Cell biology. I work on tissues from operations that people very kindly agree to donate to us so I have to keep going until the tissue dies. There is a small window of opportunity of study time after it is removed from the person so some days I will be in at 7.30am to set everything up and won't get the call to go to theater until 6pm then I have at least 6 hours of experiments to do.
It might be long hours but I bet it's really interesting! *here speaks a fellow scientist*
Just had pasta/pesto and veggies for my tea followed by a Twinks hobnob :eek: OH has been baking again!!
I'll have a glass of wine tonight - my Friday treatI might not get on to post this weekend, as we're having GS & GD to stay:doh:
Good luck to the weekend weighers:T
Tappy- that meal sounds delicious !!0 -
Evening all,
STS to-day so subconscious seemed to feel that I should binge! To-day I have eaten:
Small serving muesli with banana and tbsp raisins;
Toasted ham and cheese sandwich;
coffee and 4 Mikado biscuits;
Slice quiche and cob of corn;
Ice cream with apple, clementine and plum;
10 large marshmallows...all I had or they would have gone too.
Reckon I should change my name to 'Disgusting'

It certainly is interesting and I would never swap it for a 9-5 routine job, think I would be bored to tears within a week. I am fortunate enough to have the sort of lifestyle whereby it doesn't matter if I am home late (OH works shifts and no kids or dogs waiting for me).
Enjoy your weekend everyone, Tappy, don't work too hard
Just made Nigellas mint and white choc mousse for tomorrows visitors, might have taste tested a few too many times though so I'd better not eat anything else tonight0 -

:whistle: :whistle: Sidles in, well my sort it in September went right down the pan! I did lose a few pounds, but put it all back on.
I've not been in the best of health this year for various reasons, but had an op - which fingers crossed fixed it. I felt under the weather in Sept, put it down to allsorts and then had a lightbulb moment and realised that my iron was down, started on steak and guiness and then went to the docs, have some iron tablets and feel loads better, have been eating like a horse though.
Had amoment today and my trousers are getting tight, so it's back on the wagon. I confess that I haven't been keeping up with you girls (and guys) , but I'm now back in the fold!
Right need to get myself organised and plan everything I'm eating (as part of the grocery challenge I plan my main meal, but I find I'm starving in the morning (and porridge doesn't help!), so need to sort myself out. Might need to start doing the ww points again and maybe dust off an exercise dvd and do that!0 -
Evening everyone,
I'm really sorry for not checking in yesterday but a friend got free tickets to go and see Micheal Bolton in Glasgow and although he wouldnt have beeen my first choice I wasnt going to say no!
Yesterdays menu
B = Scrambled egg, bacon, slice of toast. OJ and white coffee and a scone (this was a breakfast special and I had nothing else till Dinner.
L = Nothing
D = Hotdog in a baguette. This was a last minute grab at the concert. Does anyone know how many WW points are in a standard baguette? I also went to the gym (guilt after the scone) and worked out on the cross trainer for 30min.
Today I have been a busy bee too. I had a cleaning job this morning and then went back to the gym and worked out on the cross trainer again for 30min. Food for today...
B = Asda's own special K
L = Baguette with tuna, salad, peppers and a Muller light
D = Pasta, chicken, sweetcorn, peppers all mixed in a tin of tomatoes (very cheap and filling and the kids will eat it too!)
Havent thought much about tomorrows food as I'm taking the kids to go see a friend and we plan on going for a longgggggggg walk with a skinny latte (how many WW points?
Hope everyone has had a good day!

Good morning everyone!:wave:
Had a very good week foodwise although as I said before, it was more down to lack of tastebuds from my cold... more or less gone now:T ... than some amazing feat of willpower. No exercise though other than the usual daily moving about but will remedy that this afternoon with a walk, and I WILL go to the pool on Tuesday..... procrastinator, I did start off going with a friend but her enthusiasm wore off even before mine did, hopeless!:rolleyes:
Today's menu......
B- half a helping of porridge, didn't keep an eye on it, the other half is lining the microwave....... (probably have a 'nana in a bit )
L- leek and spud soup
D- sweet and sour chicken with rice
Might treat myself to a small bar of chocolate for tonight as not one single piece has passed my lips this week!!:eek:
Well done this weeks losers:T , commiserations to the gainers (jay, it's probably just water and not a real gain so will soon disappear again!;) )
Have a lovely weekend peeps!:D0 -

Morning all,
Pleased to report I have lost 1 lb although I think it was a case of 'only just' as it teetered on 11.12 before settling on 11.11.
Todays food is totally reliant on other peoples cooking so I will eat whatever is put in front of me.
B: Nothing, had a lie in
L: Mozarella and tomato on seeded brown rolls, handful of crispsRoast vegetable lasagne with large mixed salad and a chunk of ciabatta bread
S: There is dessert but not sure if I am that bothered today, we shall see
Have a fab weekend everyone :T0
