Well, yesterday was a fantastic day! In three hours I blitzed the house, and everywhere looks good right now! I finished off the sewing project and started the next, and feel that, with just a week to go, I may finally feel organised enough to face the new term! Hope the rest of you are also feeling you're getting somewhere!
And wow, Bank Holiday Monday and it's dry and quite warm when the sun appears!

Well done beemuzed - sounds like a fab day. Been quite productive here too. Had to empty the bathrrom ready for it being ripped out so that made us go through all the toiletries and get rid of anything out of date etc. Also went through the little bedroom Managed to sort a binliner of toys for the charity shop, a bin liner of 'stuff' in the bin and loads of burnable stuff waiting for OH to have a bonfire later. Also but 4 lots of stuff in the loft that we want to keep for the new baby but the boys have stopped playing with/wearing.
Am starting to get a bit worried because I'm back at work on Monday, the extension is still weeks away form being finished and at 26 weeks pregnant I haven't done anything to get ready for the new arrival! Keep telling myself it'll all be fine - I just know that when I'm back at work I have very little energy by the time the boys are in bed.Anyway - moan over - should put my energy into sorting stuff!

You're not alone. I'm 27 weeks pregnant and have done nothing for the new arrival. My 4 yr old daughter is still using the cot bed that the baby is going to be sleeping in. We keep meaning to get her a nice princess style single bed but still haven't got round to it.
We need to swap bedrooms with her as she will be sharing her room with the baby and needs the bigger room but with a huge wardrobe which needs dismantling in our room and re-building in her room and a huge Kingsize bed that I'm worried won't fit in the smaller room I am daunted by the whole thing!

We also have no monitor for the room, nappies, babygrows or anything yet. I have a jumper my mum knitted for the baby and a present my friend in Oz has sent over, and that's it... Are you as disorganised as us??
I'm so sorry if you were enjoying this thread and mine is the last post!!

  • Soapy955 - glad I'm not alone! Think I'm probably worse! A lot of the stuff I had for the boys was passed on from friends and won't do another baby so I'm having to start again with a lot! The moses basket fell apart when we got it out of the loft (Had done at least 7 babies inc my 2!), pushchair has given up, some horrible creature chewed through the steriliser wire in the loft, need a new matress for the cot. When the extension is finished everybody needs to move bedrooms - not a job I'm looking forward to.
Because we are having work done I daren't buy anything in case it gets ruined by builders dust! So yep - def disorganised!! On one baby website I go on some of the girls were talking about starting to pack their hospital bags!! Way off even thinking about that!

Out of interest do you mind me asking when you're due? I'm due Dec 2nd.

    Hi Beemuzed,

I so wish I'd seen this thread a month ago! I work in a school and decided that this summer I was going to find the motivation to do all the stuff I should've done but never got round to.....this thread would've helped me no end. I only really kicked in over the last 2 weeks and have only got 4 days left now like you and so am working fantically to do it all before I go back!

I've not read through the whole thread yet, but will do in the morning and hopefully get a bit of inspiration.

    Good luck! :)

Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.

jo1972 - welcome anyway! if you're anything like me if you get anything done in the next four days you'll go around feeling as pleased as punch! After all, anything is always better than nothing! It's a real bonus for me that the house is now tidy (we had an old college friend who came to stay on Sunday - now thats the sort of motivation that works for me!) and I'm determined to see it stays that way now. Still need to get sewing done that I'd been putting off during term time. And paperwork is always a losing battle! Still, onwards and upwards!
Soapy and howskint? - stop worrying! It will get done in the end and you will be ready for those precious new bundles when they arrive! I remember being told to ask myself how important something would be in twenty years time - answer - very little that seems vital today! Enjoy having littlies around while you can, they grow up far too quickly, believe me! One day they'll have flown the nest, and that'll be time enough to be organised!

I'm due 21st November. I was actually thinking when I woke up this morning that I should be thinking about my hospital bag soon. I hadn't even thought of it before this morning!

Wow - am getting down to nitty gritty now - have a sparkly cooker top (had forgotten rings round jets were chrome!) and I've even been moved to tidy up the hanging baskets! School prep needed though.....

The cupboard under the stairs had a clear out.
Went up into the loft.... and moved things around. Got a binliner of absolute junk. Progress.
Rubbish collection today so the mountains of cardboard boxes, kept in case they were needed, included boxes where the original appliance had gone to the rusty can maker in the sky!!!
    Time for a coffee....
