I am not so bothered about turning up places on my own if am honest.
Spend Christmas day with my family when is my mum and dad, brother and fiance, grandmother and grandfather and ME around the dinner table. They get the 6 matching chairs and I have to sit on some odd paint splattered stool that comes from the attic once a year just for the occasion...! You can take anything after that!!!0 -
and another reminder of why I am in the situation I am... Kept telling myself that my debt was result of postgrad studies.... Just walked away from computer to light Diptyque candle bought on weekend away (alone but very very entertaining nonetheless) in Paris.
This is becoming a very rude awakening!0 -
I have been going out a fair bit - but that has now stopped in my bid to save money.
And even when i was out - i hardly met anyone as i was always in a group of friends. - maybe i was just going to the wrong places...
Did have a date a month and a bit ago - i sat there - opposite this guy...and realised that
a) he was boring
b) what a waste of money the date was and
c) the hours i lost there ha ha
- after that it really made me glad to be single. lol0 -

I had a date tonight!! I took money with me but he was a gent and paid for the lot. Just wouldn't let me pay for anything. It was sweet.
But I'm not looking for sweet unfortunately, I like a man who offers me a challenge. Yes, I'm one of those girls who likes a bad boy. So I'm stuck in this limbo - the nice boys like me too much (clingy, usually) and the bad boys don't like me enough (don't hear from them for weeks)

Gosh! This thread so relates to me! I'm single and 40. Yikes! I've got quite large debts, a mortgage and an average salary. It is a struggle. I do quite enjoy being single though. It was my ex BF who dragged me down financially so at least I can deal with the debts on my own now.
Bad boys - mmmm! That's why I'm still single at 40 - got involved with too many bad boys!
Anyway, glad there are loads of other single women here. Thought I was the only one.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
