The "long tomatoes" were they sort of plum like but longer and squarer? great description eh :o :rotfl:
Like the one at the bottom of this link :D

OMG what fantastic looking tomatoes! Thank you for posting the link MrsM, it was really interesting.

I bought a new variety to try for my first attempt at tomato growing - '100's and 1000's'. (from Suttons Seeds) I have six plants and each plant so far had over 500 flowers and so the number of fruits I am getting is amazing.. They are like cherry tomatoes and are trailing plants, not upright ones.:rotfl: I just need some sunshine to ripen the darn things now!! Managed one red one so far but that's it...

I also have some plum tomatoes growing from seeds we were given. they are like triffids but am still waiting for any of them to go red...lol.

    Good luck on replacing fridge.

    Hi all.

Hugs to anyone who needs them. :grouphug:

I've not been on here a while due to not having time! I'm busier in the school holidays than the term time even though I teach three days a week!!!

Anyway, going on holiday on Saturday which should be good but all depends on my granddad whose been rushed to hospital - we don't know what's wrong at the moment but he's quite ill anyway. Not that that makes it any easier to be honest. My poor grandma is rushing around to and from hospital and I feel really guilty as I live a distance away and cannot get down to help her (also having a little one whose not allowed into the hospital is a problem as I've got no-one to leave her with).

Also finally had it officially diagnosed that my little one is lactose intolerant - something I had figured out myself a while ago. Never mind at least it's on her official records now!

Sorry, to ramble on about non GC things.

On a more positive note my mother-in-law actually likes my banana bread soo much she wants to sell some of it at her church fete!!!

Got loads in the freezer and emptying the fridge for when (if) we go away.
Oh jed, I hope your granddad gets better soon, love and hugs to you all.
My grandson is lactose intolerant as well as a few other things, it seems to be getting more comon all of a sudden??

Yeah - it is! I had no idea he was so famous :rotfl: certainly some of the stuff is a definate bargain, plus I like that it's local, take my own bag etc :T Last week he had at least 1kg of cherry tomatoes still on the vine for £1... might *see* you in there and not even know it's you - the virtual world of MSE, eh!

  • Morning all,

sorry, not had much chance to get on yesterday. NSD for me yesterday and hopefully today too as will be too tired when I finish work...:D

Will need to pop out tomorrow (I hate shopping weekends but only time I seem to have at the moment as too tired after work :( )

Sorry, I know this is off topic, but only a quick line - thought you all might like to see the project I have just finished - hope you don't mind as really proud of it - http://www.flickr.com/photos/29648066@N08/sets/72157606735349634/show/with/2764921496/ - hope this works as not sure how to post a set? :o

Anyway, back on topic - Have been pretty good on the GC challenge this week - came in under budget last week so made up for 1st two weeks when I was really over - need to be doing the same for this week and next to finish in budget

All this talk of a slow cooker has made me drag mine out, so I am about to put sausage cassarole on so it's ready for when we get in tonight from work - mmmm, dinner ready when I get in, brilliant, why didn't I think of it earlier?

Have a good day everyone - the forcast looks good! :D

had takeout tonight to celebrate house sale going through (but I reckon thats entertainment budget not groceries)

That is what I say too. :p We don't spend much on ourselves so the odd takeaway or meal out is entertainment. DH has had a weeks holiday this week as we can't afford for him to have the reduced wage of paternity pay. We've gone now where so I think we deserve a Pizza Hut treat, perhaps the buffet.
Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!
  • denisefowler, you have wonderful taste ;)

Who was talking about watch batteries a few pages back? The jeweller on the high st (I'm in Preston lancs) does them for £2.50, links removal £2. Going to take in the gorgeous DKNY watch the bf bought me for our first xmas and my wrist has somehow shrunk 3 links since lol??

I'm working on my giant to-do list today. The BF is off on a residential training course this weekend so no need to cook! :D
