Hi All
Too late to join??
Ive had a few days - two last week and one this week so far of dedicated decorating and decluttering.
LAst weeks days - Wednesday i spent painting my hallway - from a horrid dingy yellow colour to a clean white. Thursday was spent layign a tiled floor (ok granted the cheap £1 ones from poundland) but boy do they make a difference and my hallway shes done! Will post pics later when bf brings cmaera back form work.
This week - i decided that my son (4) has too many toys so they needed sorting through which i thought would be a monumental task seeing as he is off and offered to help me out - nope was very good and have come away with lots so will be bunging all that on freecycle later on. Have also been snoopign round the hosue for other bits to freecycle and have a few pieces and mother in law wants the two tv dinner tables we have so they have a new home already now for jsut my old slow cooker, the wooden wardrobe thats dismantled takign up space in my bedroom, paper shredder and a small fishtank.Time to find me again0 -
Sammyjig and Sammy_kaye18 - this is definitely the case of the more the merrier - the more folk involved the more obliged I'll feel to actually make myself do things!
We've had a lovely day out in Lavenham, with a terribly non-OS lunch I'm afraid. However, talking of dogs.... our somewhat elderly collie clearly found the leftovers from last night's shepherds pie a bit rich...still, all dealt with quickly!!!!
Need to make myself get this material cut out and am definitely stalling for time here.Resolution:

So, I bathed the dawg - never a popular job! I then did a load of washing and hung it out.
I was expecting something delivered so stayed in this morning, bit this afto walked the dawg to the vet to make an appointment for his jabs.
Relaxed after that, in the garden, with a sudoku.

good morning everyone
Today I have a full day planned. We're going to take my 3 year old to the cinema for the first time to see Wall-E.. hopefully he'll sit still! lol
Then I need to start on the outhouse which is where I keep all the animal food and where the cats sleep at night..
We have 3 cats, 1 puppy, 2 rabbits and 2 hamsters so have to be organised with them all lolStarting my DMP Journey.0 -
well yesterday i managed to put
3 bags of toys
a trampoline
a ride on toy
a toy lorry
a toy trolley
a childrens toy garage
a large wooden wardrobe
a paper shredder
a fish tank
a helter skelter toy
all on freecycle and they were asked for within 10 minutes of being on there so i have lugged them all outside this morning already and they are now all awaiting collection - little boys room is now half empty (finally!) and i think i will be able to make a start with painting easily in september now - i want ot do it the first week of september so i have something to keep me occupied for his first week of school so am getting everything in and ready for that now.
also have two small tv dinner tables that i have to scoot off to my mother in laws at some point as she wants them but htink i will do this next week
now think i will tackle all our paperwork at some point this week as i have 5 draws full fo jsut 'stuff' - 3 int he kitchen and two in the living room. I also have two boxes under my coffee table that i want to root through and empty. Plus a lot of books to put in boxes to store away nicely.
Im getting there slowlyTime to find me again0 -
sammy_kaye18, that sounds like some serious sorting you got done! I've overslept a bit today, so not got my head around this yet. I need to menu-plan from the freezer before going to the shop, I must do 30minutes ironing and at least one hour's sewing before lunch. Will think about the rest of the day's jobs as I go...."Clear out the larder shelves" is trying to force itself to the front of my mind, but I'm pretending to be deaf!!!!Resolution:

Hi all. I'm still in my nightie - but - I had to add some items to my internet order for Mr.T. I decided to delete and redo and by doing so - with a bit of tweaking - I got £12 off with a code - yippee!
Dawg is snuggled up next to me, but I'm just off to get showered and dressed.
Dh has been working hard at work and is in need of a quiet day. My beloved Kenwood just stopped mid mix () and he is going to fiddle with it and he's going to do it outside.
Later we're going to the library as he got a letter from them yesterday to say he owes £3+ in fines on a book he thought he'd bought from a charity shop! doh0 -
Morning everyone. A huge well done to you all so far- you've really inspired me to get in gear. Unfortunately I do not have the summer off, but I do have a week off soon, and a friend who wants to come and stay in September so the six week deadline seems like a good one. I will joing you informally if that is ok!
So far today I have sorted through my Christmas shoebox haul and tidied that away. I have also listed ten books on Freecycle (wonder where I got that idea from Beemuzed.....)If I am feeling strong I may list another ten tomorrow! One of my big declutter lightbulb moments has been that I do not need to hoard books that I have read! I now just try and keep reference books (ie Cookery, craft, text books etc) and pass all read novels onto friends and family, charity shops and Freecycle. So far I have got rid of an entire book case but have noticed that the books have started to pile up again.
Tomorrow I commit to sort through my paperwork. I had a massive clear out a couple of months ago but really want to stay on top of it, so a couple of hours tomorrow should enable me to do that.
I may also offer a bundle of magazines on Freecycle as I have quite a stash, taking up space.
Happy saturday folks...:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
HI everyone,
I would love to join this challenge as alhough I don't have the 6 weeks off I do have a week where my teens are away on hols with their dad (woo hoo) and would like to get at least a plan together and loads of decluttering done. The three tasks a day I am going to try as counting up I have 9 rooms/areas to get sorted which includes loads of paperwork and general chaos.
My weaknesses are a) feeling overwhelmed and defeated before I start or b) becoming so engrossed in one particular area that 4 hours goes by and I seem to have more mess than I started with!
Well here goes Saturday
1. finish glossing DS room (only skirting boards and radiator to go)
2. Collect all paperwork together in one place
3. Fill two bags with stuff for rubbish/charity shop
Have a good day

I have the six weeks without meetings. (I clerk Governing Bodies at several schools). However I have started to archive the files... boy what a load of trees!
Also have silly questionnaire thingies and other stuff to complete from the Local Authority. Why do they want to know all this stuff? What will they do with the answers? and no I don't get paid for filling them in..#
moan over.
Otherwise my summer will be spent trying to get rid of the massive load of tut we have collected over the last 30 years!!!0
