked potato "hedgehogs" for tea, dd had tuna mayo and cheese and I had philly light!!! O/H works late every third week and goes to a pub quiz some Thursday's so didn't have to bother too much tonight. I'm sure I'll be jealous later though when he comes home having had chiili chips or some such other delectable pub treat!!

My "wispa replacement therapy" treat tonight will be a bath, face pack and a jodi piccoult book, but will only get this if I do an hour on the gym ball- I don't do much active exercise on it rather than mess about looking daft but having great fun!

Off to rescue the cat from being forced to lie in dd's toy pram

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

  • Hi all

Sorry I haven't been into the board for a while. I have been distracted;) by my pregnant sister, who after 36 hours of labour has just given birth to a baby girl called Emma.

Stayed the same weight when I weighed myself on Wed but haven't really been following my food plan over the past couple of days. Will get back on track once everything settles down. Good luck to everyone with your own weight loss efforts.

Stuck to what I'd planned to eat yesterday apart from having 3 spoonfuls of my bf's ice cream!

    Todays plan

B - toast with damson jam
    L - ham sandwich
D - lf veggie curry and rice

Will try hard not to have extra naughty snacks. Think of my wedding photos :rotfl:

    Good luck everyone else today!
