Hi all, I've kind of been lurking around this thread for a while but haven't posted before as I didn't think I could join in since I don't have a scales and can't to the "weigh in" bit.
Not having scales does have a good side in that I'm not weighing myself all the time but it also means I can't see if I'm making any progress which often leads to slip ups!
Anyway I thought I'd pop in and see if I couldn't pick up any tips (and maybe some much needed support!) from you lot about healthy eating and keeping me on the right path.
Especially after my recent major over indulgence! It was my birthday on Friday so I have ended up with 4 birthday cakes, 2 big boxes of sweets (1 is the kilo tin!) and lots of alcohol. Most of the cakes/cholocaltes are nearly gone (thankfully not all eaten by me!!!!) and although it's my idea of heaven and I'm greatful for all the gifts my waistline definitely isnt!
Have even started doing sit-ups every evening do ease the guilt! So we'll see how long that lasts!0 -
Hi everyone, well i feel like rubbish today. Little un didnt sleep too well atfer being poorly yesterday n was up at the crack of dawn again this morn. Think i might of gotten 3hrs sleep at best last night. Hopefully he'll sleep better tonight as i've been mean n kept him up all day trying to wear him out. Hasnt worked so far. Why is it some men just dont listen when you tell them you have no money. My OH is best man for his best mate later this year and they are busy arranging his stag do. Only they want to go away for a wk end to go karting and paintballing. Great i said n where you gonna get the money from to pay for that? (he's just had his hrs cut and they're due to go in 6wks), his reply was i'm sure you'll have the money stashed somewhere, you've alway got a secret stash. They've just booked it without asking and he said it's gonna cost £300:mad: . Told him we dont have the money even if i did i would be using it to pay towards one of my debts not for him to be having fun. He got a bit peed offf so i said if you want to go you better start asking for some overtime at work. feel like i'm hitting my head off a brick wall.
Sorry for my rant.

Sounds yum.... any chance of a recipe? Or is it just that
I made it up as i went along!:D I cooked some red lentils and while they were cooking I cooked the spud and Bnut squash with some onion in some stock made with chicken bovril(free on SW) and a veggie stock cube, added some seasoning then when it was all cooked I mixed it together and blitzed it with my stick blender - dead easy but yummy! I used half a squash and 1 big spud and about 3rd of a packet of lentils and its made loads. If you like garlic( I dont) I think it would go well in it too.
I put a pound on this week:eek: I was expecting it. I really must try harder to banish the toad!
welcome to purpleskies!:hello:Do what you love :happyhear0 -
HI All
Wellcome to purpleskies and other newbies.
Loads going on a moment so not been near computer for a couple of days. Have had a bad few days and it looks to continue as my birthday is Monday and celebrations start this weekend. Didn't get to weigh myself but I have put on at least 2 lb and will probably put on more by next week. It comes off soooo slowly but whizzes back on in seconds.
Hugs to all.

Morning all,
Another busy day for me, just hope I can keep away from the vending machine if I am stuck in work late. Although I have been saintly this week I am not convinced I have lost anything because of impending TOTM but we'll see what Saturday brings
B: Porridge made with half skim milk and half water, 1 dsp honey
L: HM veg soup and wholemeal rollNo idea as its OH's call, really need to write a meal plan for the week as I struggle with not knowing how many cals to use up for the day
S: Skinny cappuccino and maybe toast with jam (no butter if I wat it before bed)
Hope you are all well0
