As we were talking about being hot or cold at night I thought I would tell you what I had on in bed last night ~ The winter duvet, the top quilt, pj's and my fleecy ;) Well, Mr Frog was away so I couldn't snuggle up and put my feet on him warm legs so I ended up with socks on too. Dya think I'm ill? I NEVER get too hot you know  Even when it's REALLY hot. I did sweat once in 1994 when I push biked to Norwich on a summer day. I can clearly recall a bead of sweat on my back. It's not as if I haven't got ample insulation so I wonder why

how i wish the heat didnt affect me , i feel i've been like i'm sitting in a sauna , i think i'm just one big solar panel that works off moon light too :rotfl:

Hello all. Can I ask a bit of advice? What do you think is the best way to go about losing weight slowly so that the weightloss is sustained? And how slow should it be? I have not lost weight many times, but each time I have I've lost it quickly and put it back on plus some more. My problem is that I am a piggy and a real snacker, I can only really cope with this by stopping altogether and only eating meals - no snacks at all - when the weight falls off, then I fall off the waggon and it all stops. Is there anyone else like me who is a grazer but also eats meals and has got themselves into a way of life that means they can lose weight sustainably? My problem is motivation, I eat when stressed or bored and forget to say no until it's too late!

(I am 5foot3 and about 11 1/2 stone, so a good 2 1/2 stone overweight. This has crept up ever so slowly over the years and many pregnancies, after each of which I've been a little bit heavier.)

Many, many thanks for any advice! Ness.

The thing i've realised where weightloss is concerned is that people always say "i'm going on a diet" so when you go on something you always expect it to stop and you get off and thats what so many people do and what i used to do, so now i dont use the word diet at all , as i'm on a lifestyle change which is forever so from now on i will always watch what i eat , exercise more and hopefully get to the size i want to be and once there stay roughly in that area , it means i can have a night off or a hoilday as long as i dont do it permentely again i'll be fine

I'm fairly new to these boards, but I thought I'd chime in on this thread. I've been on a "diet" since the beginning of the year and I've lost a total of 15lbs. Might not seem like much, but its been a fun ride and easy to maintain. I have been exercising a few times a week, but the biggest change for me has been going from 3 large meals a day to 6 small meals a day. I usually have two protein shakes per day and the heaviest meal is always breakfast. I find that eating these smaller meals keeps my metabolism up and I always have energy and am less tired than after those large meals. Good to see success stories here on this thread!
  • Hello everyone - welcome MAri and Kalamaker and Well done to Taplady and Angelnikki and all other losers:T

My bad mood yesterday didn't lift until the evening but this morning I woke up with raging tonsilitis so that was probably the start of it yesterday. I had to go to the Doctors who gave me strong antibiotics and I do feel a bit better tonight.

Food has been good yesterday and today, and as Frogga said we have both decided to weigh in tomorrow and then not again until 31st August.

It is very hot and humid here today - looks like it might be going to thunder.

I made porridge this morning and it was lovely! I made it with skimmed milk and a pinch of salt and added a bit of splenda and it was really nice. For lunch I used up some leftover corned beef (only a tiny bit) and had it on a jacket potato with beans and for tea I boiled some pasta and made a mock carbonara thingie with extra lean ham, egg yolk and low fat cream stuff. Afters was a Solero and 2 peaches.

Spent a couple of hours this afternoon doing DD2's room up - painted it yesterday so today was putting it back together - I was melted!

Hope you are all having a good evening.
    Jane

    Hi weight loss folks,

Am a serial lurker, I post occasionally a few times a year, but soak up the tips and encouragement. Have been away working in good old New York for the last three months, living in an hotel. OH MY GOD. I have put on 1 stone and 1 pound in that brief time. Have you seen what those people consider to be a portion? Of course, plays to all my weaknesses and my Northern upbringing of 'You must eat all your dinner to be a good boy!!'. Undone the hard work of most of the last year. I didn't check -in on the site much whilst away and have come back to many changes - a new thread, a few regulars are missing and lots of newbies - (great)!.

I also wanted to say, Frogga, please, cease with the mental comdey recipes, I have just coughed and choked red wine all over my keyboard and I can't afford a new one!!

Looking forward to joining the next new initiatives to get this fat ba*t*rd on the right track again. At least I re-joined the gym yesterday!

    Evening all

Well isn't it lovely to see soo many more folks joining in :j

Its finally cooling down here... dinner was yummy -hm tortillas filled with a mix of roast chicken, onion, sweetcorn and a bit of mayo and a big salad -salad leaves, tomatoes and cumber all from the garden :T the tomatoes are stunning:D

Have done hubby a salad for work with 2 tortillas filled with roast duck (from freezer) onions and hoisin sauce with shredded lettuce and cucumber..so he is happy..oh and a piece of banana and coconut cake from the freezer ;)
He has eaten the other brownie -so that leaves 6 in the freezer..ooohh and to anyone making the recipe i posted for them the other day -keep em in the fridge.... ohhh my word nommy nommy nom nom ;) Hubby went scatty over the 1 he had ..my next batch are going to have sultanas soaked in rum in them mmmmmmm (we can get little pouches of them ready soaked here :p works out more economical than doing my own in rum

Weigh day tomorrow and still feel like i have swallowed a beach ball (TOTM) but we will wait and see ;) I know i have eaten well this week so even if it doesn't show this week i won't be upset :D

Ness.. I have to agree with those who have abandoned "diets" I have dieted since i was 14 and got nowhere -well not long term anyway.. this is the first time i have decide to make "healthier choices for life" and the weight is going :D
well done on the loss taplady :j

Not sure what to do for meals tomorrow.... have loads in -just can't make my mind up -will have to check the meal plan :p ...

right i had better get off -have a great evening all..and good luck to those weighing in tomorrow :D
