ve my "tut", my OH's from when he moved in here [4 years ago], my Mum's [2000], my Dad's [2004], my exOH's [2000] and the children's [constant], plus the contents of a workshop, less the heavy machinery! Do I qualify for membership?
Today I've done very little - but have remembered to make pizzas for everyone, no spending - this is good!If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0 -

DdraigGoch - anyone who wants to look back in a round a couple of months and feel they've made a difference qualifies!
Actually, I've not had a great day - having sadly spent most of it on spider solitaire!!! I have done ironing and sorted the towels, but the pantry shelves are all still muddled as ever. However, I'm not going to beat myself up about it - tomorrow I'll just have to do a little more. Is that OK?Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
I have spent the last 2 days sorting through mine and the kids wardrobes. The problem is I am now in more of a mess than when I started
I need to bag it all up for charity shop/ school/ bin etc.
Still, it will be great when it's all done
been through my freezer and fridge and food cupboards, put all stuff near date at the front so I don't waste anything.
It actually looks much better now I've written it down :rotfl::)Do more of what makes you happy:)0 -
Had a bad couple of days sorting wise, ie: nothing done!! So OH and I tackled the cupboard under the stairs today! We managed 9 bags to the charity shop, 3 bags in the bin and OH had a bonfire!! Only thing is cos it was under the stairs the rest of the house looks no different! Taking the kids out for the day tomorrow with friends so won't do much round the house but at least we won't be here to make a mess! Well done to everyone on what you've done so far!

Thanks.
I'm half way through putting up a wardrobe. Once this is done I can sort the clothes I want back into it, then drop off the rest at the charity shops. Most of my clothes come from there anyway, so I don't think eBay is the way to go!
So, that's my mission for tomorrow - at least for this challenge. I've got the "switch everything off then back on again whilst watching the electricity meter to find out which appliance is the worst offender" challenge, then the "find the floor, I know I had one under here some time last Autumn" challenge, and the "isn't there a kitchen in here somewhere?" challenge - ought to keep me busy!If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0 -
I so need this challenge. My daughter starts nursery mid september and I'm going to try (no I am) to be organised for then. I'm a stay at home mam who has never had a reprieve (my child has rarely left my side except for when husband is home from work and that isn't very often) so once september comes if I've already organised the house and our lives I will finally have the quality "me" time that I am craving and weekends can be more enjoyable family time.
I need to organise, tidy and clean the house - the house is on the market and if somebody phones to view we have to put them off for a few days cos it takes that long to get things straight, which is NOT good.
I need to organise and simplify our lives and try to be a bit more old style. Everything is so stressful, busy and unorganised right now today I left our back door open when we went out for 3 hours and we do not live in the best of areas and a few days ago my husband left the front door key in the lock (our house is right on the street too, no garden) so I had to sprint home from dropping him off, luckily the key was still there.
I've only just found this thread so I'm going to bed now with my note pad and I will come up with a menu plan and a shopping list that's healthy but cheap and a plan of action for decluttering and tidying tomorrow.
Glad to see there are a lot of stressed puppy owners on here too. We have a 5 month old beagle puppy who is cute but a handful. She is toilet trained now but the place is still upside down so I have to get on top of this.
Anyways, excited to read about everybodys progress...feeling a bit overwhelmed but guess I need to start small.0 -
What a brilliant thread...I think I might join too, If thats ok.
I gave up work 3 months ago as I decided I wanted to be a stay at home mummy and I thought by now my house would be sorted and I would be a perfect housewife.... How wrong was I!
My house seems to be in a worse state than it was when I was working 40hr week... Its not dirty but messy and cluttered and it is doing my head in!
So thanks for this thread as it has given me the motivation I need to get it all sorted out.
There is a local bootfair this coming saturday so I am going to try to get most of the house de-cluttered by then so I can get rid of some unwanted items and make some spare cash which will come in handy at the mo...
I also want to start decorating..I have had the paint for months but havent got around to it yet, So my aim this week is to de-clutter as much as possible and get DS room prepared for painting next week..October grocery Challenge

Morning all
Well My hosue looks somewhat better havent tackled mount paperwork yet but will do - but its such a ncie day and ive been promising the littlie a trip to the beach all week but it was horrid last week and i had to work all weekend so am jsut checking weather now to see if it is nice enough to take him - probably only be tere an hour or so max.
Well all my freecycled items are now gone - thank god - i have space and sons room looks half empty now his toys are gone.
Have been through his wardrobe and charity shopped a fair few bits as well as trousers to the school before the nursery broke up so thats done - jsut a bag of tshirts to drop off later but i think my aunt wants them so will wait and see.
Dishes mostly done bar two plates in the sink
remaining toys are tidy in living room (although bens room is another matter)
need to get washing done - got a load of washing to put out and about 4 loads to put in (i moved here 3/4 years ago and have never seemed to catch up with washing)
Topher - those poundland tiles are good and very easy to fit as they are adhesively backed - plus they are easy to cut (nce you read the instruction on how to do it on the back of the packs) I got 14 packs to do my hallway which was a dark dingy brown council tiled floor - now have like a marbled greyish stone effect and it looks much nicer and brighter in there.
Edited to say - yeah its going to be 26 degrees today so i think i will take littlie down the beach for a bit and keep my promise - before coming home via Tesco and then making dinner.
Time to find me again0
