    Happy Birthday Haribo:bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake:

I can't do flashing birthday cakes but put three ordinary ones instead.

I am trying to lose weight too. There is a thread in the marriage and family sub board called Atkins and low carb diets. Ted is doing a Dr Dahlqvist modified low carb plan, a couple of others are doing strict Atkins and some are doing the Idiot proof diet.

I have managed to stick to the eating plan for about ten days now - only lasted 6 days on Atkins years ago. I do not dare weigh myself but the flab is changing shape,IYKWIM!

Have just dished up salmon fillet or veggie burger for DDs with cauli cheese and made a bowl of home made coleslaw to have tomorrow.

    Hugs to everybody.

    Evening everyone,
i`ve just eaten a huge spag bol so i`m waiting for it to settle before walking the houndies and sorting out the kitchen.

Pippa.S - i hate ironing and i`ve left it until the pile of clothes was huge and DH was walking round all wrinkly :D

The last few days we`ve been having some unpleasant phonecalls, well more of a nuicance really. I think that someone has dialled wrongly and now our number must be on a redial or something as the same person has rung for the last few days, it`s always a bloke cursing and swearing.
DH has answered the last few calls and just put the phone down but after the second one today when i was home along i lost my rag a bit and dialled 1471. I rang the number and asked the man who answered why he kept ringing me but he sounded like he`d been in the pub all day and just did the usual swearing.
I`m afraid i wasn`t very nice to him  but i`ve not had a call back since.:D
I wonder if he`d appreciate a couple of calls at 4am when i get up for w*rk, i could set off my panic alarm down the phone to wake him up a bit:D

Better get a move on or i`ll be up all night instead of sleeping, last of the chores now then houndie walking and then the garden needs watering before i shower myself.

    Have a good evening everyone.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Sorry Nelski!! But, my, are they doing my hormones the world of good!!

Master Jayward - well done on passing your driving test!

Master Dorry - well done on those SATs results!

Princess Pixiedust - how is LO's finger?

Essex-girl - how is your DH?

We've had a hasty carbonara eaten at about 90 miles an hour because DH has just had to go out on a quote. He's quite busy at the moment and lots of people want quotes for simple little things like replacing fence panels and so on. Some tradesman won't do the small jobs because they don't think they're worth it but every penny counts and DH will do them quite happily, especially when they're local. He has signed up to an agency that takes care of maintenance for elderly or disabled people who don't want to go into a home and give up their independence. When he does jobs like that he invariably gets given homemade cakes and bacon rolls plus the jobs quite often lead to other things when they find out what he can do. Once he had to put up a couple of shelves for an elderly couple and came away with a list of lots of other jobs they wanted doing so it quite often pays off.

Well, DS2 and his bride are coming round shortly to collect our cheque for our half of the wedding nosh. £15.95 a head!!! The caterers have graciously said we do not have to pay for two toddlers on the guest list. There is a child option but it was not much less in cost and all they provided for that was chicken nuggets and chips! I know I could have saved a bit - there are nine or ten children going - but I don't see why the caterers could not have just done smaller versions of the main food.

Anyway, haven't I 'mioliered'? I'd better go and get the kettle on but, as my visitors are coming straight from playing Badminton, they might prefer a beer!

    See you all later.

Sunnyday - that's awful. I had menacing phone calls some years ago when the police and BT said there was nothing they could do but nowadays they will help so, if it continues, contact them. I did find that a very loud whistle blown down the phone can make an offensive caller scream in pain.

Well, again I am not posting or even reading regularly. Just want to say you are all very much in my thoughts.

I am now on holiday for 3 weeks and next 10 days being busy with visitors, appointments, DGSs etc plus a bit of chilling out. We have to go and see the lawyer about signing off the deeds and updating the wills. Off on our travels 7th August so looking forward to that. Back at work 19th August.

Having to water the garden every night as it is so warm here - not complaining. Apart from the roses which have taken a battering re rain a couple of weeks ago, it is looking good!

Take care and love and hugs to all. Happy birthday to HJ - 21 again I hope!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi elona, I have managed to lose 8lbs but it is slow going, I am a member of Murphy`s no more pies club, they are very supportive and we all weigh in once a week. I have read some of Ted`s posts, he is a very interesting and knowledgeable guy.
I noticed you are a wooligan too :T
