have a lovely time away beemuzed
we'll keep the home fires burning :rotfl:
did another couple of cupboards out in the kitchen and threw away loads of old plastic tubs with no tops and loads of tops with no tubs!... went and got more rabbit and chicken pellets... cooked tea, prepared a load of veg to go in the freezer before it went off, put another couple of things on Ebid, rang a friend who I haven't spoken too for a while, and also sorted out some baking tins to share out among my girlies.
Just watched Jimmy going around northern farms whilst doing the veg... I thought it was a very good programme...especially the rhubarb...which reminds me... we've got some in the garden I ought to get in the freezer tomorrow.
Anyway, think that's me done for the day... hope the re-organisation is going well for everyone elseA family that eats together, stays together

Where is everyone? all busy re-organising your houses?
Managed to sleep last night...yay! so this morning I've cleaned and sorted the utility room, put a couple of loads of washing through, found some clothes that belong to our youngest daughter and bagged them up ready when she calls again (she moved into her own place a few months ago and I'm still finding her stuff!)
Downside of utility room cleaning... found another pile of ironing!
Catch up with you all later.A family that eats together, stays together

How is everyone getting on? I'm still looking after my friend's dogs who decided they were in a go slow mood this morning so I didn't get much done I'm afraid but I did get the hall carpet shampoo'd and cleared out some rubbish out the hall cupboard whilst I was at it. I'm still here!
Spent the weekend with family and took Tom to the Parrot Sanctuary near Skegness which was fun.
Monday was spent finishing off the garden.. dog proofing.. we've put a fence in to seperate the garden so puppy gets the paving slabbed area and tom gets all the grass. Have to have it like that so is easier to clean but also keeps her out of Thomas's way when he wants to play with his toys.
I've also put up some coat pegs in the outhouse to keep clutter out of the coat cupboard.. everyday coats can now be hung up near the dog when you come in instead of thrown into the understairs cupboard.
I've put up some chalkboard norice boards from GLT (went through quidco) which are fab! They're peal and stick so I've put them near the door in the outhouse next to the coat hooks for when Thomas starts at school so as I'm leaving the house with him I can check see if we need anythng for school that day.
I've put up another notice board with a key rack next to it in the kitchen so husband can be more organised with his keys (ie not leaving the where they land and then blaming me for doing the washing and putting the washing down on top of them...)
So getting more organised in time for after the school holidays have finished!
Oh, Ive ordered a shredder from tesco direct to get rid of some of the paper mountains..Starting my DMP Journey.0 -
Bex that is organised! I love the sound of the chalkboards. I have been shredding things but anything that has full card numbers on or pin numbers etc I've been burning in a small metal bucket. There's a fair amount of heat comes off a few bits of paper!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Well, two days into the challenge and my wardrobe [minus, I hope  the woodworm which came free with the aforementioned wardrobe] is built. I discovered that it was minus assorted screws [given but lost ] and two hinges out of six ... maybe FreeCycle isn't how I should acquire my furniture ..... Having taken aaaaaaaages to put together [only 5 pieces for goodness' sake!] I'm now going to bed and will fill it up tomorrow. The scullery is tidier, the kitchen is emptier [by one wardrobe :rotfl:] and Slick City, here I come  :rotfl:If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0

I've found my dining room table and the dining room to go with it. Out went 2 ridiculously ginormous 6' long 3 seater sofas cunningly wedged either side of the table, the room is 10' x 12' with 2 doors, 3 windows and a fireplace. Had to give in and allow the OH to place an armchair in one of the alcoves but its an improvement on the sofas. This allowed me to access a cupboard that I haven't been able to open since we moved in. Out went 50 or so VHS videos. Haven't had a video player for at least 4 years.
Moved the 18 place dinner service we were given as a wedding present into the vacant space. All still in its boxes as I daren't use it. The M-I-L went to great lengths to explain that it was bone china, discontinued and irreplacable. Now means I have vacant shelves in the cupboard under the stairs. Well I did until I filled the space with 14 boxes of beer left over from the school summer fete. My next challenge is to drink the beer thus creating more space on the shelving in order to clear out other cupboards. A very cunning plan.
Quite funny really as I spend my working week convincing other people to sling allsorts of unnecessary stuff. This weeks disposal included school dinner registers going back to 1983..... 25 years worth of those things takes up an awful lot of space. I haven't dared touch the very dusty boxes on the top shelves yet. The boss cowers when I say I'm off to have a bit of a clear out. It does seem a bit like Christmas at times though when you open a cupboard and go oooooh I never knew that was in there.... that being 10,000 books of bingo tickets. No surprises for guessing what the next school fundraiser will be!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Morning fellow de-clutterers! My day off today, and as it's looking grey out I have no excuses not to get on with it.
So far today I have sorted out 15 items to go to a charity shop. I've also done one load of washing (about half the washing basket) so will get the rest done too.
I'd also like to tidy up my wardrobe. It's no longer over-flowing but needs a good tidy up and hopefully I can fit some of my charity Christmas shoebox stuff in their too as at the moment it's taken over my spare room.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Morning everyone - wow bexbex that sounds really organised - really need to get a board too - going to get one today. Could do with a key thing too, am going to get a key fob to attach my door key to the car keys as I left the keys in the door again this morning!!! So lucky nobody let themself in and helped themselves!
Started the bairns room yesterday and discovered why the canvas wardrobe leans - it's because there were hundreds of cuddly toys stuffed down the back. So removed and bagged them up and put them in the loft - let her keep her favorite few - but she never plays with them, and they are all bagged up for the move now (whenever that might be).
Am putting off the filing cabinet and piles of papers - but I know it has to be my next job to getting organised.
Need a new washing line also - it fell down last night. Will get that today to instead of putting it off like I usually do.0 -
Goodness everyone has been busy!
Well I set off this morning to do some grocery shopping...afraid to say it was at Mt.T's...but it's quicker than trying to find parking in our little town as it's just on the outskirts. I didn't want any meat or fruit or veg, just baking things really to try and get the freezer stocked up. Anyways... I'd no sooner walked in the door when the blummin fire alarm went off :rotfl:
I hung around a bit... a false alarm thank heavens..and have just got home, unpacked said groceries, put them away and sat having a cuppa. I had a right bargain in Mr. T's...I got 4 packets of stewing beef for 1.49 each!! I normally buy from the local butcher but a bargain too good to miss... it's cooking away on the stove now ready to make into beef pies. So think I will be busy today making those for the freezer instead of reorganising! Don't know about anyone else but I like to get my freezer full of baking and meals before I start back at work...there's nothing worse than coming in after working with the naughty boys/girls than having to start cooking from scratch sometimes. I find that if I have a few part-started meals in the freezer it's a god send!
I did get the rhubarb in freezer yesterday, and started on a pile of paperwork on my desk, gave hubby another big bag of old linen and towels to use at work or on his bikes...so I think I can afford to do a bit of cooking!
(I must add that I don't think all children in schools are naughty :rotfl:it's just that I work with the ones that are about to be excluded/school refusers/behavioural problems etc....they're lovely really :T)A family that eats together, stays together
