If we increase the monthly (or other periodic) line rental charge by more than the increase in the RPI we will tell you; or during the term.
Now, looking at the proposed prices…
1. Minimum Call Charge
Increase from 5p to 15p = 200%
2. Out of Bundle Rates
Increase from 10p to 15p = 50%
3. Non-Geographic Rates
Increase from 15p to 20p = 33% Increase
The current RPI is 4.6%, and as you can see, you will be increasing more than this, which relates to the clause in the contract as quoted above.
Am I missing something? The clause specifically only mentions the monthly line rental being increased, not per-minute call charges?0 -
hey, i dont usually post on the forums, but i thought id just let you all know. I sent the template email above to vodafone via there webform on there website and got a reply telling me i can leave my contract(no charge).
If anyone else wants to do the same, here is the instructions they gave me...
If you still wish to cancel your account, you can call us on 191 from your phone and select option 1 then 4 and ask the advisor to transfer you to the NES team (Non Eligible Saves). They will be happy to help you
Hope everything works out...
Cheers.

Ok this was my second response
Hi Mr. """"""""
Thanks for your email to Vodafone about the changes in the charging rate. Let me assist you with this.
Mr. *******, I would like to tell you that we reserve the right to increase / decrease our charges from time to time and / or introduce new charges from time to time. If we increase / decrease our charges, we will give you at least 14 days' prior notice.
We've given more than a month's notice to all of our customers about the change of the tariff.
Please note, as per our terms and conditions you've rights to cancel your contract with us if your usage is more than 10 % then I will arrange your contract to be cancelled with us without any early cancellation fee
I replied again with the response given in this thread
Good evening Mr ******
Thanks for your email to Vodafone about the cancellation of your account.
I can see that one of my colleague have replied to your query and if you have not received the email then please find the content below.
Mr. ******** I understand that you have read our Terms & Conditions and have found a clause according to which you will be able to cancel your contract because of the proposed changes to call charges without incurring any penalties. You have calculated your usage as per the proposed rates and are sure that your bills would rise by a large percentage. You have a valid point whish I accept, however, in order to cancel the contract as per the terms, you will have to use your phone in September. The bill for the September usage would be generated in October. You would have to get back to us then and after we have compared your previous bills with your September month's usage, we will cancel your contract without any penalty. As of now we can't arrange for your contract to be cancelled. This is because as of now the call charges haven't changed and hence we can't cancel your contract now.Mr. *****, I’m glad to have helped you and if you need me, please feel free to get in touch at any time and I'll do my very best to help.
Kind Regards,
Johnn Joseph
