Welcome TillyTrippit - still here beemuzed - have been knee deep in sorting and decluttering especially as how house needs to be show home esque by thursday evening as we have a new estate agent coming to take photos of our house.
Went into our mess guns blazing last week and said I was going to shock DH when he came in - but I didn't, I just made more mess - but I did get a lot done. I have been painting also after the house flood threw a spanner in the works.
Now DH has decided to take a holiday next week - a whole week at home! - so I will not get much done that week. So I have until the weekend really to get all sorted and organised. Need to do some more things to make life simpler and more organised though even though I have got rid of a lot of clutter and still am not ready uniform wise for nursery - will do that with hubby next week.
Off I go again - I will shock him tonight...0 -
Been meaning to ask beemuzed how are you gettin along? have you begun a bit of the old style simple life yet?0

Hi scattymam1, M.E. and welcome Tilly Trippit - well, having survived the week with the niece and nephew (actually, I did enjoy it!) took them home to Wales on Saturday and stayed with my sister so that we could attend a family funeral together yesterday. Drove home last night and am now rushing into the final straight as it were! Loads of washing on line (fingers crossed there!) and have cleared loads of stuff from dining room ready for visit to sevice the boiler - should have been tomorrow, but they've called to ask if today is ok. Well, I'm clear in there, so yes! Have given myself 10 must-do tasks before the term begins, including some sewing, not just de-cluttering and sorting. Also want to spend a bit of time out and about...and yes, I need to get into sch**l as well. People find it hard to believe that I don't just abandon the place for the whole holiday - don't seem to understand that it just doesn't work that way! Meals sorted for rest of week though and no more shopping needed until w/e.
Right, off to tackle all the stuff lurking in various hidey holes around the bedroom!Resolution:

I'm glad it's bin day today - I've got rid of so much rubbish lately, feeling very tidy and clean and a bit more organised. Still got a lot more to do though, have to start thinking about good old christmas - was so unorganised last year(was wrapping hampers at midnight on christmas eve)(would love to have a really good nights sleep on christmas eve for a change). I at the least should make a christmas list of gifts and what to get. Will do some to do lists and check the birthday diary list today on the car journey were going on. Need to make some weekly meal plans also instead of taking hours thinking up new ones every week. On our trip today I'm going to buy some keyrings in order to organise our key system too. What is anyone else doing to be more organised except for the decluttering and general tidying of the house.0

Ooh also, been collecting blackberries, soaking them and freezing them in a desperate bid to be a bit more old style. I'm going to make crumbles and sorbet with the fruit.0

I'm still here!
Have been back from holiday for a week.
All washing/ ironing up to date (despite bad weather!).
3 bags of stuff to charity shop, 1 bag of DS old clothes waiting to go to a friend.
Sorted the cupboard under the stairs and the cupboard under the sink.
DH has started sorting the garage. Already taken a trailer load of stuff to the tip! Lots of stuff to do a boot sale and go on ebay etc.
Have sorted all my paperwork (huge pile of shredding to do now).
Bought a small bookcase for DD bedroom and sorted it all out, nice and tidy now (for a while)
Next job: Hallway :)Do more of what makes you happy:)0 -
Hi everyone! Glad to see that some are still going strong! Been away on holiday but back now and determined to get stuck in. We're having an extension built at the moment and the builders have told me they will be ready to knock through a week on Monday!! Which means I really need to get the bathroom and little bedroom sorted out ASAP as both these rooms have to be emptied!! Taking the kids to softplay in a bit but hopefully when we get back they'll be quite tired, giving me chance to have a bit of a sort out. Good luck everyone!

Welcome back howskint? !!
Well, I've managed to tick one of my ten tasks off the list, so nine to go! Have thrown loads for the binmen today, and we should be heading up to the tip with some of the junk currently residing in our conservatory. It would be nice to actually use it as a room rather than the place where things get left! Ned to also get cracking on some of the sewing today too. Am using the timer to make sure I don't linger too long on here today.
Scattymam1, I'm also beginning to think Christmas lists too!
Sammyjig - you have been busy - well done!
See you all later!Resolution:

Ha Ha I did it - home is clean and tidy as new estate agent came to take show home photos last night - BUT, I stuffed some piles into cupboards so now I need to start going through the cupboards. I did all my kitchen cupboards last week so it's clothes and bedroom cupboards today, then some meal planning and shop lists on computer. Then plan my christmas presents that I'm making and start tonight once DD has gone to bed.0

Quite a good day today - went into school and did some paperwork, also spent some time beginning to sort the staffroom out (we've had it painted over the summer and everything from the shelves is piled in the middle of the room!)
Made progress on one of my sewing projects too, and cleared another pile of "junk" from upstairs.Resolution:
